About: Hi! I’m Sarah! I’m a dog mom myself and genuinely love getting to spend time with other people’s pups. I started dog sitting for family and friends and loved it enough that I decided to branch out and meet some new furry friends! I work from home, so my schedule is pretty flexible and I’m able to spend lots of time with the dogs I’m caring for. I know every dog has their own personality, quirks, and routine, and I’m happy to follow whatever makes your pup happiest and most comfortable while you’re away. As a dog owner, I also know how hard it can be to leave your dog with someone else. I want you to be able to enjoy your time away without worrying about how your pup is doing. Expect lots of love, attention, playtime, and plenty of picture updates! Basically, I’m very happy being the person who talks to your dog like they’re a human and sends you way too many pictures of them. 🐾 I work from home, which gives me plenty of flexibility to care for your pup throughout the day! I’m available for regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, meals, and plenty of attention. I’m also happy to follow your dog’s normal feeding, walking, and bedtime routine so their stay feels as familiar and comfortable as possible. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. While I don’t have a fenced-in yard, dogs are always leashed and supervised outside, and I’m able to provide frequent potty breaks and multiple walks throughout the day. I have a dog of my own, so I understand how important it is to know your pup is in good hands. I’ll follow any instructions you provide and do my best to keep their routine consistent while you’re away.

About: I’ve had animals for as long as I can remember- From dogs, hamsters, and rabbits as a young child, to now a senior dog, a senior cat, and 2 younger cats. Although this is my start to professional pet sitting and walking, I have many years of non-professional experience with my own pets and pets of family and friends. I also have plenty of experience in canine body language from being a dog groomer. I am an active dog groomer with a somewhat busy life outside of grooming. My availability will look a bit different than others. Being a groomer my walking and sitting schedule will vary based off grooming clients for the day, here is a general idea: Single Drop-in visits and Walks: Available all day on Thursdays, Sundays, and alternating Mondays and Tuesdays. Available after 4 or 5pm every other week day and Saturdays. Long-term Drop-ins: Available Sunday-Saturday AM drop-in: between 7am and 8am depending on location PM drop-in: between 4pm and 7pm I do offer more in depth care for anxious, disabled, and senior dogs, as well as puppies upon request No matter which service I am providing I can promise your pup will not be left unsupervised at any point. For walks I will have my own leash on top of yours to ensure safety.

“Kyla was wonderful with our 2 cats. Her time was flexible and she was easy to book with over Christmas. During our initial meet and greet, the natural way she interacted with both Magik and Spooky, learning her history with animals, and her authenticity put my nerves at ease. During our time away, Kyla kept us up to date on her visits, how our cats were doing and included pictures. When we returned home, both cats were happy doing great. Kyla will be our go to anytime we are away.”

I offer loving, reliable care in your home, including drop-in visits, walks, feeding, playtime, and house checks. I understand that every pet has their own personality and needs, and I take the time to make them feel safe and comfortable. Your pet’s safety and happiness are my top priorities. I would love the opportunity to meet your pets and provide the dependable care they deserve! I offer flexible scheduling for pet care visits and can work with pet owners to find times that fit their pets’ routines. I am available for drop-in visits, feeding, litter box care, playtime, and companionship while owners are away. I understand how important consistency is for pets, so I make every effort to provide dependable care and keep owners updated with messages and photos during visits. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and specific needs so I can provide calm, dependable care. I care for pets by treating them with patience, kindness, and attention to their individual needs. I believe pets do best when they have a consistent routine, a safe environment, and plenty of love and companionship. I make sure pets are fed according to their owner’s instructions, have fresh water, a clean space, and time for play, attention, and comfort. I pay close attention to changes in behavior, appetite, bathroom habits, or energy levels so I can communicate any concerns quickly. With cats especially, I understand the importance of respecting their space, earning their trust, maintaining litter box routines, and providing gentle interaction based on their personality. As a registered nurse, I’m trained to pay close attention to details, follow instructions carefully, and recognize when something may not be right. I understand how important it is to communicate clearly and provide updates so you know your pets are safe and cared for. I treat every home with respect and every pet as if they were my own. I focus on creating a safe, comfortable environment where pets feel secure while their owners are away.

About: Hey friends! I graduated with an AAS in Veterinary Technology in 2019 from Muscatine, Iowa. I have been a Licensed Veterinary Technician since 2020 and I absolutely love it. I have a large passion for animal care and know that they deserve as much love as people do. My family and friends have always had animals as well, so I’ve helped with them here and there. I’ve done quite a few jobs on here and it’s always been a great experience! I am CPR trained for both cats and dogs and know how to give various medications in various ways. I worked at Northgate Small Animal Hospital in Collinsville, IL for over 2 years and recently quit this year due to my CF, but I still keep up to date with my licensure! I can work with dogs, cats, and small exotic animals including hamsters, Guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets, etc. Don’t worry, you can trust me with all of your fur babies!!! As previously mentioned, I quit working as a Vet Tech in 2023 do to hardships with my Cystic Fibrosis. I still do Rover jobs, so feel free to ask me if you need me! I had a baby earlier this year in April, so my schedule will depend on him and that of my hubbys! Other than that, just let me know and ask me! I don’t watch animals at my home due to our dog, Chief, being dog aggressive but I’m always happy to come to your home and visit your pets! I’m happy to follow a schedule or do whatever you need while at your home!

Joe has been boarding cats since around 2019 and has began boarding dogs since 2024. My partner and I work from home and provide full time care, meaning that, unless discussed beforehand explicitly, your pet will not be left alone and you can rest easy knowing they have our full attention. We only accept more than one pet at a time if they live in the same house and we are pet free right now, so you dont have to worry about how they might get along with any other animals. “This is my first time using Rover. Jennifer made it so easy and was amazing. She looked after my kitty and was super responsive. I really appreciate she helped us with our cat due to it being a small job which can be harder to find someone to accommodate. I will definitely be back when we need help for weekend getaways for our pup and cat. Thank you Jennifer!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
