About: I didn’t really get into pets through “pet sitting”, I got into them by living with two dogs for several years and gradually learning their whole little world. Their routines, habits, moods, boundaries, and all the little rules they never actually tell you but expect you to know :) I learned to pay attention rather than assume: how they react, what they’re comfortable with, when they want company and when they’d rather be left alone. I’m happy to let pets be themselves, but I also know they can be very quick to discover what a new person will let them get away with. So I’m comfortable following the owner’s usual boundaries as well as the pet’s routine. I genuinely enjoy being around animals, and usually the feeling seems to be mutual. I’m comfortable with both dogs and cats, and I’d much rather get to know an individual pet and their normal routine than arrive with my own idea of how they “should” behave. I work remotely on a freelance basis, which gives me a lot of flexibility over when and how much I work. I don’t have fixed “office days” or a rigid weekly schedule, so I can usually adjust my day around a pet rather than trying to squeeze them into it. That can mean walks during the day, company at home, feeding at their usual times or simply being around when they’re used to having someone there. My availability can change from week to week, but I’m generally flexible across weekdays and weekends. If a pet stays with me, they’ll be in a quiet home with two adults, no children and no other pets. We have a small fully enclosed backyard, so there’s secure outdoor access when needed, although it’s definitely a backyard rather than a glamorous garden :) I’m quite flexible about how a pet is cared for because I know every household has its own system. Sleeping arrangements, feeding, walks, crates, house rules, favourite places, things they’re allowed to do and things they absolutely know they’re not allowed to do. I’m happy to follow what they’re already used to. The main thing for me is knowing those details in advance. If there’s something specific a pet needs, I’d rather discuss it beforehand and make sure I can accommodate it properly than assume.

About: Experienced pet minder and carer. I had a very nervous and anxious bichon frise for most of my life who I loved so so much. I recently fostered and cared for a kitten from 3 weeks old, I bottle fed her milk and assisted her in potty breaks. I have looked after many of my friends and family's dogs and cats, of all breeds, ages and personalities. This is how I found a love for caring for animals. I can't wait to look after your furry friends, and fully cater to all of their needs - exercise, dietary needs, medications, 24 hour attention, play and cuddles. I will be available full time from Monday 28th of September to care for your furry friends, 7 days a week, day and/or night care. I have a fully secure garden with plenty of space to play and run. I am flexible to any preferred sleeping arrangement, whether it be with my company, or in their own comfortable and private space. Our cosy furniture is as much for pets as it is for us! They will feel at home in our quiet and safe surroundings, with a big open pitch only 5 minutes walk away.

“Geni did a fantastic job at minding our dog. I’d say Lilly had more fun in her house than she would ever have had at home. Lilly got brought to the park both days and had lots of activity. Would be delayed to recommend Geni to anybody who needs their dog looked after by a nice family.”

About: Hi, I’m Ashley, a dedicated pet sitter who absolutely adores all animals, who lives 10 minutes outside of callan. If you're looking for a caring a reliable pet sitter then you should come to me. My whole life I've grown up around animals , I spend most days outside in nature with my dog where we do an hour plus walk everyday.
I live on a farm so as you can imagine I have plenty outdoor space for your pets to explore. In my home we have the doors open all the time allowing our animals to run in and out as they please. I have many walking areas around my home such as a forest where I walk my own dog.
A daily routine for me and my dog would be getting up bright and early to have our morning walk together then we would spend the rest of the day outside together throwing the ball in the fields.
I give regular video and photo updates of your pets to ensure that you're able to see that they're safe and happy.
I provide a secure , comfortable environment with regular feeding , playtime , walks and plenty of attention so your pet feels settled and cared for as part of the family. I have been minding animals for the past year and have been given 5 star reviews. I get up early in the mornings and walk my dog around the fields in my house. We then spend most of the day outside while she plays with her ball. I live on a farm with a fenced back yard so I have plenty space to accommodate them. The area I live in has plenty of walking areas such as forests.

“Absolutely wonderful experience, I couldn’t have asked for better care for Rex! Emma was absolutely amazing from the very first message. She was friendly, clear, responsive and incredibly flexible, which made everything so easy and stress-free for me. Rex had the most wonderful stay. He was taken out for walks four times a day, had a beautiful home and lovely surroundings to enjoy, and most importantly, he was treated with so much care, love and attention. It genuinely warmed my heart to know that he was so happy and comfortable there. Rex absolutely loved Emma from the start, and it was clear that he was not simply being looked after, he was truly welcomed as part of the family. The children loved him too, and seeing them say goodbye to him was honestly one of the sweetest parts of the whole experience. ❤️ Emma was also incredibly understanding when my journey back took longer than expected and was extremely kind and flexible about the pick-up time. I really appreciated this more than I can say. I booked Rex with Emma because I needed to know that he was safe and well cared for while I was away, but she honestly exceeded my highest expectations. I came back with complete peace of mind, knowing that Rex had had his own little holiday. I would wholeheartedly recommend Emma to anyone looking for someone who will treat their dog with genuine love, kindness and care. We would absolutely book with her again. Thank you so much, Emma, for giving Rex such a wonderful time. ❤️🐾”

About: I have a background as a yard manager working with horses and have owned dogs all my life. I have competed in dog agility and also foster regularly for a local dog rescue. All of our own dogs are rescues, some of which did not have an ideal start in life but they love nothing more now than sharing their couch with other 4 legged friends. We both work from home so there will always be one, if not both of us around to play and care for your dog. Daily exercise is a must and we have a fully fenced field to ensure have extra space for ball throwing. We have a fully fenced garden and any dog that comes into our home shares our couch with us and our 3 dogs. We also have a 1 acre field which is fully fenced and a popular space for any guests.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost of Dog Boarding in New Ross is €35 per night as of November 2026. Most bookings cost between €35 and €35 per night.

On Rover, sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets and your pet’s specific needs. As long as your booking dates and pet profiles are accurate, the pri ce s hown before you confirm is the total, including any booking fee.

As of November 2026, there are 34 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across the city of New Ross. About 100% typically respond to requests within 60 minutes.

Enter your address and booking dates to see which sitters are available near you. You can also message multiple sitters to improve your chances of finding the right care.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up to date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in Wexford ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis (Adenovirus), and Leptospirosis.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Some boarding sitters stay with the dogs in their care for most of the day, while others may step out for work, errands or other commitments. Each sitter’s schedule and the amount of time your dog may be left alone will vary, so it is important to agree expectations before the stay begins.

Before booking, tell the sitter how long your dog can comfortably be left alone and confirm their typical schedule during the stay. Adding the maximum number of hours your dog can be left alone to their profile can also help sitters decide whether they are the right match.

Boarding does not automatically include round-the-clock supervision. If your dog needs someone present at all times, ask whether the sitter offers constant care or 24/7 care. This may require a separate arrangement and may not be included in the sitter’s standard boarding rate.

Every sitter must complete an identity verification process before listing their services on Rover. This process checks that the sitter’s identity matches their provided documents.

Identity verification doesn't assess a sitter’s experience or suitability for your pet. To see if a sitter is the right fit, you can review each sitter's profile for ratings, verified reviews, repeat pet owner information and care style. We also recommend arranging a Meet & Greet to discuss your pet’s needs and make sure the sitter is the right fit before booking.

For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three- or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-in visits, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12.00 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our booking protection will kick in. This means you'll get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who've never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover, but you're welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you've previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you're booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you'll have a chance to go through your pet's routine, medical needs and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. A Meet & Greet is a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
