“They were absolutely amazing with my dog, Charlie. From the moment we dropped him off, they were kind, patient, and super understanding. You can tell they genuinely care about the dogs they watch. Charlie was comfortable with them and that gave me a lot of peace of mind. They kept me updated and were very attentive to his needs. I’m really grateful for how well they treated him and I would 100% trust them again. Highly recommend!”
“Maria is an amazing sitter and I will be referring all my friends to her. She always makes gays very happy! He is always in a great mood when I drop him off and happy when I pick him up. And when I am away she updates me daily.”
“I can’t say enough good things about these folks. To start, they spent an hour with me and Benny (my pup) in advance of my trip and introduced us to their place. Benny loved the big backyard and I could tell he immediately felt at home. During my trip, I received daily videos of Benny playing with other dogs or being loved on, which made me feel good knowing I was so far away from home. Benny is such a good dog and I am grateful to have connected with people as equally good and loving. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”
“If I could give her more stars I would. I had been looking for a little while for someone to care for Sage with no progress. Unfortunately this means I was looking for last minute places for her to go. Something I truly dreaded because I really didn't want to leave her home and I couldn't take her with me. On top of all that I wanted to be able to trust the person or else I wouldn't be able to really rest with Sage being gone. I am so so so thankful for Tina. She responded quickly and was just a pleasant person from beginning to end. When I actually met Tina I had peace in leaving Sage. I was not worried at all. She was my miracle and exactly what I had been praying for.”
“Reservé con Nelson el cuidado de mis mascotas por 7 días, realmente hizo un excelente trabajo, Kira y Linda fueron acogidas como suyas. Todos los días recibía fotos y vídeos de ambas donde se mostraban alegres. Gracias Nelson sin dudas volvería a contratarte para que cuides de mis mascotas.”
“Ryo was great with Piper. They provided updates and pictures throughout our trip. I could tell that Piper enjoyed himself as well, upon his return home. I will definitely refer Ryo to other friends and family looking for a sitter.”
“Daphne was wonderful! She took Lola as a last minute booking and we couldn't be happier! We received daily picture updates. Lola was treated like a little princess with lots of love! 🩷 Highly recommend Daphne!”
“Shunita went way beyond we expected. Our dog got sick with diarrhea. Not only did Shunita wash & clean all the bedding, but also cooked chicken & rice special for her. We definitely will use Shunita again! She is TOPS! Highly recommend her to anyone that loves their dog babies!”
“Dawn did an amazing job taking care of my fur baby. We were gone for a week and she made sure to update me on how my baby was doing through texts and photos. She even cuddled her and bought treats when she wasn’t eating the ones I brought. She and her husband were amazing caregivers for my sweet fur baby. I never worried once about whether my baby was safe.”
“I felt so comfortable knowing that Megan was caring for my girls while we were on vacation! We even had some cute pics to enjoy showing that they were having a great time.”
“Kisha was our first cat sitter and she set the bar high! She was the gold standard for someone we wanted to take care of our cats! Kept us updated with photos and daily ongoings. Our cats were fed, happy, and clean!”
“Kembra was very nice to work with. She made sure to keep me updated throughout my trip, and sent pictures to show that Duke was having a good time. Only thing to know going in, is that her house seems to show up incorrectly on Google maps. I suggest getting with her before drop off to make sure you reach the correct house.”
“Penny seem to settle right in with Elaine and Cal and the regular picture updates we received! Even when I arrived to pick her up, she barely wanted to stop playing and exploring!”
“Missy was excellent with my girls. She was patient and loving, even during a stressful time. She was very flexible and accommodating with my weird scheduling needs for drop off and pickup as well. I definitely recommend her dog sitting services!”
About: I have many years of caring for my own cats (Jack & Jill growing up, and my foster cat Bucky now) as well as lots of experience dog-walking and home-sitting throughout college. I absolutely love making new friends with your pets and am happy to provide them less time alone or in their kennels I still have full-time work to accommodate (from 9am-3:30pm), but I work remote and am able to be flexible. I am available most evenings and weekends. Unfortunately my apartment makes me unavailable to provide care for pets away from your home. I look forward to caring for your pets in your yards, neighborhoods, or local dog parks however. I don't object to taking pets for a car ride if they enjoy those as well
“Sarah, Daniel, and their family took great care of our Winnie. She’s a little high maintenance; needs loads of snuggles and doesn’t do well with other dogs. They played fetch with her and sent pics every day. Winnie seemed really comfortable when we picked her up. I would recommend them for your dog sitting needs and we will definitely contact them again.”
“Ciara is fantastic! She kept in touch with messages and pictures the entire time and Nash came home worn out from playing fetch so I know that he was cared for. I 100% recommend Ciara and she will be my boy’s sitter for as long as she’ll have us!”
“She was absolutely perfect!!!! She gave me updates and pictures of my dog, she celebrated his birthday with him in my place, she was amazing!! Everything was such a convenience!!! My dog loves her and I will definitely book again and again!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Laconia home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Laconia.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Laconia sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
