Top-rated Waterford dog sitters

“Count have asked for a nicer person to look after my dog, I was a hit nervous especially since I have an XL bulldog and not a lot of people like them with everything going on but if she would take rocky again she would be my first choice for a dog minder you can tell straight away she genuinely cares for dogs and you just know your dog is going to be looked after.”

“I left my two dogs with Bridget for 2 nights and came back to two incredibly happy and well looked after dogs. They were treated like family with a place on the couch and a pup cup reward after their walks. Service like that is invaluable and hard to find. Would 100% recommend Bridget and will be booking my 2 in again for their next holiday. Thanks so much Bridget.”

About: What sets me apart is how personal I make the care. I don’t just look after pets — I take the time to really understand them and treat them like family. I’ve fostered and raised three puppies at the same time from a young age, so I know how to handle different personalities, keep them happy and safe, and help them learn the basics with patience (and plenty of treats!). I’ve also cared for senior dogs and even a blind dog, where it’s all about being gentle, calm, and consistent so they feel safe and secure. On the other end, I’ve worked with cats rescued from hoarding situations — some were extremely nervous and shut down at first. It took time, trust-building, and lots of patience to help them feel safe enough to come out of their shells. It’s one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. Every animal is different, so I always tailor my care to suit their needs — whether that’s sticking to routines, reinforcing training, giving space and reassurance, or just spending time with them in a way they enjoy. I genuinely love what I do, and I think pets can feel that. Pet care fits into my daily and weekly routine really naturally — it’s something I love and build my days around. As a student, I have a flexible schedule, especially during the summer when I’m fully available. Even during the academic year, I have three full days off and my classes usually run between 9am and 2pm, so I still have plenty of time to give pets the attention they deserve. I structure my days to include at least three meaningful sessions with the animals I’m caring for. For dogs, that usually means three solid walks — often around an hour each — spaced throughout the day to give them exercise, stimulation, and structure. With cats, I’ll spend time on interactive play like hunting-style games for 20 minutes or so, spread across the day, plus plenty of cuddles and enrichment. I also love working on training and usually fit in short sessions before feeding times, which helps with focus and reinforces positive behaviour. Caring for animals isn’t something I squeeze into my schedule — it is the schedule. I’m committed to giving every pet in my care the time, energy, and attention they need to feel happy, safe, and loved. Whether I’m looking after your pet in your home or mine, I do everything I can to make them feel safe, comfortable, and truly cared for. When pets stay **in my home**, I give them their own space — usually a crate or cosy corner with their blankets and toys — that they can treat as their personal room. It’s a quiet, comfy area they can retreat to anytime they want to rest or take a break, but it’s never forced. I make sure their day is full of enrichment, play, affection, and rest, all balanced to suit their personality and energy level. When we head out for **walks**, safety comes first. I avoid unnecessary contact with other dogs and always bring plenty of fresh water to keep them hydrated, especially in warmer weather. I tailor the length and pace of the walk to your dog’s age, breed, and needs. In **your home**, I aim to keep their routine as consistent as possible — from feeding schedules and walking times to their favourite toys and nap spots. I leave everything just as I found it, and most importantly, your pet feels secure in their own environment. To give you peace of mind, I send regular daily updates with pictures, little notes about our day or concerns to keep you in the loop and give you a piece of mind

“Can’t recommend Alison enough! We left our two dogs with her. What a fantastic time our dogs had with her. We felt they were in such great care and peace of mind for us. The dogs came back extremely happy, received regular updates and videos on what they got up too. Highly recommended for anyone that wants to leave their dog with Alison. ”

About: My main experience comes from my own beloved dogs. My family dog Mia (miniature jack russell) who I grew up with (and who lives with my parents at present) has just turned 12 this year. Unfortunately, due to her initial surroundings in the world, she is a nervous little thing but I have gained her trust over the years and she has been well looked after with the usual walks, toys & cuddles! In the last year I have adopted my own dog Daisy (a total pet!). She is one of the best things in my life and while she’s had a few health knock backs she is doing great and is a complete joy to care for. Given my time spent around my own dogs I am well familiar with the responsibilities and requirements dogs need & so I hope you’ll consider me when looking for a new sitter😊 I’m currently working from home and have plenty of time to walk, play and love any dogs coming for a temporary visit! Dogs would typically be fed morning and evening. They would get a short walk late afternoon and play time as needed. All dogs are welcome inside and outside my home. The house is one story and dogs would have access to most rooms (with others being closed off via baby gates). I have a long garden approximately 165m2 which is secured by high walls and fencing. Gates to access the backyard are tall and hung low to the ground so no fear of dogs escaping underneath! My own dog is generally excellent around others but can be weary of hyper dogs, if there is any signs of arguing the dogs can be separated easily within the house and let outside at different times. There are no kids or other animals. There is also a vet clinic ~7min drive in the case of any emergencies.

About: I have been an avid animal lover my entire life. I have experience working in rescue centres and have fostered many dogs in the past. I have my own adopted dog called Lola who is my pride and joy. I live right next to peoples park and love going for long walks and hikes with her. I have my roster in advance I am a social worker. I have a lot of flexibility on weeks I work short shifts but will schedule pet care around my work schedule! I have a top floor flat that is safe for pets. I am happy to have pets on my furniture etc. I don’t have a garden but I live right next to a huge park which is great to bring dogs and also drive.

About: Hi, I’m Rachel, 25 years young and live in the beautiful countryside in Kilkenny. My home is a home away from home for your fur baby ❤️ They will be guaranteed the best time with us with loads of walks, running in fields and of course cuddles involved 🥰🥰 I have lots of experience in dog minding in all shapes and sizes, hopefully chat soon.. any questions don’t hesitate to ask 💛 I set out to make my home, a home away from home for your fur baby.. a typical day in the life with us is cuddles in the morning followed by breakfast and a walk and run around the fields which are completely enclosed so no worries just a space for them to explore and be dogs!! We would then chill in the house, have fun play time and do whatever your dog wants to do and is comfortable doing if they just want to chill, we can chill, if they want to play we will play ❤️ I treat them like my own princess, Shelby 🐾 I have done dog minding for 4 years now out of my home.. this is a new account for me but I have outstanding reviews which you can find on my insta and Facebook under Stay ‘n’ Play 🐾 I currently walk dogs most days for people and have a busy schedule minding dogs. I’m comfortable with any size doggo. The dogs can sleep wherever they feel most comfortable in my house, I am not fussy as I want them to feel like they are at home and Shelby loves having company with her wherever they may want to sleep. I live in a little bungalow in a quiet area, all enclosed, I have no grass in my yard but not to worry I am surrounded in wonderful enclosed fields

“Melanie and Maxime were wonderful dogsitters for Huck! Their pup Mozart was a perfect best friend for him while we were away. Melanie was great; she let Huck meet Mozart beforehand to be sure they got along. She also let us stop by to make sure Huck was comfortable in their home. They sent photos and updates every day and took Huck for lots of long walks! While we wished we were with Huck over the holidays, we couldn’t think of a better place for him to stay while we were away. Can’t recommend a stay with Melanie, Maxime, and Mozart enough!”

“Daria is always punctual and polite to owner and pet alike. She provided quality walks with update pictures to show where my animals had been, she kept up training we were trying to implement and was quite flexible to both mine and my animal's routines. Overall a very good experience and well worthy of a recommendation.”
