“Courtney was amazing! She took great care of our pets! We had a lot trying to keep us from going on our trip but Courtney handled it like a pro! Very dependable and responsible!”

“What can I say? Anastasiia won my cat, Julie's heart over. Julie does not like people, traveling or being alone so you can imagine the predicament. During our first meeting, Anastasiia walked in and Julie investigated, and let her be petted, immediately. I knew at that point. During my trip, Anastasiia sent updates and pictures of Julie playing and basking outside. I didn't have to worry about what was happening at home. If you are looking for a pet whisperer, Anastasiia is your sitter.”

“Leland is very nice. He was attentive to my girls 🐶🐶. Very punctual. Responded to messages quickly. He sent me photos of the girls while we were away and wrote about them too. I really appreciated that. I came home to a clean house and happy dogs. I will hire Leland again.”

About: Hi! I’ve been around dogs my entire life and caring for them has always come naturally to me. I’m a proud dog parent to two of my own babies, so I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets. I have previous experience working at a doggie daycare, where I cared for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities. I’ve also helped friends by pet sitting and caring for their pets like they were my own. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, cuddles, or just loving company, I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I’m currently a stay at home student. I am completing my masters degree fully online while taking care of my 2 adorable dogs. I have a very flexible and open schedule due to being remote. I have a variety of experience with different dogs. I have a fenced in backyard so my dogs are able to run around outside when I need to leave the house. However, my friends dog that I sometimes watch have to be left inside a crate when no one is around. I fully understand that no one dog is the same
“Ashleigh was fantastic! She was incredibly communicative and sent tons of photos. She showed so much care for our dogs and would update us with anything unusual she noticed or if anything happened to one of them. She was also more than willing to clean up big messes from our puppies which was great! Would definitely recommend Ashleigh to watch and care for your pets!”

About: My attention to detail and helping ensure pet parents have a relaxing time on vacay by proving top-tier care sets me apart from other sitters. I like to send pictures I’ve taken throughout the day to pet parents and let them know what we did for the day. My 3+ years of experience working at a doggy daycare has helped me understand our furry friends. I’ve taken care of dogs of all ages - puppies to seniors, given meds, and took care of a dog with paralyzed back legs. Love providing care for our furry friends! I’m currently working part time in the evenings typically on the weekends. Other than that, I’m free during the day/night. I typically work 4/5 hours in the evening. I’m off by 9 pm at the latest. For previous client care, I’ve either stayed overnight at their house or made several trips during the day and evening. If I stay overnight, I wake up let them outside to go potty and then feed breakfast (if they get it). Let them out again after breakfast. If I didn’t stay over night, then I would arrive in the morning and do the same process as if I stayed overnight. I will hang out with them and let them go outside to potty several times throughout the day. I will also try and play fetch if they like that. For dinner, it’s the same process as breakfast. I’ve also taken some dogs on walks to get their exercise in. Anything to keep our furry friends needs met!
“I really appreciate the time and care. Emily took with taking care of my babies. Being able to watch them in my home meant so much to me with me traveling it keeps the dogs feeling comfortable and I really appreciated that from her. I can tell that the dogs really enjoyed her and the time they were able to spend they were just as happy when I left as when I got home. I think her so much will definitely be booking with her again.”

“Anna did such a good job caring for Mowgli and communicating with me. Mowgli is currently a very involved medical case, and Anna took on the challenge like a pro. She restricted his activity (no easy feat with a large breed puppy), changed countless bandages (including purchasing more supplies), gave oral medication, used a light therapy device, and brushed his teeth! All the while she was sending me photos of Mowgli and commenting how cute he was. She even bought him a toy! I am so relieved that the person taking care of my whole world (!) loved him like I do. Her passion and ability to follow detailed instructions helped Mowgli continue to heal in my absence. I will certainly book Anna again and encourage anyone looking for a dependable caretaker to do the same. Thank you, Anna ♥️”

About: Hello! I’m Tara, and animals have been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up caring for dogs, cats, and horses, and I competed in eventing through my mid-twenties—so I’m comfortable with pets of all sizes, energy levels, and personalities. My significant other, Mike, and I work together as a team to provide attentive, 1:1 in-home boarding with plenty of supervision, exercise, and affection. I’m happy to accommodate special routines and needs (senior care, medications, shy/anxious pups, or high-energy dogs who need extra play and structure). Tell me what helps your dog feel safest and happiest, and we’ll tailor their care to match. I work in childcare part time and Mike is a gig worker with a very flexible schedule. We work together to give your dog the benefit of in person care. Regular business hours are preferred but not mandatory. We strived to meet your dog care needs and requirements while giving your babies all the love and attention they deserve. We may ask a lot of questions but the more we know, the better we can customize the care for your dog. We have a nice size yard with. We also have a large deck for lounging.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Kentucky on Rover is $39.96 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Kentucky walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Kentucky maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kentucky choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
