Christina is so good with our shy kitty! She’s actually made friends with her. Usually our cat hides from new people. I feel great about leaving Christina in charge of our pet!

I highly recommend Ali’s services. I was looking for a sitter who not only loves my cats as her own but understands subtle changes in their health during my vacation. One of my cats is over 12 years old so I needed a sitter with veterinary skills and knowledges. I am glad that I have chosen Ali for my cats and will ask her again for next vacations. Her services are beyond my expectations.

About: What sets me apart is my experience with a wide range of animals—not just dogs and cats, but also reptiles and small pets. I’ve spent years fostering, pet sitting, and walking dogs of all breeds and temperaments, which has given me a deep understanding of animal behavior and individual needs. Whether it’s helping a shy rescue feel safe, caring for an energetic puppy, or tending to the unique needs of a senior pet, I’m patient, observant, and dedicated to making sure every animal feels comfortable and cared for. I treat each pet like my own—with plenty of attention, structure, and love. I currently care for animals full time, I run my own small rescue, and it gives me full flexibility to care for your animals like they are my own! Whether I’m caring for pets in your home or taking them out for walks, my main priority is keeping them comfortable, safe, and happy. I stick closely to your pet’s normal routine—feeding schedules, favorite toys, and walking routes—so they feel secure while you’re away. During visits, I always make time for play, cuddles, and attention, as well as fresh water and clean-up. On walks, I make sure your pet gets the right balance of exercise and fun, always keeping their safety and comfort in mind.

Chrissy was AMAZING with my Lab and Rottweiler. I recommend her to anyone needing their fur babies watched. She was very communicative, punctual, friendly, and trustworthy. If I could leave more than 5 stars, I would🤩

About: Growing up I have always had cats and dogs around in my life. I have always bonded with cats and have lots of experience taking care of newborn kittens. I have found homes for 30 cats and kittens and would love to continue helping cats, dogs and owners out with pet care as needed! I love meeting new pets and owners and I’m exited to have you book with me! I currently work at Texas Roadhouse and am starting collage! Being injured I had to rethink how I was going to work and make money and rover works out very will for me! It’s an amazing opportunity to help pet owners in need as well as connect with pets! I love exercising and walking and always make the pets included if they want to be, even my 15 pound cat in his backpack! I currently live in an apartment building and go for walks frequently. I do own a cat backpack that is breathable for the cats to take them on walks as well as a cat and dog leash and harness for small dogs! I also have lots cat toys and a few dog toys that are just waiting to be used by someone other than my cats (whom are great with other animals).

About: I have had a pets my entire life, mostly dogs and cats. I currently have 2 labs and 1 golden doodle who roam the yard with our farm animals; chickens and ducks. They are kennel trained and wouldn’t be around customer pets. I have 3 kids who love learning and helping out with chores. They are in extra curricular activities but I would ensure a schedule with you before the time of watching your fur baby. My husband is home most nights and weekends (besides hunting seasons) and he works construction during the day. I am home most nights and weekends besides when I have drill with the Iowa National guard, I work full time with the guard. Our dogs currently have an underground fence but because we have one mischievous lab (Mayble) who likes to convince the other two to go on adventures, we kennel her and our youngest (Bailey, golden doodle) during working hours. Our eldest (Max) is pretty lazy and wonders our yard freely during the day and night without his collar.

About: Currently dog sit for a friend when their family goes out of town that has lead my son and I into enjoying taking care of dogs. We enjoy their company, snuggles and companionship. Currently working part time hours so I am home often along with being home every night and on weekends which allows your fur baby to not be alone for long periods of time. Have a front yard easily accessible to use with a lead and a big fenced in back yard for running around, playing fetch or relaxing in the sun.

About: Housesitting and petsitting full-time for the past four years (mainly via the large international platform), I'm a quiet, independent, conscientious, non-smoking, freelance writer and virtual assistant. Experienced with cats, dogs, house rabbits, chickens, ducks, and sheep, as well as upkeeping my own country and city homes through the years. Please inquire to see my 20+ five-star reviews on the THS housesitting site. I have experience caring for pets young and old; administering a variety of medications (oral, inhaler, etc.), caring for anxious, shy, feral, and pets with all manner of personalities. I love meeting animals where they are, and every pet deserves to remain comfortable at home. With a very flexible schedule, I can adapt to a variety of arrangements and needs. I’m quite the homebody, whether at my own home or housesitting :) As a former country cottage-renter, and living on my own for the past 13 years, I'm used to caring for a house. I've also lived for years in a city apartment, and managed all aspects of that kind of life. I am relatively handy, especially with older/quirky houses, yet know when to call in the professionals. I've also worked as an Airbnb turnover cleaner/caretaker, which involved maintaining a large summer garden. A homebody at heart, I'm able to spend most of my time on your property, and to accommodate special situations. I love to explore for a bit, then return to the sanctuary of home. Growing up, I volunteered at the Animal Rescue League across the street and had various pets of my own. When I was 8, we moved to a more rural location and I was finally able to get a kitten, who became my best friend. At the age of 12, I used my own savings to adopt a dachshund mix who'd caught my heart. I take all the animal time I can get - pets have always been my people, so to speak. I love animals, but can't currently make the long-term commitment to a pet. I also adore travel, and working online allows me some freedom of location. I appreciate settling in to visit a place for weeks or months, and getting to know new animal friends in that time.

About: I’ve taken care of many animals since I was just a little kid. I’ve always held a special place in my heart for dogs, along with small critters. Just recently I moved from Wisconsin, working at a humane society there where everyday I did all the basic care routines/evaluations for approximately 40 dogs. It was a blast, but I’d also love to slow down, and give 1 on 1 attention to the needs of each. I am currently a pretty free person, beginning my career of dog training, Bait’s Purpose: K-9. I plan my future around my dogs, and training. I care for pets however is requested by the owner(s), this just varies on what each dog is comfortable with. Dogs are in great care, however.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ladora. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
