About: I used to be a military police dog handler for a long time so I have great experience with dogs. I am a person who genuinely cares about animals. Ever since I was little I’ve had a dog there for me in my life. I treat every animal with care and respect! Your dog will be in great hands when booked with me! Right now I am on leave for quite a while so everyday any day will work for me. I will be around the dog 24/7 and make sure they are happy and taken great care of. I have a fenced back yard and a fenced play area in the basement where dogs can run around and play without getting too hot because outside in the hot sun all day.

About: I have loved animals since forever. I cannot recall a time in my adult life that I did not have a furry friend. I have a long history of animal rescue transportation and some fostering in-between transportation runs. I have been house sitting and dog watching for friends and family for several years and truly enjoy it! Unfortunately, I recently lost my sweet Lucy at the age of 14. (She is the first picture with her blue stuffie ☺️) She fought the good fight! However CHF, an enlarged heart and heavy seizure activity became too much for her aging body and the good lord came calling to help her cross on over the rainbow bridge where she can roam and run pain free again. So, I decided to offer my love of animals to others' companions instead of adopting again and went to work part time for the veterinarian that walked the walk with us. The love of an animal is unconditional and healing and within that, there is peace 💛 I currently work for a vet clinic and also as a massage therapist with full control of my schedule therefore have the ability to adjust my days as needed. I pride myself in working hard to keep your pets schedule as close to their normal routine as possible. I feel consistency is important for them when their humans are absent.

About: I always insure that pets are comfortable! I’ve taken care of old cats and dogs, and I when they are old like that it’s important to meet their needs first, as most of the time they need a lot of guidance and help. I am currently going into online college, so most of my day is free! I often sit down and watch TV or play video games, but I mostly enjoy writing and drawing in my free time I personally like to ask owners how there pets are in the company of others, as well as if any weather bugs them! The comfort of my pets, and owners is always my number 1 priority! I want to make sure that they are comfortable around me, and I never approach any animal until I’ve let them sniff me, it’s important that they trust me to be around them.

“If I could leave Marianna a 500 star review, that still wouldn’t be enough. I needed last minute care due to a medical emergency, and she not only accommodated my need with less than 18 hours notice, but she did so with a level of care for my kitties that I have never experienced before. Within 15 minutes of her arrival, I had photos and videos of all of my babies (which is no small feat in itself), and she continued to provide multiple updates, photos, and videos. She was so so so loving and gentle with my kitties, stayed with them all day and overnight, and gave me the comfort and reassurance I was desperately needing. I will absolutely be hiring her every time I need a sitter moving forward (hopefully sans the hospital stay and ideally for a fun getaway instead). Thank you so much, Marianna. There are not enough ways to express my gratitude!”

About: I understand that your pets are family. My goal is to provide dependable, compassionate care so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I offer pet sitting, house sitting, dog walking, drop-in visits, feeding, fresh water, litter box cleaning, waste cleanup, playtime, companionship, medication administration (if needed), and lots of love and attention tailored to your pet’s routine. Whether you have energetic dogs, independent cats, or multiple pets, I’m committed to making them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in their own home. I’m reliable, trustworthy, and treat every home with the same respect I would my own. I believe in clear communication and will gladly provide updates and photos so you can see how your pets are doing while you’re away. Because I am a full-time online student, my schedule is incredibly flexible, allowing me to make pet sitting my top priority. Unlike a traditional 9-to-5 job where I would be away from the house all day, my school structure allows me to work entirely from home on my own terms. This means I have ample open blocks of time throughout the day dedicated solely to pet care. I can easily accommodate structured feeding times, frequent potty breaks, and mid-day play sessions without interruption. Your pets will receive consistent companionship, and because I'm studying from my laptop, I am available to provide the constant supervision, love, and attention they deserve." When caring for pets in your home, my primary goal is to maintain their regular routine so they feel safe and secure while you are away. Seamless Routine Adherence: I strictly follow your established feeding schedules, medication timelines, and specific instructions to keep their environment predictable and stress-free. Meticulous Cat Care: As a multi-cat owner myself, I know the importance of a clean environment. I scoop litter boxes thoroughly during every visit and sweep up any tracked litter. Quality Companionship: Because my full-time student schedule is so flexible, I don't just rush in and out. I dedicate genuine time to interactive playtime with their favorite toys, gentle grooming, or just quiet companionship on the couch while I study. Home Respect & Communication: I respect your space, leave it exactly as I found it, and provide you with detailed daily updates and plenty of photos so you never have to wonder how they are doing.

About: I’m an active adventurous person ready to play with the dogs or take them on walks. I have helped family, friends and neighbors watch their dogs, whether it be just a check in or a week at a time! I work as a phlebotomist in my other times, help family and create crafts for my page! Seeing as I have a cat of my own, I make sure to put her into my daily schedule and make time for her to play with her and her as well as make sure her litter stays clean and her food and water bowl stay full! My cat is an indoor cat. Although she is aloof, she still loves to come cuddle and I always make sure that her food and water bowls are full, her litter is clean and her medicine is taken

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
