“Kat is amazing! Our great dane loves her and she is so sweet with him. She is flexible extremely responsible, responsive and just a great human! We will be using her in the future for drop in and dog sitting for sure!!!”

About: I have taken care of animals my entire life, from dogs, cats and horses to turtles, hedgehogs and even chinchillas and am very comfortable and capable of providing the top level of care to your pets I work professionally as a barber on a flexible appointment based schedule that allows for me to be home most of the time with my children and pets. I have a fenced yard with two friendly dogs who are crate trained. My six-year-old daughter is very compassionate and hands-on with caring for the animals in our home. I have several years of housesitting and pet setting for others and have been told I leave homes better than I found them and come highly recommended.
“Julie was fantastic! I have three big dogs and she took excellent care of them and the house! She came a couple times before our trip to better understand our needs and get to know the dogs. She communicated well while we were gone. She even cleaned the house! I will definitely be looking to work with her again!”

“Isabella was absolutely terrific with my Ziggy. She definitely understood the assignment, which was a bit challenging, and I was gone with peace of mind, came home res assured. I highly recommend her be it 1 or more pets.”

“Sara is awesome! Our dogs are so excited to see her when she arrives. She has house sat for our 2 beagles a couple of times and we would love for her to sit for us in the future. We feel so comfortable knowing she is home taking care of our babies. She sends great updates and takes care of anything needed/asked, including our multitude of supplements we give our dogs.”

“Here’s a polished review you can post: This was our second time using Amber, and I felt just as comfortable as the first time having her not only in our home but also caring for our little spoiled herd. She is trustworthy, reliable, and genuinely cares about our dogs. She always keeps us updated with photos, which gives us so much peace of mind while we’re away. It’s clear our pups are happy and well cared for, and knowing they’re in such good hands makes traveling so much easier. We wouldn’t hesitate to book Amber again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and dependable pet sitter!”

About: Hello! My name is Hannah, I, have worked with dogs and cats for 5 years now, 3 years as a manager at a doggy daycare and boarding facility, the only reason i left was to pursue my career (a hairstylist ) but now on my off days i miss taking care of dogs and cats 😁. I love animals so much, I have owned animals as well. I enjoy playing and cuddling with them and I keep an eye on them to make sure they are okay. I have taken care of many dogs in all different stages of life. I have a soft heart for furry friends and want my clients to feel comfortable and relaxed knowing that I am there to watch their dogs. I am a great communicator as well. I have also rescued a puppy when i was in a foreign country and took him to a humane society. My boyfriend has a German Shepard andI work with a lot of German Shepard’s, huskies as well as tiny dogs like chihuahuas, spaniel mixes etc If you are also in need of a stylist 👀 (HannahAbbyHair) I’m a hairstylist, some weeks are busy some aren’t. My schedule currently that works is Monday-Thursday available. But you can always message me and work something out I’m very flexible!! I enjoy being goofy and having fun while also making sure they know the limits and guidelines! I worked at a daycare and would manage 15-30 dogs at a time so you learn the ropes pretty quick! I love cats as well but i don’t pressure them for attention. If they want to they will is my logic (:
About: Hi there! My name is Lauren. Some helpful things to know about me is that I have 5+ years experience in animal care. I've worked at animal shelters and as a manager at a pet daycare/boarding facility, I also have done pet sitting and dog walking on my own in the past. I've recently moved to the area and want to continue working with animals. I am responsible, reliable and will treat your pets as if they were my own. I love to send lots of updates and pictures so you know your pets are well taken care of. I have just recently moved to Alvarado and left my job at Operation Kindness Humane Society because the commute would of been too long. So my schedule is very open as of right now while I look for another job. I have a large yard, however it is not fully fenced. If you'd like for your pup to come to my house I would walk them to go potty. I also have 2 dogs that are dog friendly so if your pup likes to play they will get along great. My dogs are fully vaccinated and up to date all all shots and preventions. For your baby to stay with me I would need to see vaccination records, just to make sure everyone is safe and healthy. If you'd prefer me to pet sit at your home I am more than happy to do that as well and stay consistent with the daily routine you have with your animals. This is usually my preferred way, as it is less stressful for your animals to be in a familiar environment.
“I've used a number of sitters and Senaura was probably the best I've had. She was in constant communication with details, pictures and video. Two of my dogs got into a fight and she handled it perfectly. She will definitely be my first contact when I need someone from now on.”

