“Kimberly did an exceptional job. The house was clean when we got home and better yet our babies were happy and healthy! This was our first dealing with Kimberly, but it certainly will not be our last. Thank you for photos, your attention to medications, etc. You live up to all your wonderful reviews and then some!”

“We had an amazing experience with Addison! From the moment we left, communication was outstanding. We received regular updates, photos, and messages throughout our trip, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Our dogs were clearly well cared for and loved. It was obvious that she took the time to get to know their personalities and made sure they were comfortable, happy, and safe. She was incredibly reliable, professional, and kind, and we never had to worry about a thing. We came home to happy, well-cared-for dogs, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and communicative pet sitter!”

“Hannah is amazing! One of our cats is diabetic and needs insulin injections and has a special diet while the other is very shy and wary of new people. Hannah was super communicative and understood their needs so well. She worked with me throughout the stay to make any adjustments as needed. When you have a pet with medical needs, being able to have a stress free weekend away is the best compliment I could possibly give!”

“Deborah did a wonderful job of taking care of our dogs and tortoise while we were gone. She sent photos and videos everyday and she went above and beyond by cleaning up before we returned, collecting mail, and making our dogs feel extra loved. I highly suggest Deborah for your dog sitting needs.”

About: Experienced with small and large dogs, from Maltese to Malinois and Golden Retrievers. Reliable teacher who loves walks, playtime, belly rubs, and caring for pets. I am a teacher on summer break. I am available mostly weekdays, but open to weekends when free. I would only have to leave for an hour to go to the gym. I enjoy getting outside for walks during the day and love taking dogs to parks and open trails for fresh air, exercise, fun, and adventure.
“We couldn’t be happier with our experience! Alexia went above and beyond to make sure Cinco was comfortable, loved, and well taken care of. Communication was excellent, and it gave us total peace of mind while we were away. We will definitely be using her again!”

“Jeremiah was extremely responsive and easy going. I could tell by the pictures each day that our dogs warmed up to him quickly. He is patient and reliable and we look forward to working with him again in the future.”

About: I have had dogs my entire life and currently have five. Taking care and raising dogs has always been something I love to do. We just had a litter of puppies that I helped raise and train. I am willing to take care of any dogs, as well as, walk them. I can care for puppies if needed! As I am home for break I am free any day of the week at any time. This will decrease once school starts again. I am willing to do late night and early morning visits as well. I am willing to deal with multiple dogs in a clients home. If dogs need to be walked separately I can do that as well. I am use to having to deal with different personalities of dogs and know that the clients know best. Whatever directions the clients give me I will be sure to follow.
“Juliana was awesome taking care of our Greyhound. She constantly kept us up to date for our entire trip. The best part when we returned home, our house was totally clean. I will definitely book with her again. Five star rating, for sure!!”

“Patti did a fantastic job with our boys. She walked them daily, cared for them with compassion and made sure they were always ok when she was not there. She kept us informed with daily pictures and notes, which we greatly appreciated. We were happy at how well both dogs bonded with her; especially Ollie our oldest who tends to be more introverted than his younger sibling. We hope to use Patti again in the future for any of our planned trips. Very grateful for her care of our dogs.”

“Alix did a great job keeping our dogs company while we were out of town. She is a dog lover and our dogs recognized it immediately. She took them for walks and sent us photos letting us know that all was ok. She made our weekend easy and enjoyable. We hope to use her again.”

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and genuinely love caring for them. Over the years, I’ve helped take care of dogs for family, friends, and neighbors—everything from quick drop-ins to longer stays while they’re out of town. I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes and personalities, including high-energy dogs that need lots of activity and older dogs that need a slower, more gentle approach. I’ve handled feeding routines, daily walks, crate training, and giving medications when needed. I understand that every pet is different, so I take the time to learn their routine and what makes them feel comfortable. Whether that’s extra playtime, sticking to a strict schedule, or just giving them attention and reassurance, I adjust to what works best for your pet. I also know how important communication is, so I always keep owners updated with messages and photos so you never have to wonder how your pet is doing. I offer part-time availability with a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. I’m reliable, responsive, and happy to coordinate timing that works best for you and your pet. I provide a safe, comfortable environment with a fully fenced yard for secure outdoor time. Pets are always supervised, well cared for, and treated like part of the family.

I'm always available during the week because my work schedule is very flexible. l've enjoyed and cared for pets of all types over the years including cats, small and medium-sized dogs, bunnies, turtles and hamsters. I pride myself on being loving and attentive to all animals, especially when considered another beloved member of the family. Providing special care, like spending more active time outside or meeting dietary needs, is a given with me. There's never a need to worry about your pet but I'm happy to text updates regularly! I also have some experience watching over sick dogs and providing instructed care for nursing back to full health
“Kimberly was awesome. She took good care of my little girl Amber and I could not have been happier. My dog has a slight allergic reaction and Kimberly handled it perfectly. Her communication and flexibility were great. I will definitely plan on using Kimberly again and would highly recommend her!”

About: I enjoy taking care of a variety of pets, and have helped care for many over the years. I have experience from everything as small as hamsters up to horses. I currently have dogs, cats, ferrets, and a horse. Many friends and family have relied on me for advice or to care for their pets. I’m available most days any time after 8am for pet sitting or dog walks! I can also do multiple drop in visits throughout the day! Normally at home I feed the dogs dinner, my mother does breakfast! FAQs for House Sitting - La Crosse
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 225 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across La Crosse. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred La Crosse walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in La Crosse maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in La Crosse choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in La Crosse. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
