“Brianne took great care of my two dogs while we were gone for the day. Before confirming the booking, Brianne came for a meet and greet with us and spent time letting the dogs get familiar and learning my dogs needs. She was very clear and timely with communications. We left instructions for each dog and Brianne sent updates/reports after each drop in visit. I really appreciate the updates for each visit- it helped us enjoy our friend’s wedding without worrying about them. We would love to have Brianne care for them again!”

“Stephanie is amazing! She is the most reliable rover I have ever had! She is super good with our almost 2 year old golden retriever who can be very high energy! She stays with him and plays and make sure he gets all the love and exercise he needs. I trust her very much with our pup and would definitely recommend!”

“She took care of my Kitties last minute, and one of them I adopted a week ago and they weren't quite on hospitable terms yet. She allowed them to interact gently while being ready to separate in case of throwing paws. She also followed special feeding directions for my elderly cat who needs stuff mixed in and her pate in an extra soupy mash.”

“Mary was absolutely wonderful. She made sure to go over my cat's needs and preferences thoroughly. The updates were detailed and had lots of pics! I would absolutely book again when we go out of town.”

About: While I don't own a dog, I have been around them all my life, and have never know i dog I didn't love, or didn't love me. Rover has opened doors for me to meet and relate to new people and pets. I am a supervisor at my job and i also am in school as a grad student, so i take responsibility very seriously. As a dog sitter, I view this as an oppurtunity to connect with different people and of course animals. Also, forcing me to get outside and be more active! I would like to be able to walk your dog, complete check ins, and house sit. Unfortunatley, as much as I would like to, I cannot dog board with my current living status. My schedule is very tight, so I do have to limit myself to the number of clients I take on. The more time advance a booking is offered, the more I will be able to adjust my schedule to meet those requirements. I care to the standards of the pet owners, and frequently send pics an updates as well as I ask questions when necessary. I also do my best to go above and beyond when i can!
“Lynette is amazing! She took great care of my puppy Bentley. He didn't even want her to leave. She also sent us the most beautiful pictures of our puppy playing in the backyard. I highly recommend Lynette!”

“Cecilia was great ! very responsive and committed, she genuinely cared about taking good care of our cat, and my shy cat warmed up to her. Would definitely recommend and book her services again when needed.”

About: What sets me apart is my experience caring for a wide variety of dogs through fostering. My family has been fostering dogs for the past two years, which has given me experience with different breeds, sizes, personalities, and care needs. I have helped care for both young and older dogs, including those adjusting to a new environment. Through fostering, I have learned how to be patient, recognize different behaviors, maintain routines, and help dogs feel comfortable and safe. I understand that every dog is unique, and I take the time to follow each pet’s specific needs and routine while providing plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship. I’m currently working part-time and off on summer break. I’m available most days and always happy to be flexible with my schedule. I have experience caring for pets by feeding them on schedule, providing fresh water, taking dogs for walks, cleaning up after them, and giving them attention and companionship. I understand the importance of following the owner’s instructions and maintaining the pet’s normal routine to help them feel comfortable and safe.
About: Our family has cared for pets for more than 10 years, including three dogs and one cat. I have personally helped care for our oldest dog, Luna, throughout the years, including feeding, walks, companionship, and keeping her comfortable as she has gotten older. I understand that every pet has its own personality, routine, and comfort level. I am patient, calm, attentive, and careful with instructions from pet parents. Whether your pet needs playtime, walks, feeding, medication reminders, or simply quiet companionship, I will treat them with respect and care. What sets me apart is that I genuinely enjoy being around animals and take responsibility seriously. I know pets are family, and I would want every owner to feel confident that their dog or cat is safe, cared for, and comfortable. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I already spend time caring for my own pets and helping with pets belonging to family and friends. I am available during evenings, some weekdays, and weekends, and I can plan walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and companionship around each pet’s normal routine. I am dependable with schedules and understand that pets feel safer when their care is consistent. I care for pets with patience, attention, and respect for the owner’s instructions. In a client’s home, I make sure pets have fresh water, food if needed, potty breaks, safe walks, and companionship. I pay attention to doors, gates, leashes, feeding instructions, and each pet’s comfort level. I also understand that some pets are shy or nervous at first, so I give them space, move calmly, and let them feel comfortable at their own pace.

James is so kind and gentle with my senior yorkie. He’s very knowledgeable and reliable. He asked all the questions he needed in order to make sure he understood what Billy (my dog) needed in case he got sick or anxious. He sends pictures of my dog and gives me a quick report of how Billy is doing. I absolutely recommend him to everyone!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
