About: I have always had a soft spot for animals. I began working in the medical field but once I became a stay at home mom I realized something was missing.. my heart was in the place to care for animals instead. When my youngest was just under 2 I started taking on small dog walking jobs to get us out of the house during Covid and enjoying some fresh air and I really just fell in love with it. I have my own "misfit farm" of unwanted animals and in my down time I am taking on dog walking/pet sitting. I am knowledgeable in many animals including dogs, cats birds, small animals, exotics and farm animals. I currently own a Great Pyrenees, two cane corsos, beagle and we recently lost our mini dachshund, a cat plus 3 rescue goats, bunnies and a ton of chickens. I can also help with basic training and using an E collar. Medications or special needs animals is also something I am comfortable with. I do have kids who love to go on walks with me when I am dog walking, but it is not necessary for them to come with . My dog sitting calendar is filling up quickly! At this moment I am boarding dogs on a case by case basis so just reach out and we can chat! I am available for house sitting, however cannot accommodate regular overnight stays but can accommodate frequent and lengthy visits. I am a mom to 3, but am pretty much open and available for your needs. Hanging out with animals is a strong passion of mine and I often use the extra cash to do things with my kids. I cannot accommodate overnights in my house sitting but can offer lengthy and frequent visits I am available for walking, feeding, caring, loving and walking your babies of whatever species and breed. I am extremely responsible and comfortable with administering medication if need be and am very cautious when it comes to walking or letting the animal outside or when it comes to rules you have for your pet. There is very little I wouldn't be able to do, so little I can't even think of one at the moment. You can trust that I will love and care for your animals like they were my own. I can even show you pictures and videos of my very spoiled pets for reference!

Jessica is amazing!! My cat is a little shy but she won him over right away. He was so excited to see her every day (and not just because she was there to feed him). She always stayed the whole visit time with him and gave him attention and pets and play time, and her updates made me feel so much better while I was away. We’ll definitely be asking Jessica to watch our boy if/when we go away again.

About: Hi there! My name is Sam and I have experience sitting for all types of animals. From cuddly Pyrenees, and scary-smart German pinschers, to spunky chinchillas, their best cat friends, and curious pythons. I have been through partial behavioral training for dogs (and their humans), and have experience with animal hospice situations, as well as behaviorally aggressive dogs. I prefer to keep the animal's care as consistent as possible. The more details you have of your preferred method of walking, reward, or preparation habits, the better. Trust and care are my number one goals when it comes to animal sitting. Not just with the four legged babies, but with the parents as well. I know how important it is to feel comfortable with your care provider, and what a treat it is to know that you can trust someone with the care of your loved ones. Also, aren't dogs just perfect? I work for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and am currently on telework, so my weekly availability is early morning, and late afternoon. I also volunteer at the Old Dominion Humaine Society and occasionally foster for them at my house. I have one <1 year old puppy, and I have a home with a large yard but no fence. That means all foster dogs get leash walked always and there are many mind teaser toys for rainy days. I feed in crates and make it a safe space for them to decompress.

About: Hi! I’m Cami, and I live in Fredericksburg with my husband, daughter, and our two cats. I’m a preschool teacher and have been caring for pets since I was 12 years old. Over the years, family, friends, and neighbors have trusted me to walk, feed, and care for their pets while they’re away. I enjoy spending time with animals and understand how important it is to know they’re in good hands. I’d love the opportunity to care for your pet and make sure they’re comfortable, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friend! I’m currently on maternity leave, which allows me to be available full-time over the next few weeks for pet care, boarding, and drop-in visits. During the school year, I work as a full-time preschool teacher from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., but I’m available before and after work, overnight, and on weekends. I’m happy to work around my teaching schedule to provide reliable care for your pets! We have plenty of space around our home for walks and outdoor time. Our two cats are very friendly and comfortable around other animals. I’m also able to accommodate crating if needed and can care for multiple pets when appropriate.

Melissa was amazing doing a drop-in visit for our four doggies while we were out all day! We have one dog who is pretty shy as she was feral, and I loved seeing a photo where she actually was by Melissa! Shows us Melissa has great vibes and energy, and when the dogs approve, so do us humans! Thank you so much Melissa!!💜

About: "Looking for a sitter who truly speaks animal? I have spent my entire life caring for an incredible variety of pets, giving me the unique skills needed to handle almost any animal family. My experience includes giant dog breeds (English Mastiffs and Great Pyrenees), livestock (horses, chickens, and goat herds), and exotic reptiles. Today, I am a proud parent to a cat and two Holland Lop rabbits! Because I have lived alongside animals my whole life, I excel at reading their body language, vocal cues, and unique personalities. I am ready to provide a premium, loving, and safe environment for your babies!" I'm newly a father and am currently on paid family leave, and am available most days. My daily routine includes waking around 3am and getting the day started. I have several 2 hour blocks of time throughout my day that are not currently filled with any activities, perfect for caring for your pets! In My Home (Cat & Rabbit Friendly): Separate Zones: I maintain dedicated, safe zones for my resident cat and two Holland Lop rabbits to prevent stress. About: I treat every pet like family and tailor my care to their unique needs. Whether it’s patiently helping a puppy learn routines, giving extra love and support to senior pets, or just making sure your furry friend feels safe and happy while you're away—I’m here for it all. I have hands-on experience with dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments, including senior pets who need gentler care and dogs who require medication. I’m also comfortable with basic training and reinforcing good habits for puppies. Your pet’s comfort, safety, and happiness are my top priorities. I take the time to understand their personality, routines, and quirks, so you can relax knowing they’re in good hands. Pet care is a meaningful part of my daily life, and I’ve structured my routine to make sure your pet gets the attention they deserve. I work full-time during the week, but I’m fortunate to live close to my job, which allows me to come home on my lunch break for walks, potty breaks, or a little mid-day playtime. My weekends are completely free, giving me plenty of time for longer visits, overnights, or extended care. Whether it’s weekday check-ins or weekend companionship, I’m committed to keeping your pet happy, safe, and loved. Whether I’m caring for pets in your home or mine, I focus on providing a safe, loving, and low-stress environment tailored to each pet’s individual needs. In Your Home: I follow your pet’s routine as closely as possible—mealtimes, walks, play, medications, and anything else that helps them feel comfortable and cared for. I treat your home with respect and keep you updated with messages and photos so you always know how your pet is doing. In My Home: I offer a quiet, pet-friendly space with plenty of attention, affection, and time outdoors (for dogs). I do have one friendly cat who is both indoor and outdoor, so I always ensure any visiting pets are comfortable and safely introduced, if needed. I also limit the number of pets I care for at a time to ensure each one gets plenty of individual attention. No matter the setting, your pet’s well-being and happiness are my top priorities.

  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
