“Kelsey took care of our cat for 4 days and we couldn't be happier. The cat was calm, the litter box area was clean and the packages were inside (no small feat, considering Amazon Prime Days). We will hire her again for our next trip.”

“First time using Rover and Brittany. She did an initial meet and greet and came by one more time before services started since I was a new customer. Brittany communicated daily and sent pictures. One of my cats needed meds and she did all as requested. Would use her again and do recommend.”

“Jennifer is the ultimate dog whisper. She is great with all of our pets, she is dependable, timely, and is a good communicator. I can rest assured that my babies are in good hands.”

“Brenda took good care of big boy while we were out of town for a wedding. He had fun with playtime and felt very comfortable with her. I didn’t have to worry about our dog, Brenda didn’t miss a visit and was always on time.”

About: I have hands-on experience caring for multiple dogs of different breeds, sizes, and energy levels. I currently have an almost 3-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer, a German Shepherd, and a rescue pit bull, so I’m very comfortable handling active, strong, and high-energy dogs. In addition to my own dogs, I’ve cared for friends’ dogs and cats many times, including feeding, walking, playtime, and making sure they feel comfortable while their owners are away. I understand how important it is to keep our pets on their routine and give them attention, patience, and a safe environment. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine. I am available in the mornings before work, during my lunch break, and after work in the evenings, which allows me to provide consistent drop-in visits, walks, feeding, and playtime. I also have more flexibility on weekends, which gives me the ability to take on longer visits or additional care if needed. I’m able to stay organized and reliable with my schedule, making sure each pet gets dependable attention and care throughout the day. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I follow all instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, medication if needed, and any specific care preferences the owner provides. I make sure each pet gets attention, playtime, and comfort so they feel safe while their owner is away. I also keep the home clean and respected, making sure everything is left as I found it. I give regular updates so clients know how their pets are doing and can feel confident they are being well cared for.
About: I’ve been dog sitting since I was 16 and have years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities. I also have professional experience working as a kennel/shelter technician, where I cared for multiple dogs, handled feeding and cleaning routines, exercised dogs, and worked with animals with different temperaments and needs. I’m comfortable around all types of dogs and understand that every pup has their own personality and routine. I treat every dog I care for like my own and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. 🐾 I’m currently a full-time student, which makes pet sitting fit perfectly into my daily routine. I spend a lot of my time studying and doing schoolwork, so I’m able to study from your home and be there with your pet throughout the day. This means plenty of company, attention, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and cuddles instead of your pet being left alone for long periods. I love having a furry study buddy, and my flexible school schedule allows me to easily work around your pet’s normal routine. 🐾 I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while they’re with me. When caring for pets at my apartment, I love taking them on walks, giving them plenty of attention, and making sure they get the exercise and stimulation they need. When staying in a client’s home, I follow their routine as closely as possible. Whether that means specific feeding times, walks, playtime, medications, or just lots of cuddles, I’m happy to care for your pet exactly the way you prefer. My goal is to keep their routine as normal and comfortable as possible while you’re away. 🐾
“Our German shepherd (Zeus) is a very anxious, does not like other dogs, does not take treats from people either, some may say aggressive but really, he’s just scared.we needed to find a person that could handle him, in other words know how to take the lead, show him “it’s okay” . We were amazed at how quickly she created a bond with him! Jack has the talent/skill and knowledge for taking care of big anxious dogs and sassy ones too. Recommend 10 out of 10. Now we can take vacations!!”

About: I previously cat/dog and house sat while living in NYC and Los Angeles, and now North/South Carolina. I walked the dogs several times daily, prepared special meals as directed and kept them company. With cats, I made sure their litter boxes were clean and they had their meals and medications. Up until recently, I had threesenior dogs, a chi-weenie and a dachshund. The dachshund had back trouble so I took her to the acupuncturist and chiropractor, she also had chronic UTI so she was on medications. One of my dogs had seizures, so I had special diets and medications for her. I would love to meet you & your pet! I am currently working from home so can be available during the day in case your pet needs more bathroom breaks or additional attention. Will be able to work around their schedule, I can walk your pet around your neighborhood. I like to make sure that they have some reflective tapes/leash in case we're out at night.
About: I’m the owner of Barnyard Pet Retreat. I do dog/cat boarding out of my own home. It’s my full time job so I’ll be with them at all times. I have multiple dogs of my own and I am home full time. So, your fur babies will be monitored and loved at all times! I have a great potty routine that my dogs are currently on. I have anywhere from small dogs to big dogs in my household so your fur baby will have a lot of company. I can cage your dogs if needed or my own for your fur baby’s comfort.

- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
