“Jeanne is the best! I left my two Dalmatians with Jeanne over the holidays while my husband and I traveled to California. She sent us photos everyday of our doggies and responds very quickly through text! Highly recommend Jeanne! This is the second time we have left them with her and will continue in the future! Thank you for taking care of my babies so well Jeanne!❤️”

“Amazing! Would highly recommend. Knew my Bear was loved and cared for. Was able to help us with short notice after a my wife and I have been dealing with a tree falling on our house. Very grateful!”

“Chelsea was amazing with our 2 golden retrievers. She made them feel right at home so much so that they slept on her couch (which I don’t even permit in my home😊). Her son was also our younger one’s best friend as he tirelessly threw the ball for her! She sent many pictures and updates and was so sweet when talking about them. We already have her booked for another visit and undoubtedly will use Chelsea again. She is a true animal lover!”

“Katherine was an amazing sitter! She made sure to send updates on how my cat was doing as well as pictures and she responded very quickly if I had any questions. Will definitely be rebooking !”

“Daniel and Rachel were wonderful with Yote and Tofu! They sent us daily pictures and updates, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We really appreciated all the walks and having a fenced in yard for them to enjoy. Both dogs seemed happy and well cared for when we picked them up. We would definitely have them watch Yote and Tofu again!”

“Stephanie was amazing with our not so easy pups. She made our daycation relaxing and stress free! We got pictures and updates all day long. Would highly recommend!”

“Maya is great with the dog. She takes a good care of my dog Maddie. She sent pictures every day to keep us up to date. I would definitely send my dog to her next time when we need and certainly recommend her to everyone who needs a dog care.”

“Amanda and her husband were angels! We have a special needs cat, and they didn’t even bat an eye at the over and above attention that Orange needed. He was loved and taken care of and we were able to enjoy our vacation knowing he was safe. Best Rover out there!! We will be return customers for sure! Thank you!!!!!”

“Ronda is an amazing dog sitter!! She was friendly with us as well as the dog. I felt confident after the play meet because she let our good dog kairi run around in every room and outside. The house was very clean, freshly scented and safe for dogs. We were sent pictures everyday without asking or bothering her. We had no complaints for a whole 9 days on vacation to California. We will always contact her for future dog sitting no matter the duration. We trust her and she’s a good, nice, modern, casual, and sweet person. Easy to talk with and recommend her for sure upon being strangers. Ronda watched our pitbull with confidence with all the true information about Kairi. It worked out. Thank you so much!!”

“Absolutely recommend! They took care of my IZZY and gave her lots of love and attention. I also received updates on my girl with pictures. They are great sitters will definitely use again.”

“If there was a rate of 10 stars Briana would get it! The communication is fabulous along with the pictures of our sweet Samoyed with her family and their dog, Duke. We are at easy knowing our sweet boy is being well taken care of when we travel.”

About: What sets me apart is the love and attention I give to every pet I care for. I treat every animal like they are my own and take the time to learn their personality, routines, and individual needs. I’m patient, responsible, and always want pets to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I also understand how important it is to have someone you can trust with your pets, so I make communication and updates a priority. My goal is for both you and your pet to feel comfortable and confident in my care. I’m currently a ysu student commuting from home in the Austintown area. I work in home health care 2-4 times a week. I have lots of free time to care for your pets! I care for every pet as if they were my own. In a client’s home, I follow their normal routine and any specific instructions they provide for feeding, medications, walks, playtime, and bedtime. I make sure they have fresh food and water, plenty of attention, and a clean and comfortable space. I also give pets the time they need to feel comfortable with me and always respect their personality and boundaries. I’ll keep you updated with pictures and messages so you can relax knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.

About: Hi! I’m a responsible and dependable person who enjoys being around animals. I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine, and I’m happy to follow whatever works best for you and your pet. Whether your dog needs a good walk, your cat needs some company, or your pets simply need someone to check in while you’re away, I’m here to help. I’ll make sure they’re fed, cared for, exercised, and comfortable while keeping their normal routine as much as possible. I’m respectful of your home, attentive to details, and will keep you updated while you’re away. My goal is simple: make sure your pets are well cared for and that you can enjoy your time away without worrying about them. 🐶 Walks & exercise 🐱 Drop-in visits 🏡 House sitting ❤️ Lots of love and attention 📸 Photo updates so you know your pet is happy I want your pet to feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away, while keeping their normal routine as much as possible. Our days typically include: 🌅 Morning Your pet will start the day with a potty break, fresh water, breakfast, and some playtime or a walk. They’ll have plenty of attention before settling into a relaxed part of the day. ☀️ Midday I work two days a week, but your pet will never be left without a plan. My husband works less than a mile from our home, so he can easily stop by during the workday to let your pet outside, play with them, and give them some extra attention. 🐕 Afternoon On days I’m home, we’ll have additional potty breaks, walks, playtime, and plenty of companionship. I’m happy to adjust the routine based on your pet’s age, energy level, and normal schedule. 🌙 Evening Evenings include dinner, outdoor time, playtime or a walk, and relaxing family time. We’ll finish the night with a final potty break before bedtime. I’m happy to follow your pet’s usual feeding, walking, potty, medication, and sleeping routines so their stay feels as familiar as possible. My goal is simple: while you’re away, your pet should feel safe, loved, comfortable, and cared for—not like they’re just being boarded I have a huge backyard to run and play in if your pet is able. We also have neighborhoods around us to go for long or short walks for exercise. I have no problem with your pet being on the furniture if that is what they are used to. There are currently no other animals in the house, so your pet will get undivided attention. There is an electric fence on our property, but will only be used if the pets’ parent prefers to use it.
“she was great! Took our dog on 2 walks a day(which he really needs) and updated us on his lack of eating from being in new environment. Jenn cooked him up a meal that he gobbled up. She works full time at home, so she is always there. Has a good size yard with a dog run on a overhead wire (which my dog needs as he will take off after any critter)”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Johnston home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Johnston.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Johnston sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
