About: I have taken care of various animals! I have been around animals my entire life and I’m trying to find a way to include more animals in my life and help others along the way. My schedule is pretty open! During the summer I enjoy being outdoors which is perfect for your pet (or most!). I will spend as much time as needed! I will not be able to care for pets in my own home but I am willing to travel to homes for pet sitting / walking.
“Sabrina continues to be on time, competent, and professional. I highly value her consistency and good energy! She does well administering our cat her medication, and follows specific directions for feeding. Happy she's available and would recommend!”

“Abby is awesome! Abby spent time with to learn our two cats. Abby is wonderful to work with and makes your time away from home stress free. I am lucky to have met Abby. She quickly figured out both of our unique kitties! 🐈 😺”

“DelilahaLynn Was absolutely wonderful. She took care of my elderly cat and sent me wonderful pictures of him. Our trip ended up being extended, and she absolutely had no problem with taking care of him for a few more days. I will absolutely book her again when I go on my next trip. I believe you can trust your fur babies in her care.”
“Thank you for checking in on our girls while we were gone! I was worried about being away from them, but your updates made it easier! We will definitely recommend you to others and use tou in the future”

“I hired Emalee to cat/house sit. She was an amazing cat sitter. She treated them as if they were her own. She sent lots of pictures and kept me updated. I would totally recommend her and I will definitely be using her again in the future.”

About: I have had dogs, cats, and other furry friends my whole life, and 10+ years of experience pet sitting. I also have 2+ years of hands on experience working in a sanctuary environment caring for rescue animals. I feed, watered, cleaned, walked, enriched, loved and cared for dogs and cats of all ages, temperaments, breeds, and sizes. I'm currently working part time, so my pet care availability is very open and flexible! Reach out and we can work out a convenient time for you and your furry friend! When caring for pets in their owner’s home, I focus on keeping them comfortable, happy, and following their normal routine. I’ll provide plenty of love and attention, fresh food and water, walks and playtime, medication if needed, and keep their space clean and safe. I’ll also respect the owner’s home and provide regular updates so they can feel confident their pets are well cared for while they’re away.

“Ellie was a wonderful house sitter for my cat Cecil! She has a warm personality, which my baby immediately sensed when meeting her. It's clear that Ellie loves animals, and from my experience, knows how to care for them. I arrived home to a clean house and a happy kitty. She sent me cute pics, and was great with communication while I was away. I highly recommend Ellie anyone who needs pet care for in home or a drop-in visit, and will definitely book her again in the future.”

“Wonderful care for my three shy kitties! I cannot recommend Katherine highly enough! She recently cared for my three cats, and did an amazing job from start to finish. She was always punctual, and she kept in touch throughout. Whenever she had a question, she texted me right away, and she sent photos to make sure she was doing everything exactly the way I wanted. That attention to detail gave me real peace of mind while I was away. She took care of all the essentials thoughtfully, not only filling the food and water bowls but washing them too, and she kept the litter boxes clean throughout. What impressed me most, though, was how gently she approached my kitties. They are quite skittish, and Katherine respected that, interacting with them delicately and patiently rather than forcing anything. One of them even came out to see her at feeding time, which says a lot about how calm and trustworthy she is. When I came home, all three kitties seemed relaxed and content, which is the best sign that they were in good hands. Katherine is reliable, caring, and clearly loves animals. I will definitely be booking her again, and I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for a sitter, also for shy or nervous cats.”

“This is the second time we have had Carissa care for our cats while we are away. She is PHENOMENAL!! We have used Rover a lot and had many sitters over the years. Carissa is hands down the BEST!”

About: I am a pre-veterinary student with a lifelong love of animals. I grew up caring for three dogs, which taught me how to be patient, responsible, and attentive to each pet’s individual needs. I also have experience working in a veterinary office, where I gained valuable knowledge about animal care, behavior, and safety. I would love the opportunity to care for your pets and will treat them with the same love and attention I give my own. Pet care is a natural part of my daily life since I have three dogs of my own. Feeding, walking, grooming, and playing with them is just built into my routine. I genuinely enjoy the structure and joy they bring, and caring for animals has become second nature to me. At home, I keep my dogs on a consistent routine with feeding, walks, play, and grooming. I’ll care for your pets the same way—with love, attention, and reliability, making sure they feel safe and happy while in my care.

“I can't say enough good things about Johnna. This was my first time having Johnna pet sit for my dog and three casts. She sent me several pictures of the pets and wrote informative reviews of how they were doing. Johnna walked Flossy, my dog each day. She was meticulous in terms of picking up after the animals. When I returned I found the house in order. Johnna is pleasant to work with. I highly recommend her.”

“Jamie made sure both of my kitties had plenty of food. He stayed for an hour each time. They were warming up to him by the fourth day. He will do what you want him to do to take care of your kitties. Thank you, Jamie”

“Robyn was very punctual and sent timely updates after each visit. I knew our boy was in good hands in her care. I would absolutely work with Robyn again for my large breed guardian dog. Thank you Robyn”

About: I’ve taken care of lots of pets over the years. I enjoy being around animals and showing them love because they do the same for us! I have a genuine love for taking care of things if I can help it and I’m going to school to even become a nurse. I also started a house plant hobby. Taking care of things is just in my blood. I’m available more in the evenings . My schedule is flexible but inconsistent because I’m part time at my jobs but we can discuss availability if you book me to take care of your pet(s)! I have a fenced in back yard and just one cat. I’m able to keep them separated if needed. I also have my own home and it’s a smoke free one! I’m very clean and clean my home daily. I let my cat on the couches so yours will be allowed the same if they are not dirty of course.
“Such a great experience and a wonderful caring human to watch over our fur babies! Sent lots of updates while we were away and followed all of the care instructions for our cats. Thank you so much. 100% recommend!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
