“Hi Aoibhinn, thank you for taking care of Jake for the past week. We have found him very relaxed since his return, so it is obvious he got on well with you and your Dogs. A couple of times today he wangled his way into my car for what I suspect was a potential return visit to see you and your 3 dogs. I definitely will be booking further stays for him with you. Regards Pat N.”

“Kimi spent 9 nights with Lilija and her family while we were on holiday, and we couldn’t have been happier. As Kimi is a rescue, we wanted her to stay somewhere safe and homely rather than in kennels. Lilija and her family gave her exactly that — a real home away from home. We loved getting regular photos and videos and could see how happy and well cared for she was. Kimi was treated like part of the family, and we wouldn’t hesitate to leave her with them again. She’ll definitely be back! 🐾❤️”

“Avril took such good care of our Oli. He can be a bit nervous when left in strange places, but he came back to us totally relaxed and happy. Avrils dog buddy was super friendly with Oli. April has a very good way with dogs and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone!”
“Columba has been a fantastic find for our reactive dog. She was extremely understanding of our (long) list of needs and cared for Faela as if she were her own dog. It gave us peace of mind knowing she was well looked after and settled in from the photos and updates we got from Columba throughout the stay. We would 100% recommend Columba!”

“I would highly recommend Anna. It's very clear that she adores dogs. She was brilliant with our dog from the very second they met! The reassurance she gave us by sending us photos and videos was amazing too. Thanks, Anna!”

About: I am qualified in Animal Care and Dog grooming QQI level 5. I have worked with dogs since 2018 across multiple dog grooming, veterinary and dog boarding/ doggy day care businesses. About: I’m currently working 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday. I do prefer pet sits on the weekend so I can attend to your pets needs on their time. Otherwise I usually do early morning visits (6-7am) or later evenings (7-10pm). I would definitely describe myself as an anxious person so ensuring that doors and windows are closed as needed, enduring nobody escapes during my visits / stays.
“I would highly recommend Viktoriia. She looked after my 9 year old pom who got diabetes and needs that extra attention and i couldnt have asked for better care. She got plently of experience with pets and diabetic dogs, she gave him injections, cooked his meals, spent time and attention with my dog. She also kept me updated with pictures and videos every single day .Very happy with everything , Chuck was also happy , thank you so much ☺️”

“My two maltipoos had a great weekend being looked after by Elena. She provided me with regular updates with photos and videos of what she was up to with my dogs, which really put my mind at ease. Her own dog, Penny, is a lovely playful girl who got on great with my two dogs. Before they stayed with Elena she kindly offered a quick meet and greet to allow me to see where they would be staying and for our dogs to meet and ensure they all got on ok. I would recommend Elena as a dog minder and will definitely be booking again 😊”

“Our 3 dogs had a great time with Paul and Michelle, one of ours was anxious and they went out of their way to ensure that he got extra special meals when he wouldn’t eat his kibble anymore. Every update they were happy and tails wagging. They bonded great with each other and I would definitely recommend booking with these guys. It is a home away from home atmosphere. Thanks again from Max, Tess and Fianna”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for Dog Boarding in Mullingar on Rover is {{median_grand_total_num.as_currency}} per night (as of {{date}}). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of Dog Boarding easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Dog Boarding.
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialise in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your Eircode to find a sitter within walking distance in your neighbourhood.
Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up to date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in Westmeath ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis (Adenovirus), and Leptospirosis.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Some boarding sitters stay with the dogs in their care for most of the day, while others may step out for work, errands or other commitments. Each sitter’s schedule and the amount of time your dog may be left alone will vary, so it is important to agree expectations before the stay begins.
Before booking, tell the sitter how long your dog can comfortably be left alone and confirm their typical schedule during the stay. Adding the maximum number of hours your dog can be left alone to their profile can also help sitters decide whether they are the right match.
Boarding does not automatically include round-the-clock supervision. If your dog needs someone present at all times, ask whether the sitter offers constant care or 24/7 care. This may require a separate arrangement and may not be included in the sitter’s standard boarding rate.
Every sitter must complete an identity verification process before listing their services on Rover. This process checks that the sitter’s identity matches their provided documents.
Identity verification doesn't assess a sitter’s experience or suitability for your pet. To see if a sitter is the right fit, you can review each sitter's profile for ratings, verified reviews, repeat pet owner information and care style. We also recommend arranging a Meet & Greet to discuss your pet’s needs and make sure the sitter is the right fit before booking.
For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three- or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-in visits, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12.00 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our booking protection will kick in. This means you'll get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who've never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover, but you're welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you've previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you're booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you'll have a chance to go through your pet's routine, medical needs and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. A Meet & Greet is a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
