“Joanna did a great job!! She was very communicative. She sent pictures of the pets regularly, followed all directions left, reached out with any questions, and left the house tidy upon the end of the service. She even came over a week before to meet the pets and familiarize herself with the location of foods and treats! Very thankful for her work!”

About: I have taken care of dogs ranging from 10 pounds to 80 pounds. Family members have relied on me to bathe their furry babies, take them for walks, feed, and watch them over night. I would be honored to do the same for you! In currently working part time with shifts ranging from 5 to 8 hours so i’ll have plenty of time to make your pets feel loved! i am available weekdays and weekends. I do not have a fenced yard, but am a member to a dog park here in town. I have a border collie and two cats that don’t mind other animals.
“Nicole could not have been better to work with. She gave us regular updates, shoed up early and was very flexible with our last minute booking. She even left us baked goods when she left! Will be booking with her again if we can!”

“Ross has been absolutely incredible every time he’s cared for our dogs. He goes above and beyond—not only making sure they’re fed and have fresh water, but also taking care of administering medications without any issues. It’s such a relief knowing they’re in safe, capable hands. What really stands out is how much he genuinely cares. He spends quality time with them and treats them like his own, which means everything to us. Our dogs are always happy and comfortable when he’s around. We truly wouldn’t trust anyone else. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for reliable, compassionate pet care.”

“Kessie not only took the BEST care of my dog Remi but she also took great care of the house. My whole trip away I was at ease knowing he was in great hands and got lots of photos updates throughout the stay. Will definitely be using her again and would recommend to anyone looking for a loving “babysitter” for their four legged friend.”

“Amber was great! She stayed at the house with our three dogs over the holiday break. She was very responsive and sent daily pictures of our fur babies! She took good care of them, cuddled them, and was a great house guest. We definitely plan on using her again!”
“Kai did a wonderful job taking care of our two dogs. They are a bit needy and love to bark, but she kept me updated for the duration of her stay, and sent lots for photos to me. She left the house spotless, and nothing was out of place when I returned home. I will definitely be booking with her again. 5/5 stars!!”

“We had Jennifer stay with our dog, Lucy, while we were out of town for Memorial Day weekend. To say she is amazing is an understatement. Our girl has some health issues and requires a very strict schedule of feedings and medication. I could tell Jennifer truly cared for Lucy and did an incredible job with her and her special needs. She sent daily pictures and updates, and our house was cleaner than we left it when we returned. We will definitely be repeat customers!”

About: Hello! You can call me Wendy. I’m a tenured physics professor and a lifelong animal lover. I currently have three cats of my own and many years of experience caring for both cats and dogs. I have experience caring for senior pets and understand the importance of routines, medication schedules, and paying close attention to changes in behavior and health. I’m patient, reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to making every pet feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their family is away. For boarding and doggy day care, I care for only one dog or one family’s dogs at a time. If you have multiple dogs from the same household, I’m happy to care for them together. This allows me to provide plenty of personalized attention in a calm, comfortable home environment without mixing unfamiliar dogs. I have three cats, but they can be kept completely separate from your dog(s) if needed. My goal is to provide a safe, relaxed, home-like experience where your pets receive lots of individual attention and care. As a professor, I bring professionalism, responsibility, and strong communication to every pet-sitting job. My schedule is especially flexible during evenings, weekends, holidays, and university breaks. Whether you need house sitting, drop-in visits, dog walking, feeding, litter box cleaning, or care for senior pets, I will treat your pets and home with the same care and respect I give my own.
“Ava very communicative, sending pics and updates every day we were on vacation. She also administered meds to our older cat, and both cats were relaxed when we got back.”

“Madison went above and beyond in every way. I cannot recommend her enough. She took such good care of our dogs while we were away, communicating throughout, and treated them like her own.”

“We didn’t get to use Diane this time. Our 14 year old Border Collie, Mouse, passed right before Diane was supposed to sit. My husband ended up canceling his trip and stayed home with our cats. However, Diane was very professional and friendly during our meet and greet and extremely empathetic upon finding out about Mouse.”

About: I’ve dog sat and house sat for friends before and they have trusted me with their house and animals, generally for 1 week but sometimes for longer or shorter. I take very good care of the home and animals, listen to instructions careful and apply those instructions in order to be helpful. I will always be upfront and honest with everyone and I always communicate well. I currently work as a full time server at Texas Roadhouse and live by myself. I am not married nor have any kids yet so it’s just me. My schedule is pretty flexible in the morning to early afternoon due to having to serve at night generally. I don’t mind coming in to help before and after work. I don’t have any pets in my own home because I can’t due to landlord rules but I grew up with animals throughout my whole life. I play with the animals if they want to play, pet them, feed them when they need to be fed, take them on walks (dogs), just have fun with them!

Great🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩Requested him in the App at 10am and he was available and saw him at 7pm. Also it was at a Homewood Suites 🫣🤩 Sent us lots of pictures 🤗 & was very was incredibly efficient and attentive! He proactively asked all the right questions to make sure everything went off without a hitch. Finding someone this reliable on short notice while staying at a hotel was an absolute lifesaver. 10/10 recommend!

Madison was a great sitter! I knew from the moment I met her that she was a good match. She was warm, friendly, and funny and connected with my dog right away. While we were away she consistently checked in and sent adorable photos. She took wonderful care of our home and brought in our mail as requested. Upon our return, the left everything clean and turned on the outside light for us since we got home late in the dark. I’m very happy with our experience with Maddy and would not hesitate to have her sit for us again.

Anna did an amazing job watching my dog, Pearl! She was very respectful, responded quickly to all of my messages, and kept me updated throughout the stay. It gave me peace of mind knowing Pearl was in such caring and reliable hands. I would definitely recommend Anna to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter, and I'd be happy to book with her again!

I couldn't have asked for a better house and pet sitter than Madison! She took care of my home and dog for two weeks, and everything was absolutely perfect. Communication was seamless—I received timely updates and plenty of photos that completely set my mind at ease while I was away. Not only was my dog happy and in great shape when I returned, but Madison also went above and beyond, helping water the plants and tidying up the house. Madison is incredibly trustworthy, reliable, and professional. I would absolutely hire her again in a heartbeat!

Jonah was so great! He came and watched my doodle, Benny, on Christmas (of all days!). He came over a week early to visit and they took to each other immediately, which is huge because I never know how he's going to react to new people. He is obviously a dog person. This was my first experience with using a sitter and I could not have been more pleased. He sent pictures all evening and made us feel very comfortable. I highly recommend Jonah, except on the days I need him! 😁

Grace was an excellent pet sitter for our three cats. She was professional, responsible, and communicated clearly throughout our time away. We always knew how our cats were doing, which gave us peace of mind. She followed instructions carefully, was dependable, and treated our cats with genuine care. We would not hesitate to trust Grace again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and attentive pet sitter

Avery came to our home to sit with our 4-legged babies for a couple of hours. We don’t really leave them home alone but we both needed to be gone at the same time and other sitters we’d previously used were not available. It was pretty expensive for a few hours but we were grateful she could do it on just a few days notice. Avery was prompt in arriving, friendly, good with the dogs, and sent a pic during the time she was there. I would not hesitate to book her again if needed.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Langdon Place walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Langdon Place maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Langdon Place choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
