“As reluctant as I was to allow a stranger to come into my home, I was that much more hesitant to allow a stranger to walk my three dogs, in the end I knew I had no other choice but to hire someone due to my work schedule. While searching I came across Jef’s profile and I decided to go with him in booking dog walking for my three dogs. Jef even came to meet my dogs before he was to begin walking them the following day. From the initial message to the first time meeting, Jef maintained great communication and updated me each day after their walks. Jef definitely has something about him that made my dogs very comfortable around him. He quickly gained their trust and vice versa. Jef is also very persistent and knowledgeable in training dogs and helping to improve any bad leash habits. I will definitely be booking Jef for any future needs and I would definitely recommend him to anyone with pets.”

About: I have been owned by cats and dogs in the past. I recently transferred with my job from the East Coast to Utah, and now reside in Northern California and currently frequent the Humane Society to visit with the cats and dogs waiting for homes. Pet Sitting - I am able to walk them/feed in the mornings and after 5 p.m. Monday-Wednesday and Thursday - Sundays more frequently. I do prefer overnight pet sitting. I am reliable, responsible and have a "knack" with most pets. I do need to know about any behavioral issues (likes to chew on things that aren't their toys for example). Do they do well with new people? I prefer not to sit pit bull terriers, but mixed breeds I don't have a problem with. About: I was raised on a ranch with all kinds of pets. I can't recall life without dogs we are so fortunate to have them in our lives they are unconditional in the love and affection they give . I was in dog rescue for 21 years as a foster. I had 7 dogs all were what was considered not able to be put in a home do to behavior issues the only option for these dogs was to be euthanized so I kept the rejects and had to stop rescue as to the inn was full and I still dog sat for the dogs that had been at my home until a new home was found . I have extensive experience with all types of dogs . I have a cat who pretends dogs do not exist so she just stays away, my cat was a ferel rescue cat and is now a fat and sassy house cat . I have a large home so have part of it sectioned off where her litter box and food are to keep dogs out of both . If I house sit I have experience with farm animals for feeding. I garden so watering is in my range. I'm home 75% of the time so I'm available. I may run a errand but that's about it . If weather permits and you have a road dog car rides with me are perfect. I spend a lot of my time cooking and blogging I cook for seniors in my community. If I'm gardening outside the dogs are welcome to be with me. I have a double lot so plenty of play room . Half of it is fenced for plenty of play room . I have a crate if needed . Your dog will have free roaming access in my home and allowed on the furniture . If I'm sitting your pet in your home it's your home and your rules that I follow . I have passed my Background check here on Rover to take care of your fur babies. I have passed my 2nd Government Background check to take care of children. I have passed my 3rd Goverment Background check to take care of elders . The point is I want you to be assured your fur babies are safe with me .

About: UPDATE: 12/07/2023:Moved to San Jose and do not offer boarding or daycare at this time. My children and I started watching dogs in 2013 as a way for them to have the experience of having a furry friend and the responsibility it teaches. Over the years we have had the pleasure of bonding with regulars (the dogs, cats and sometimes the people too!) learning about breed specific tendencies and characteristics and have and continue to enjoy having the furry guests stay with us. My kids have since grown up and moved out on their own. Restless in my empty nest I have moved on. As such my house is no longer available for boarding. However, I am continuing to house sit which I started doing about a year or so prior to having doggy guests. I am also available for drop in visits and walking services. Feel free to contact me with any questions! Cheers! I work remotely with an occasional trip to visit project sites. My schedule is flexible enough to fit with your pups needs as closely as possible so they have some consistency. Dog/cat/house-sitting provides a familiar environment for the animals to be most comfortable in. However, a potential issue arises when a dog is particularly territorial and the sitter seen as an invader. Please keep this in mind when requesting a house-sitter. As the temporary care taker of the domain and those subject to that sphere of influence I do my utmost to keep things as normal and routine as absentee authority. Having a stranger in the home can make people a bit uneasy. Cameras in "common areas" can help bring some relief. Being able to "pop in" is convenient. If you do not have cameras we can schedule video chats if you like. Trust is built over time and communication about likes and dislikes is very much appreciated. I do not have other people that tag along with me but if I could persuade her, I'd bring my daughter. But this would be discussed and done with permission of course.

About: Enrichment. Walks. Adventure time. With me, you will always have an energetic individual who will go the distance! I go hiking 3+ days out of the week and am a natural pet-lover. This would showcase that I will always have the stamina to walk with your animals. I also keep a tight schedule and vow to always stick to the routines, recommended needs, and other care information that you provide. At the end of the day, a pet is truly a human’s best friend and deserves the best care. I hope you keep me in mind when you need an individual to look after your animal! Only the best care for them. I also have a reactive dog in-training, so I have tons of hands-on experience! Sincerely, Shileen Andico I’m currently working full-time as a teacher, with summer off as of June 10th! This leaves me available for all times available for walks, check-ins, etc! Working with a reactive dog, I understand that care and making a dog feel safe is always top priority! I will ensure that your dog will feel comfortable with me.

“Shawna was great and handled our exuberant giant dog like a pro. Would highly recommend her!”

Ehuniz D.

“Athena has been my service dog since 2012, but the move from Arizona to DC this year was hard on her. With long work days and crowds that can appear from nowhere, she began to be fearful and aggressive towards strangers. With Niecy's help Athena is becoming a happy and confident city dog. She addressed each of my concerns with good humor and patience; she was extremely communicative over phone and text, sending updates daily that made the separation from Athena much easier. She's creative with her training locations (Zoo Lights!) but doesn't forget to work on the basics that someone like me needs for everyday living (grocery stores). The skills Niecy is teaching Athena and me about living in the city are invaluable, and if I could give 10 stars, I would!”

“Jenny came highly recommended to us by a friend; she has by far exceeded our expectations. She is very reliable, trustworthy, nurturing and kind and takes excellent care of our Golden Retriever and our home while we're away. Our house always looks better when we return home than when we left and best of all our dog loves her so he is never stressed when we leave. We have been through a few pet/house sitters and Jenny gives us total peace of mind when we go away. She is a dream come true for us! We've used Jenny's services several times and will continue to do so. Anyone would be fortunate to have Jenny look after their pet and home and we would highly recommend her.”
