“Risa really came through for me. I work long hours at night and my husband is currently out of town and I needed someone who could check up on my baby Sophie while I was at work. It took a lot for me to allow someone other than myself or my husband to care for her. I’m so glad I made this decision. Risa was amazing and my pup loved her. She always let me know when she was going to my home and sent me pics of their time together. I will definitely be using her again!”

About: I have raised and cared for many dogs in my life. I have also babysat for years, so adjusting to different personalities and quirks is not strange for me. I am currently enrolled in Midwestern State University, majoring in Nursing. Additionally, I am running cross country there. Evenings and weekends are pretty open for me, but will vary! I have babysat, house sat, and used to clean homes before moving off to college, so I am pretty comfortable with watching your pets in the comfort of your own home. Unfortunately, however, the dorms don’t allow pets lol, so I am unable to watch them at my living space.
About: I have taken care of dogs since I was 12, which started in my neighborhood growing up. I would take care of neighbors dogs when they're out of town, at work for long periods of time, or volunteering at the humane society. Over the years I have gained experience which include: bathing, feeding, walking, playing, and medicating them when needed/prescribed. Lastly I consider myself an excellent dog sitter because I truly love dogs, I love all animals, but dogs have always had a special place in my heart. I currently work part-time as a nanny 2-3 times a week but those hours are flexible. I do prefer an ongoing long term set schedule, but am also flexible for other types of schedules and dates. I live in a pet-friendly apartment complex with lots of lawn and grass area for dogs to run around and play. There are other dog owners who are very friendly as well as stationary bag stations to keep a clean space for others.
About: I've had cats and dogs nearly all my life. At one point we had over 12 dogs and 4 cats! All eating in close proximity of each other peacefully! But also as a kid, the point was to just make sure they survive. No real focus on building relationships. Now over the past 15 years, I've become somewhat of an advocate for training pets on expectation and communication. Makes the owners life easier and helps the pet not feel anxious! I'm pretty flexible as I own a small mobile furniture repair business. Most requests can be granted if enough communication occurs ahead of time! My pets at home are decently trained. They won't win America's got talent, but they know and obey the basic commands. If you're currently training your pups and already have, I am happy to reinforce whatever habits and disciplines you are training or maintaining!
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Lakeside City
We had a wonderful experience with McKenna! She communicated clearly and consistently and was incredibly patient, understanding, and kind when we ran into some difficulties on our end. She handled everything with such grace and made the entire process stress-free. McKenna is a college student who is new to the area, and I highly recommend giving her the opportunity to care for your pets. We would absolutely book with her again!
