“Christian has looked after our cats for years now and there’s no one we trust more. He always makes sure their feeding, medicine, and nighttime routines are followed. And he makes sure to send pictures and videos for us to see what cute shenanigans they’re up to. He’ll always be our first call when we need our four-legged babies looked after whether it be days, weeks, or months.”

“Grace and Benji took such good care of our pups for our wedding weekend! She gave regular updates and pictures, and even left us a little wedding gift 😊 would 100% use her again!”

“Emalie was a great sitter for our two dogs and two cats. She was very communicative and shared photos of our littles daily. She followed our care instructions and was conscientious of each animals specific needs. We look forward to hiring her again!”

“Fawn was amazing. I can’t recommend her enough. We have a dog with behavioral issues that also takes medication everyday, she handled it so well. We were gone for over a week and not once did I feel uncomfortable, nervous or anxious. We will definitely be booking with Fawn again. THE BEST!”

“Katelynn is a sweet and thoughtful sitter! She was very respectful of finding ways to help with our homecoming. She kept us informed and updated photos very well. Katelynn has a gift with animals and is missed at our home.”

“Samantha was absolutely wonderful with our dogs. From the moment she arrived, she brought such calm, kind energy that both pups connected with her right away. She kept us updated throughout her stay with thoughtful messages and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She followed every routine we shared, paid close attention to their personalities and needs, and made sure they felt safe, loved, and comfortable the entire time. We came home to happy dogs and a tidy house — truly the best feeling. We are so grateful for her care and professionalism. Samantha is dependable, compassionate, and clearly loves what does. We will be booking her again.”

About: I’ve loved and been obsessed with animals of all different kinds for as long as I can remember. I grew up around lots of dogs and have always felt so at home with them. I also have experience with cats, goats, horses, reptiles, amphibians, you name it! I grew up going to camps with farm animals and had friends with llamas and horses and I always enjoyed helping them. As a kid I would take care of neighbors or my friends dogs or cats when they needed it. I have a very deep love for animals and being able to turn that passion into a job has been really special for me. I run my own business from home so my schedule is extremely flexible. I’m happy to visit your pets whenever is best for you. I love taking pictures and will gladly send you video and picture updates! I love tending to each pets needs and finding what works best for them. Whether that’s playing and getting them really tired or providing them company, I want your pets to be as happy and comfortable as possible. I will treat your pet as if it were my own and hopefully I can provide you with some peace of mind while you’re away 😊 I’m available for early mornings, mid day, or evening visits. Weekdays and weekends. I have a very active life style and enjoy being outside. My love of animals and being outdoors go hand in hand and it works perfectly for me. I really love getting down and dirty and keeping your pet(s) happy and healthy I’m very adaptable to fit what works best for each pet parent. I can feed and replace water bowls, play, run around in the backyard with them, scoop poop, give medication, give love and pets, or simply just company. I can also work on training and go on walks
“Leeah was amazing with our dog Coco. Coco requires a lot of love, attention, and play and Leeah was so good at providing that for our girl. Leeah was communicative, very respectful of our home, and arguably left it cleaner than we left her with it! Thanks again!! We will have her back anytime 😄”

“There is no praise I can give Shelby that comes close to encapsulating our experience of having her watch our young American pitbull terrier— she was truly extraordinary, and I felt confident the entire time that our goofy baby was in excellent hands. She is professional, thorough, kind, and meticulous. Our neighbors saw how much she played with Barkleby in the yard and requested her info for their next trip because they were so impressed with her diligence in making sure he got enough exercise, and how much time she spent caring for him! For as long as Shelby is offering pet-sitting services, she will be the first person we call. Thank you so much! 🥰”

“Lolita is the best sitter I have ever worked with. Our vacation was truly relaxing because we had the relief of knowing our fur babies were well cared for. Lolita sent us photo or video updates at every meal, walk and playtime - it was obvious our dogs were having a staycation!! I highly endorse Lolita and will definitely continue to book her.”

“Jessica was great, very communicative sending daily updates and pix. Our cat can be high maintenance and Jessica tried many things while reading the room on how our cat was feeling for the day.”

“Jessica is awesome, and so is George! Our dog Bria is very much a home body and picky about the humans she chooses to befriend. Bria and Jessica did great together, and Bria loved playing with George! Jessica communicates well and was a pleasure to work with. We would not hesitate to use Jessica again. Bria said it's okay, and she's the one we are trying to please! :-)”

“What a great first-time Rover experience. Kayleigh was on top of everything - reliable, dependable, and courteous. She updated us regularly with texts and photos during our trip. She was kind and loving toward our pets and took our dog on regular walks. She followed the instructions we provided during our initial meet-and-greet without issue. That first meeting let us know that Kayleigh would be a great person to watch our beloved "children." We would recommend her to anyone looking for a house or pet sitter. We will certainly contact her again in the future.”

“Alex was wonderful with my dog Dexter. She was very communicative leading up to and throughout her stay, sending plenty of photo and video updates that showed the effort she made to connect with him. It was clear Dexter felt happy and comfortable in her care. I also appreciated that she took the additional time to ensure the home was clean when I returned. Highly recommend Alex! She’s a caring and reliable sitter!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Kanaskat Junction
Paeyton was the quickest to respond to our in-home dog-sitting request and was professional, responsive, and attentive from the start. She communicated consistently before our trip and scheduled a meet-and-greet right away, which gave us great peace of mind. When we returned, our home was in better condition than when we left, and our dog was happy and well cared for. She even went above and beyond by tending to our dog’s injured foot, which was almost completely healed when we returned. She also did some unexpected touch-up cleaning, including the dishes, which we greatly appreciated. A few more detailed check-ins including photos or videos while we were away may have been nice, but overall, we had an excellent experience. We highly recommend Paeyton to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and responsible sitter for their furry baby. We would absolutely book her again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Kanaskat Junction walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Kanaskat Junction maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kanaskat Junction choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
