“We had such a great experience! Our dog is very shy and can take some time to warm up to new people, but Julia was incredibly patient, caring, and understanding with him. It was clear that she genuinely cared about making him feel comfortable and safe. We received great updates and felt completely at ease knowing he was being well taken care of. We would absolutely recommend her and will definitely use her again! 🐾❤️”

For two years, I frequently took care of a family with 5 children and 2 Great Danes. I give my cat attention daily, making sure she feels loved and content. This often includes filling her food, water, and changing her litter box, as well as many pets and cuddles. I would love to walk, play with, and take care of your pets. About: I am available for in home pet care and house sitting, along with plant care, gardening, yard and pool maintenance. I have not completed any sits through Rover yet, but have been a pet sitter with TrustedHousesitters since 2018 and MindMyHouse since 2022. I am available for short and long term in home pet sits anywhere (but depends on where I’m traveling at that time). I am a snowbird and travel South Nov-April. I live in NE Indiana the rest of the year. If I happen to be in your area and don’t need to stay overnight in your home, I’m open to just stopping by and walking them. Just send me a message and we can figure it out. I’m also flexible with dog size and breed, but probably will decline sitting large breeds if we cannot do a meet and greet or they are not trained. I have sat for many senior pets, puppies, kittens and multiple animals at once. I prefer to sit for small-medium breeds, but will sit for large breeds if there’s only one and they are not difficult to walk. I bring over 30 years of experience in house/pet sitting. I have bonded with so many sweet pets (of all ages, sizes and breeds (please see my 5 star reviews under my photos). I have a flexible schedule and reliable transportation, therefore I have no trouble driving up to 16 hours to do a house sit, depending on where I am at the moment. I have extensive experience with gardening, plant care, and yard maintenance. I worked as a florist for 10 years and have always had a garden and eclectic selection of plants of my own. Finally, I love photography and will most likely send you lots of cute photos of your pets. I work remotely five days a week and am able to be around your pets throughout the day to ensure they have the love and attention that they need. I will care for your pet in your home and can stay up to 1-3 months if I’m traveling. If I happen to be in your area and don’t need to stay overnight in your home, I’m open to just stopping by and walking them. Just send me a message and we can figure it out. Please see my reviews from my pet sitting experience via TrustedHousesitters.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Leo-Cedarville
Amazing! I have a disability that makes keeping up with my litter boxes. Charity has come over almost every week for a year and a half. She is flexible with scheduling if something comes up, she is efficient and thorough, she is very personable, and even my grumpiest cat has come around to her. 10/10 would recommend!

Once again, we are thrilled to have worked with Karisa to take care of our beloved cats, Klondike, and Sprite, while we were away in Boston for eight days. She always goes above and beyond, not just feeding and playing with our furbabies, but also making sure they get adequate stimulation on our back porch looking at the birds in our backyard. She also cleans not just the cats bowls, each meal, but also their automatic feeders, which get quite dirty over time, making sure they were spotless before she left. She also waters our plants, brings in packages left on our front porch, and takes out the trash, all without our having to ask. She even left cat treats attached to a thank you note on our kitchen counter,on her last day. She is conscientiousness itself and a pleasure to work with. This is our second time engaging Karisa’s services through Rover, and we will most definitely continue being repeat customers.
Karisa took care of my 3 cats while I was away and was responsible with giving me updates and pictures about them. She played with them and made sure they always had food and water. She also cleaned up some of the litter mess my cats made which was appreciated. I 100% would book with Karisa again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