“Kaitlyn. From Max,Angel, and Lil Man we loved having you while mom was gone!! Please come see anytime ❤️ Kaitlyn you were so good with the pups I was grateful to have you in my home! Thank you so much for the great care of my babies. Racina”

About: I have hands-on experience caring for multiple dogs of different breeds and personalities, including my four dogs at home — two dachshunds, a yorkie, and a schnauzer. Over the years, I’ve been responsible for many aspects of their daily care, from feeding and walking to bathing, grooming, and administering medication when needed. Caring for several dogs at once has taught me patience, responsibility, and how to recognize each dog’s unique needs and behavior. I genuinely love animals and enjoy making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I also have experience helping family and friends with pet sitting, which has helped me become confident handling dogs in different environments and routines. My schedule is very flexible right now since I am home from college for the summer, so my availability is pretty wide open. I am available most days and can easily adjust to different pet care schedules, whether that’s daily visits, walks, feeding times, or overnight stays. The only times I am unavailable are Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30–9:00 due to soccer practice. Outside of that, I have plenty of time and energy to dedicate to caring for pets and making sure they get the attention and care they need. Caring for animals has always been a big part of my everyday life. At home, I help take care of my four dogs and my cat by feeding them, walking them, bathing them, cleaning up after them, administering medication when needed, and making sure they always feel loved and comfortable. Having multiple pets has taught me how to manage different personalities, energy levels, and routines while still giving each pet the individual attention they deserve. I also have experience caring for other people’s pets in their homes through pet sitting for family and friends. I understand how important it is to keep pets comfortable in their own environment and to follow their normal routines as closely as possible. Whether it’s feeding schedules, playtime, walks, medication, or simply giving them company and affection, I make sure every pet feels safe, cared for, and happy while their owners are away

“Tracy was such a great sitter for our multiple pets while we were away. We have a senior dog that was having some issues while we were away and Tracy took incredible care of her and kept us updated with all information without having to ask. She was very patient and kind with our pets and definitely recommend her to others!”

“Destini was so great! She took good care of our pups while we were out and stayed in touch with us. No doubt they were a bit trying at times but she handled it like a pro! Definitely recommend!”

About: I've always had dogs as part of my life. I love and identify with animals. I was a dog groomer for several years at a local pet salon. Total care and understanding of the needs of a dog is second nature to me. Providing a safe and fulfilling environment for a dog is my number one goal and focus. We're not just simply boarding we're 24/7 care and companionship for our guests we provide constant attention and affection as well we don't just house/shelter animals we provide for them a loving and caring environment I'm available full time to care for and interact with your pets. I'm not going to put them out of sight and out of mind, I'll be with them and attentive to their needs the entire time they are with me. My goal is for your pets to be safe and happy. I have a safe and secure yard, with security cameras installed, no neighboring animals to distract them or disturb them. If weather is not favorable they are more than welcome to be inside my safe secure house.
About: Working from home allows me to give every animal in my care the attention and love they need as well as the flexibility to work with parents schedules. 10 years of experience working with dogs and cats both high energy, shy/nervous, needing extra attention, dogs who need separation from other dogs, both small and large! I have plenty of space in the back yard as well as toys both inside and out to make sure every fur baby is able to get their zoomies out, plenty of play time and comfort inside my home as well! I do not kennel any dogs unless the parents state that they need to be at any specific time for any reason. I want to provide a stress free experience where both fur babies and parents are taken care of. I want parents to feel confident in knowing their babies are safe and I will treat them as if they were my own babies, I taught my dog, to be able to go to the dog parks and be social nonaggressive. I specifically taught him to be gentle with cats and dogs growing up so he loves everyone. I do have extra space in my home so if someone needs to be separated or have a little bit of some space way while receiving the same quality care, they are able to have that! If I go into your home it is specifically to give the babies play times with any toys you allow me to use and just show them the same loving and petting I would for my babies. 🐾 If you have a questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to ask I am here to help you have a peace of mind! ☺️ I work from home so I am actively able to provide daily outside playtime and potty time during the day and some much needed sun bathes for the sun bathers. I am able to provide a good feed schedule as well treat times! It is a pleasure to be able to work from home and effectively care to the needs of each furbaby! Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. With my experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages and personalities, I understand how important it is to have someone you can truly trust with your furry family members!❤️ I provide a calm, safe, and loving environment where pets can feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away. I pay close attention to routines, behavior, and individual needs to ensure every pet receives personalized care, patience, and plenty of affection. I believe communication is extremely important, so I’m happy to provide regular updates, photos, and check ins for peace of mind. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, anxious, young, or senior, I strive to make them feel secure, loved, and at home in my care. 🐾
“Candace stayed at my house while I was gone for 4-5 days and took excellent care of my dog and my cat! Both of them are on meds and she was very willing & able to give them. My dog has anxiety, and she was so patient and good with him. He loved her! I highly recommend Candace and will definitely be booking her again in the future!”

“Dakota was great with our animals. They are a handful of a group, so it was awesome that Dakota was able to handle them. He was also very good about keeping in contact and keeping me in the loop!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Itasca walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Itasca maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Itasca choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Itasca. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
