About: Hello, my name is Eden. I grew up around both cats and dogs of different breeds and sizes, so I understand that every pet has its own personality and needs. As a full-time college student, I’m used to staying organized and following schedules, which helps me provide consistent and reliable care. From walks and playtime to simple companionship, I’ll make sure your pet is well looked after and comfortable. i am currently a full time college student but am available anytime Monday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday! i do not currently have a job so the only thing taking up my time would be school! i am more than able to walk dogs when needed. I understand feeding schedules when given. I am not able to watch any pets in my own home as i do live on campus, but I am more than willing to adapt to whatever instructions I am given in a clients home.

About: Hi there! My name is Sam. I’ve been caring for animals since I was about 10–12 years old, when I got my first dog, and I’ve had at least one dog in my life on and off ever since. Over the years, I’ve also cared for pets belonging to family and friends, including my grandfather’s diabetic cat, which involved administering insulin injections. Now at 32, I bring more than 20 years of hands-on experience caring for animals of all kinds. In addition to pet care, I have over four years of experience working with seniors, which has given me a strong sense of responsibility and comfort when entering someone’s home and providing attentive, respectful care. I’m often described as friendly, personable, and professional. I would truly be honored to care for your pets while you’re away, ensuring they’re in safe, experienced hands and giving you peace of mind wherever you go. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I currently work part-time as an in-home caregiver on Tuesday evenings, Wednesday afternoons, Thursday during the day and evening, and Sunday evenings. Outside of those hours, my schedule is flexible, allowing me to provide reliable drop-in visits and attentive house sitting. Whether your pet needs a quick potty break, a meal and some playtime, or overnight companionship, I'm committed to making sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for while you're away. I've spent over 20 years caring for animals and more than 4 years working as an in-home caregiver, so I understand that inviting someone into your home requires trust. My goal is to provide peace of mind by caring for both your pets and your home with the same respect and attention I'd want for my own. Every pet has their own personality and routine, and I believe the best care comes from following the owner's preferences. Whether that's sticking to a feeding schedule, administering medication, going for walks, engaging in playtime, reinforcing training, or simply providing quiet companionship, I'll do my best to keep your pet's routine consistent and stress-free. I pride myself on being dependable, detail-oriented, and an excellent follower of instructions. I leave your home as I found it, clean up after myself and your pets, and treat your space with care and respect throughout my stay. While you're away, you can expect regular updates and photos so you always know how your furry family members are doing. My goal is for you to return home to happy, relaxed pets and a home that's exactly as you left it.
“My babies were very well taken care of and really didn’t even care that we were home. Laura G gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Thanks again.”

About: I’ve had pets my whole life, I currently I have two dogs, and three cats that I take care of along side my family. I grew up rescuing strays with my grandpa and finding them forever homes I currently work full time in fast food. My hours are randomized from 11am until possibly 2am. I would be able to take care of the pet before my shift would begin, as well as be granted a break to see the pet during the day/night. I treat my pets like family. I personally let my two dogs and my cat sleep with me every night. They eat breakfest, lunch, and dinner with before I get to eat.

About: My name is Laura. I have been a dog owner my whole life. I have been a Rover sitter on and off for about 5 years and would love to take care of your fur babies while you are out of town. I have owned several special needs animals and am good at working with animals of all temperments. I have experience dealing with dogs of all ages and sizes. I especially love caring for older dogs who may need a little extra care and attention. I have worked with large groups of dogs and am willing to take care of several at a time if you have a large pet family. I have open availability and would love to play with your dog and make sure they are well taken care of. I have a full time job with flexibility. As long as I have about a weeks notice it should not be a problem to accommodate weekday visits to pets. Weekends are no problem. I like to do an initial house visit with the owner to get an idea of what the house looks like and where the pet is comfortable. If we cannot get a face to face meeting first please message me with detailed care instructions to ensure proper care for your pet.
“Amanda is wonderful. The love for our pet Doris was obvious & vice versa. She's kind, gentle & left us without any worries while we were away. Amanda stayed in touch with us, which is a nice perk! She's topnotch & we'll be having her come back as often as we can. We highly recommend Amanda for any of your home/pet needs!!!”

About: I have experience fostering dogs with the animal shelter APL and have a small toy poodle of my own. He is very friendly with other dogs and loves to play. I love dogs and would love to have the opportunity to watch dogs and take care of others! I am open to watching dogs for a couple hours, a day, or even a couple of days if that is what is needed. My house has a small backyard and I am also available to do drop ins at the dogs own home. The area is very quiet and would be comfortable for another dog to be in. If I am caring for someone else's dog I plan on being home for the time I'm watching the dog so that it will be well taken care of. I’m currently only working part time so I have plenty of time to spend with your animals. I am available early mornings or early afternoons to give your animal a break during the workday! I am also available any time on the weekends. I have a fenced in yard and 2 friendly dogs to keep your dog company. I have a toy poodle and a golden retriever. I can also do drops in to walk or play with your dog as well!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Jacksonville on Rover is $46.06 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

As of July 2026, there are 75 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Jacksonville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Jacksonville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Jacksonville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Jacksonville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
