“Christina has been so amazing for me and my dog Copper. She is amazing at communicating, was patient when my dog was nervous and took a little extra time warming up! She took great photos and made sure he went potty, played with him, and even took him for a walk! Thank you so much!”

“Lauryn did a great job for us by feeding our dog, and taking him for quick walks 2x a day. She also came over during a major storm, and checked the house for us when we lost power. She informed us of anything needed and did a great job communicating with us for anything if needed. Thanks very much!”

“Cristina was amazing!! She showed up on time each day and took Kicho for a walk, feed him, and let him out of the kennel! She even stopped by on a Sunday to see all through the steps before showing up on Monday! I would fully recommend her to anyone on the island!! Thank you for the help!!”

“I would highly recommend Uriah for dog sitting. He took such wonderful care of my two fur babies while I was away and gave me peace of mind knowing they were safe, comfortable, and well cared for. He was dependable, caring, and attentive to their needs. I truly appreciate the love and care he showed them and would definitely trust him again with my dogs.”

“Sarah took great care of our 3 cats, sending us pictures every day and letting us know how they were doing. We had a slightly unusual situation, with one of our cats extremely frightened and in isolation from the others, and Sarah handled it all with grace. We took comfort in knowing our kitties were in good hands!”

“Diana is amazing! Very on it, extra communicative, asked detailed questions and sent lots of pics and updates. So happy to have found her! Nice lil extra touches that went above and beyond. Yay!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Kapaa
Megan is amazing 🤩 She is super responsive, responsible, and kind. My kitties adore her and she takes extra care to show them affection. My indoor cat had an accident on a rug, and without hesitation, Megan got it cleaned up and even worked on the smell days later. She didn’t make a big deal of it even though I was horrified, ha! This time, I needed a sitter on very short notice, and Megan made herself available. She even took the time to meet with me in-person before the job started to review a change in care-plan since the last time she took care of my cats. Always a pleasure, and never have to worry about her not showing up or not knowing what to do. My kitties were very happy & at peace when I returned home. I can’t recommend Megan enough!! 💜❤️

Once again, Megan exceeded my expectations! She accepted my request with short notice, which really helped with my trip preparations. She always checks in and sends pictures. Also, my senior cat is having appetite & eating issues. She has been taking extra care with him - whether sitting with him during feedings, or moving his bowl to new locations for variety. It just really touches my heart that she cares. She’s the best!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
