“Jesse is great with our 3 dogs. We have an older dog who he's even had to carry up and down stairs. He's had great communication with us and left the house clean and the dogs are very happy!”
“We were happy to find Tyler to help take care of our two pets while we were away on a family trip. From initial correspondence to doing a meet and greet and then having him pet sit was a great experience. He was responsive and sent us updates. We felt at ease knowing our beloved pets were in good hands! We will certainly use him again if timing works out.”

“She is awesome! I needed someone fast and she was there. She was able to go and take my dog out when I had no one and did it really fast, within an hour she was taking care of my dogs and also took pictures for me of my babies. Thank you 😊. This is just the beginning, as she will be my person to go to when I’m out”

“Stephanie was an AMAZING sitter! She took perfect care of our two dogs, Ares & Ariel. She went above and beyond expectations, gained their trust, and quickly became one of their favorite people (and mine, too!). She is trustworthy, down to earth, and so helpful. I will definitely book with her again!”

“Jayda was awesome, we have a dog who stresses out a lot and can’t go anywhere. So it was important to have someone come to the house and stay. We highly recommend her and will use her again.”

About: I have worked with animals professionally for 4 years and began pet sitting on my own privately 1 year ago. I am 22, married, & a mom to be! I have worked at a animal hospital & a boarding facility. Working with animals is my passion & I enjoy it alot! If you're searching for a trusted, affordable, compassionate pet/house sitter, look no further! I'd love to help watch your babies while you're away. I look forward to growing and building a client base here! I am currently a stay at home wife/mom to be so I have plenty of time to spend with your furry faces! I am available for pet sitting services throughout the week & during the weekends! When pets are boarding at my home, I have a fenced in yard and two friendly pups to keep them company. When I am house/pet sitting in your home my full attention is on your babies and I will spend all the time cuddling them and keeping them company while you're away!
“Sketcher did great housesitting our anxious 2 yr old dog and 11 yr old indoor cat. She was good at communicating promptly during booking and during the stay. We came home to happy pets and everything was as expected.”

About: Pets have so much fun here, they try to come back in during pickup time! I’ve been caring and training dogs for 4 years. My family and friends also help play with dogs, assist with drop off, and give them extra snuggles. For boarding schedule between 7am and 745pm, only bring dog food. No bowls, no beds, no leashes, there are plenty of extras here. Several dogs here play together everyday like a big dog park so I can only take healthy active dogs that do not have any infectious or contagious illnesses. The best fit is a playful friendly dog that wants to run and have fun (not a dog that needs to be alone or the only pet). I cannot take senior dogs that need multiple medications or dogs with mange, or bordatella or heart worms. I provide several services including boarding, training, walking, daycare and more! My boarding schedule is usually 7am to 730pm for pet drop off and pet pickup. However, I take a day off or two and friends or family will substitute for me. I do have some family time at dinner so its best to schedule drop off and pick ups before 5pm or after 7pm to accommodate the time it takes for new arrivals. All pets get to play with other dogs. Every dog gets free time outside daily I ensure all dogs are safe and create a calming environment for them! Puppies and small dogs are welcome and do great here with the friendly group of little dogs.
About: I’m a fun loving dog sitter. I love playing with dogs, walking with them, and giving them tummy rubs. Being lazy is another quality I’m good at when me and the dog(s) don’t have anything better to do. I really do love animals. Their like fluffy teddy bears. Dogs deserve all the love and attention in the world. Weather they act crazy or not If the dog misbehaved then I would lightly pop it on the nose and say no but if the dog was nice then I’d give it tummy rubs
“This was our first time using Kathrine and she took fantastic care of our crew. I’ve never had a pet sitter stay in the home, so I was skeptical. Kathrine put me at ease the minute I met her. When we returned home our dog, six cats, and pet mouse were calm and happy. I trust her in my home and will definitely be using her pet services again.”

“This was my first time using Rover and everything went so well with Natalie! She followed my instructions perfectly and provided me with updates while she was house sitting with my dog! Would definitely recommend! :)”

“Stacie is fantastic! She house sat our two young large energetic dogs with ease. She is a good communicator, responding quickly and also sending updates and photos. I recommend Stacie with no reservation and will be reaching out to her for all my future house-sitting needs.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments for over 10 years. Friends, family, and neighbors trust me to feed, walk, play with, and look after their pets as if they were my own. I’m comfortable with puppies, senior dogs, and pets that need extra patience or attention. I pay close attention to routines, behavior, and safety, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals—not just watching them, but making sure they feel comfortable, cared for, and happy while you’re away. I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility to provide consistent and attentive care for your pets. I’m available for boarding on weekends and most weekdays after 2 PM, with time set aside for walks, play, feeding, and check-ins. I make sure each pet gets dedicated attention and isn’t just “fit into” my schedule—they’re part of it. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a secure fenced yard and two friendly, well-socialized dogs who enjoy having company. I always introduce pets slowly to make sure everyone feels comfortable. I can crate your dog if needed and will follow any specific routines, feeding schedules, or care instructions you provide. Whether in my home or yours, I focus on creating a calm, safe, and stress-free environment where your pet feels at home.
“Cat was very quick to respond during our vacation and she provided daily text updates with photos. She came to our home twice before our trip to be introduced to our two dogs and cats and also to get an overview of our house and the animals' routines. Our elderly dog requires a number of oral medications on a daily basis and Cat was able to administer the pills with no trouble. We left our home in a very clean condition and looked the same when we returned as she did all of her own dishes and kept the house tidy. Cat also, per our request, kept our outside lawn clear of dog waste on a daily basis while also cleaning the cat boxes twice daily. Our four pets seem very well cared for, as did our home. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Catherine to anyone who needs a responsible person to look after their loved ones.”
About: I’ve taken care of my community’s pets since I was 17. I’ve cared for almost all kinds of pets. Cats, dogs, birds, lizards, you name it! I always try to go the extra mile so that pet parents not only come home to a happy, healthy pet; but a clean and well-cared for home! I am a middle school band director who works 7-3 most days. However, I can go before and after school care and I can spend nights! My kittens get fed twice a day, they get a new toy once a month and go to the vet once a month! They also have their litter box scooped every night and cleaned once a week. They even sleep in the bed with me. If I’m caring for dogs, they go on at least 3 walks a day of varying length (depending on the dog). I frequently watch a 13 year old pug who can’t stay out very long, so he goes on 3, 10-minute walks a day. However, if your dog has the endurance to go on a longer walk/run with me - I’ll take them up to 3 miles!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lavonia walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lavonia maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lavonia choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lavonia. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
