“Highly recommend Leah and Christopher for dog sitting! Finn felt right at home and loved running around their fenced yard. They were very helpful wi the my changing schedule and sent lots of pix of Finn! We will definitely ask to come back!”

“Tara was awesome! I received so many updates about Rex and she was super responsive. She has a great set up with a yard, kids to play with, etc. They all took such good care of him and made him feel right at home. It was nice not having to worry about our dog at all cause we knew he was getting the time and attention he needed. She went above and beyond in all ways to make him feel loved! We will definitely use Tara any time we need someone to watch our dog.”

“Joy seemed to have a great time, as usual. The kids loved how many pictures and videos Stacie sent every day, reassuring them that she was having a great time. Definitely plan on boarding Joy with Stacie again.”

“Fantastic experience, Jennifer’s frequent updates and pictures allowed us to be able to relax and enjoy our vacation. Her dog Charlotte and our puppy played well together. Our puppy keeps asking to go back. Totally will use Jennifer again, and highly recommend her.”

“Darnell and his family are truly lovely people who cared for our dog as if she were their own. We loved the wonderful daily updates with photos. If we could give more than 5 stars, we would!”

“We never have any worries leaving Humphrey with Ashley, Todd and their family! Humphrey is so well loved and looked after - a mini break for him in a home away from home.”

“Caroline and her husband provided exceptional care for a several weeks long stay . They were extremely attentive to my notes on his medication, behavior, and overall care. Over the years, I've had several good experiences on Rover with Duke, but this was definitely the best. They looked after him like their own pet, and Duke had a happy and healthy stay with them. Can't recommend them enough - they really do their best.”

About: I provide one-on-one care. Your pet will get 100% of my attention! I proudly raised two kittens who lived beautiful lives. I currently have a cockatiel age 15 and a goldfish. I have cared for friends pets when they were out of town and family dogs. I listen clearly to your requests and suggestions and aim to be the person I would want to leave my pet with. I absolutely love ALL animals! I’m currently home from college and available through the summer. My schedule is flexible and I am ready when needed. My summer course work is completed so all my time and energy will be with your pet. I have a small fenced yard ( see photo ) and My neighborhood has sidewalks to take walks or runs and I welcome you to bring your pet’s toys, stuffed animals, beds etc., anything to make them feel more at home. I will follow your routine and watch animals one at a time.
About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I lost my last beloved pet over a year ago and don’t currently have any animals of my own, but I still have so much love to give. Whether your pet enjoys playtime, quiet company, or a cozy nap nearby, I want them to feel like family while you’re away. I’m retired and home throughout the day, with plenty of time for companionship, cuddles, and a routine that helps your pet feel comfortable, safe and loved. I live in a pet-proofed basement apartment with a private entrance and a large fenced yard. My home has easy-to-clean stone-tile floors, plenty of pet beds, and toys to enjoy. Pets are welcome on the furniture and in bed if that’s what they’re accustomed to—my own animals always slept with me! Before a stay, I’d like to discuss your pet’s routines, medications, special needs, and comfort around other animals so we can make sure my home is a good fit.

“Jill was an incredible sitter for our week-long trip with Muffin. She kept us updated daily with sweet photos and messages, and even hopped on FaceTime with us twice so we could see him and know he was doing well — that kind of communication made being away so much easier. What really stood out was how she handled an unexpected situation during our trip. Without hesitation, she made sure Muffin got the care he needed and stayed by his side the whole time, going well above and beyond what we ever expected from a sitter. Her calm, caring, and responsible approach gave us total peace of mind. We can't recommend Jill enough — she's attentive, trustworthy, and genuinely cares about the pets she watches. We'll absolutely be booking with her again!”

“An incredible sitter!!! 💯 We needed someone to watch our dog and cat over the holiday weekend and we’re super lucky that Chaimae was available! Our pets were on their own vacation while we were on ours! 😎 We loved getting pics and updates on how much fun they were having, whether going for walks or just relaxing in the backyard. Chaimae did a fantastic job taking care of our floofs and will definitely be our go-to sitter next time! 🐺 🐈 🐾”

“Jason and his wife were absolutely amazing with my basset, Chewie! They stepped in on a last minute request and gave him all the love and care I could have hoped for. It was clear from the start that they truly love dogs, and Chewie felt right at home with them. I got updates that gave me complete peace of mind, and I could tell he was happy and well looked after the entire time. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Jason and his wife went above and beyond. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, caring, and reliable pet sitters.”

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
