About: I just lost my dog of 12 years. I'm not ready for another yet. Until I would l to help you with extra love for yours! ♡ I work 7 to 5, Monday through Friday. 10 HOURS PER DAY, I MAY NOT be a good fit everyone on weekdays! However, I would be available to help you with walking from 5pm to 7pm on weekdays, and we could talk about weekends! I live in downtown Hendersonville and do the Ecusta Trail quite often, if you are near I would love to help! I would prefer to come to your home to help with your dog! But if we vibe well, I have a home set up for a dog, with a fenced in yard and a doggie door!
“Mallory is the best. She cared for our senior German Shepherd for a week with compassion, no problem giving meds, and constant communication. We will book with her again in a heartbeat.”

“Taylor is a great fit for our fur babies Matteo and Maisy. They enjoyed their time with her and we trust her completely with our dogs and home. We would be lucky to have her watch M&M the next time we travel and need her services. Thanks again Taylor for taking such great care of M&M??? ?”
“Kim was wonderful with my kitties, I will absolutely be using her again. You know its a good sign when KJ comes out of hiding to see her. 😊 Wonderful communication and so good to my babies, thank you again Kim!”

About: As a person who has been the primary care taker of my pets since I was 8, I know the right way to take care of animals and know how hard it can be to find quality care for our furry friends. With 2 cats of my own and with several previously owned dogs, I know I can provide excellent care to all kinds of animals! I also have a Veterinary Assisting degree, so also being able to alert owners of any health issues to be wary of is something I take seriously! Pet care is a daily task, as such I am able to do daily walks and be able to do other care tasks throughout the day so that your pet feels enriched and loved even when you’re away. I understand dog behavior to a good degree as I studied it while in school to earn my degree, so being able to safely walk a dog even if they are reactive is something I feel comfortable with.
“Jill was awesome! She made an instant connection with our dog. She shared great photos of our pup having a good time. We felt comfortable with her immediately and the entire time.”

About: I have been working with animals for the past five years, I have taken care of dogs, cats, and lizards. I have worked with disabled animals too Due to how my week operates, I am completely flexible. I can drop in weekdays and weekends, you and your pets are my number one priority. Your animal is safe with me; you don't have to worry. I aim to make open and transparent communication my top priority. If something goes wrong or your animal gets sick I will always contact you.
“I have a bird and a gecko and I was very appreciative of Kira for taking the job to feed them for me. If anyone has a bird or a reptile or some kind of exotic pet and need someone to watch them, I would recommend Kira. She did a great job. I understood Rover only has options for dogs and cats but I hope that changes in the future. Thank you so much again Kira! Thank you for helping me care for my animals when I couldn't find anyone else. You did a fantastic job”

“Rebecca went above and beyond for our pets. She treated them like family, gave them special love and attention, and kept us updated with adorable photos and videos and detailed progress reports while we were on vacation. One of our dogs has psychological trauma from his past and she was so gentle and accommodating with him. We hated being away from our pups for 6 days but knew they were in excellent hands. Thank you so much for your help, Rebecca! You truly have a way with animals! We will treasure so many of these pet photos too!”

“Kayla was great! We appreciated her visit with our cat and will definitely recommend her to others. Our kitty is shy and always runs and hides when anyone comes into our home. Kayla snapped a few pictures for us of her in her bed. We are pleased with the services and will utilize the services again.”

About: Hi! I'm Susanna, and by day two I'm usually besties with your pet. When I'm not spending time with animals, I'm a graduate student in landscape architecture and currently interning at Watermark Landscape Architecture and Land Planning. I love being outdoors, staying active, and connecting with nature—which is one of the reasons I love caring for pets. Whether your dog enjoys a leisurely stroll or needs to burn off energy with a run, I'm happy to match their pace (I'll always go the extra block for them!). I live right by the Ecusta Trail, so daily walks are already part of my routine. I'm friendly, responsible, reliable, and will treat your pet like one of my own. I currently have a 4-year-old indoor/outdoor cat, and I grew up with dogs, so I know how much they become part of the family. I miss having dogs around and would love the chance to get to know yours! I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine, and I'm happy to follow any care instructions to help them feel comfortable while you're away. I'll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in good hands. My schedule is very flexible. I'm available before 9:00 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, and I'm generally available throughout the weekends. I'd love the opportunity to meet you and your furry family—I can't wait to become your pet's new favorite friend! Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I already structure my day around being active and spending time outdoors. On weekdays, I’m typically available early in the morning before 9 a.m. and again in the evenings after 5 p.m., which works well for consistent walks, feedings, and check-ins. I like starting and ending my day outside, so incorporating dog walks or cat care visits into those times feels very natural and enjoyable for me. Living near the Ecusta Trail also makes it easy for me to take dogs on longer, enriching walks as part of my regular routine. As a graduate student, my schedule is flexible, and I’m able to plan my day around pet care commitments. On weekends, I generally have open availability, which allows me to provide more extended visits, extra walks, or more time for pets who need additional attention. Since I already care for my own cat daily, pet care is not something I “fit in”—it’s already part of how I live. I’m used to being consistent, attentive, and responsible with feeding schedules, litter box care, exercise, and companionship. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine consistent and stress-free by closely following all instructions for feeding, walks, litter box care, medication, and any special needs. For dogs, I provide walks and exercise based on their energy level, whether that’s relaxed neighborhood strolls or longer outings on nearby trails. I prioritize safety, attention, and positive interaction. For cats, I take a calm, patient approach and adjust to their personality—some want play and attention, while others prefer quiet space. I always ensure they have fresh food and water, clean litter boxes, and a comfortable environment. I pay close attention to each pet’s behavior and well-being and communicate regularly with updates and photos so owners feel confident and at ease while away. My goal is to care for every pet as thoughtfully as I would my own.
“Reiley was fantastic with our four pups for a short trip away! Great communication and photos at each visit. We hope she’ll come back to care for them again soon! ?? Thanks, Reiley!!”

Mara provided exceptional care for our 2 dogs and keep us updated with pictures and pertinent details! She also was able to assist us with short notice. We highly recommend Mara and will definitely look into booking her again. Thanks Mara and have a great day! 😁

Mallory was amazing! Super friendly and so great with our kitties. We had a special circumstance with having to keep them separated and she was a pro! Lots of great communication and cute pics daily. She really went above and beyond. We will most definitely call her again and highly recommend booking her services. Thank you Mallory!

Jennifer did a great job this time taking care of Madeleine the kitten and also Caly, the dog. She had to walk Caly this time and she sent photos and notes. I will definitely be using her again as she follows all directions and seems to love all animals. What a jewel!!!!
Can I give 10 stars?! Celia is helping with our frenchie puppy, Tito, who is still recovering from a broken elbow and she's been a life saver. He needs some extra attention and Celia is amazing with him. Not only does she hang out with him, she also works with him a little bit with training.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
