I currently work afternoon shifts from 2 pm to 10 pm, which means I’m fully available in the mornings for walks, drop-in visits, and quality time with your dog. My days off are usually Tuesdays and Wednesdays, when I have full availability and flexibility. About: Aloha! My name is Duncan Anderson, and I’m proud to say I was born and raised on the beautiful Big Island of Hawaii. Throughout my life, I’ve had the joy of working with a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, chickens, and horses. I manage a three-acre homestead where I’ve gained extensive experience caring for and nurturing these wonderful creatures. In addition, I spent time working on a farm in Kohala, where we raised chickens and pigs. This hands-on experience has deepened my understanding of animal husbandry and farming practices. About: I moved to the Big Island three months ago and caretake 7 acres with my fiancée Kindra. It’s been awhile since I’ve used Rover, but with my new free time and love of animals, I decided to get back on. My experience: since the day I was born I have lived with animals. My mother, being a veterinary technician with 20+ years of experience, always encouraged me to volunteer at the animal shelter by walking and feeding the dogs, cleaning their teeth and dishes, playing outside with them, and providing love and compassion. I love being outdoors and going to the beaches or local parks for walks and running, but also enjoy curling up on the couch and watching a movie with a fur baby to relax after a long day. A quick phone call to my mother allows me to ask any question about your dog or cat’s specific breed in order to better care for them. However, in an emergency situation, I am well equipped with the knowledge and confidence to conduct any first aid. My farm work schedule is very flexible and I have my own vehicle to get around at all hours of the day and night. As much advanced notice as possible is appreciated. Whatever is needed or requested, consider it done. I take the fur babies safety and comfort very seriously, both physically and emotionally. I treat every animal as if they were my own.

About: My dog is my baby. If I could take her every place possible, just know she’d be by my side. She is my family. Let me take your dog out and treat them with as much love and care as I do for my dog💙 I wake up early in the mornings and take my dog out on a walk as well as when I get home from work. We take long walks and stop to take in all that nature has to offer. We often head over to the dog park to play with the other puppers and it’s her favorite time of day. My dog is currently indoors but I do spend quite a bunch of time outside with her as well. We have a small yard that we are planning on fencing in so my dog has more place to run and play.

I’ve worked with a wide variety of species, including exotic hoofstock and birds in a zoological setting, as well as pigs, goats, and birds through wildlife rescue and animal care work. In addition, I spent approximately three years working in an animal shelter environment, where I handled and photographed thousands of dogs to help them find loving homes. Through that experience, I learned how to safely interact with dogs of all sizes, ages, temperaments, and energy levels. I’m a small business owner and public school teacher, which gives me a structured but flexible schedule that works well for pet care. I currently have more availability during weekends, school holidays, and breaks (especially during the summer months), when I can offer extended and consistent care for pets and house sitting. During the school year on regular weekdays, I’m typically available in the mornings and evenings, with greater flexibility on weekends. About: Grown up with dogs & cats. I consider myself an animal mooch as I am always hanging out with my friends and familys dogs or Rover. due to my work lifestyle. I am a Firefighter / Emergency Medical Technician. Love animals and all that comes with it. I can take your pup hiking or just around the block depending on the circumstance. (Or type of dog). I live for the wild and spend most of my winter traveling & snowboarding. Cannot have animals myself due to my schedule during the summer time so I try to live through others pets haha. About: **I AM TRAVELING OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY STARTING 5/20/26 AND WILL BE BLOCKING MY CALENDAR TILL I KNOW I WILL RETURN. ** I travel off island often and can't have my own puppy family, so I will watch your fur-babies like they are my own! I enjoy the adventure of pup-sitting at homes all over the island. I work remotely so am able to be away from my place for long stretches of time. While I like to explore the local areas I stay in, I will mostly be snuggled up with your fur-babies typing away. I am a veteran with Rover- In fact I have been pet-sitting before Rover existed using Craigslist. I have a huge love for all animals and am very experienced with caring for different types of animals and breeds. I am patient, and gentle with a huge heart for animals. I understand every household has different culture. I always try and mimic all the rules of the home. Pets not allowed on the couch? no problem. Dogs like to sleep in the bed with owners? I am an expert puppy snugger. Perhaps the best. I will try and reinforce all commands and rules so there is a seamless transition upon your return. When dog-sitting in your home I will leave it better than I found it and happily respect boundaries and house rules. * My property is in Hilo but I am open to sitting at homes all over the island. In fact, I love to! I will text picture updates to my clients so they feel comforted that their sweetheart is being loved on. Why I love dog sitting: I had a Golden Retriever rescue for over 15 years till he passed 10 years ago. I travel a lot and didn't think it was fair to get another dog, but have been pet sitting since. I LOVE having dog energy still around... and the friendships I have made with my puppy parents. For my lifestyle it's the best of both worlds! I work remotely so am very flexible with my schedule and love having pets around to love on while exploring new and interesting locations on this beautiful island. My place is in Hilo but am open to doing pet sit stays all around the Big Island. Initial meeting can be done with a zoom call before meet and greet if too far from my area. I can also do house drop in visits if it coordinates with my location at the time needed. Right now I am primarily house sitting since my property does not have a fenced yard. I will match your schedule as best as possible and take care of your place the way you desire.

About: An animal lover since I was a little girl, I’ve happily cared for many pets and animals in my life, including horses, dogs, cats, birds, fish, guinea pigs, even a snake! I adore all animals and think we can learn a lot from them, but I have a soft spot for our furry four legged friends. Over the years I’ve cared for many neighbors’, friend’s and family pets while they’ve been away, whether house sitting or inviting their pets into my cozy home for a little staycation. I don’t have any pets currently and am dearly missing the company, so I’d love to care for yours! I’m a very cuddly, attentive, reliable and playful pet owner who will shower your pet with love and care, and send many photos and updates. About: My dog of 15 years (lab mix) died a few years ago. I miss her, but travel a few times a year and don't want to leave a dog that long. I have lots of love to give and I love walking with a dog. I have extensive house and dog sitting experience with references. I send owners photos of their happy pups while caring for your pet as if were my own. I work at home (writer and online teacher) so your pet will be by my side during the day and we will take frequent walks together, if your pet likes that. I work at home and walk several times a day so I can bring your pet with me if they’d like to go for a walk. I’m also affectionate with animals, and they are affectionate with me so cuddles will be on the agenda. I have a park nearby and access to nearby home wirh fenced where I could visit with your pet so they could run around even more.
