About: I grew up on a farm, so being around animals has always been a big part of my life. I’m a VetBloom Certified Veterinary Assistant, one of the few NAAVTA-approved programs, and I spent the summer working at a small animal hospital. I have experience with all kinds of animals and I’m comfortable handling everything from everyday care to the occasional high-maintenance personality. I’m reliable, experienced, and genuinely enjoy being around animals! 🐶 Schedule I currently work part time from home, which gives me plenty of flexibility throughout the day. I love taking breaks to give your pup attention, playtime, walks, and companionship! Oops 😂 then definitely don’t claim that. We can make it about your approach to safety and caring for pets in their home, which is probably even better for Rover. 🐾 Schedule I currently work part time from home, so I have plenty of flexibility throughout the day. I love taking breaks to give your pup attention, playtime, walks, and plenty of companionship! 🏡 Safety, trust & environment I want every pet to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while they’re with me. I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal routine, feeding schedule, house rules, and any special instructions you provide. Or, if you want it to sound more personal and less professional: Your pet’s comfort and safety are my top priorities! I’ll take the time to learn their routine, personality, and needs so they feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away.
About: Dogs and cats love me. And I love them. I recently relocated from the West coast to East. have volunteered at Laguna Beach Animal Shelter in California the past nine years. There are many pets in my household ( one dog, 4 cats)). I thoroughly enjoy pet/home sitting and am grateful for your trust. I am flexible and can easily adjust my schedule accordingly. Overnights are my specialty. I have no pets or children of my own thereby emplyment is my only commitment. My household has pets and roommates travel extensively so I feed, love and whatever other pet needs arise. I am and happy to accommodate as it takes a village with pets!
About: I have had dogs all my life and have always had the responsibilities to look after them. I have been around bigger dogs as well as smaller dogs and very familiar with senior care. I work full time but with a flexible schedule and a husband who works odd hours so I can be very flexible with times and dates! I am willing to travel within reasonable distance to look after your animals with reasonable notice. I do understand last minute things can happen as well.
“Pam was great. I appreciated the daily text and photo of my pup which eliminated any anxiety I had prior to and during our family vacation. Hope she will sit for us on our next trip away.”
About: I’ve taken care of my dads friends dogs aswell as my own cat. I’ve fed, walked, etc.. I’d love to work with your pet! I’ve had my cat for 12 years and she’s well taken care of. This is currently my main priority as I’m going to college soon! I can do pretty much any days and any times!! Monday-Friday. 7Am- 9PM (just an example) I currently do not offer this ! But if i ever did I’d make sure your fur baby is as comfortable as my own. Thank you for trusting me!
About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and have hands-on experience caring for my own dogs as well as dog sitting for family members. I’m comfortable with daily routines like feeding, walks, potty breaks, playtime, and giving lots of attention and affection. I’m available anytime on Fridays and weekends since I’m off work those days. Monday through Thursday, I’m available for evening visits and later times as needed. Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for pets, whether in my home or in a client’s home. I always follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, and any special instructions provided by the owner. In my home, dogs are always supervised. While my yard is not fenced, I take dogs out on a leash only to ensure their safety at all times. I never leave pets unattended outside. Inside, I provide a calm, clean environment with plenty of attention, playtime, and rest. I have a sweet, friendly golden retriever puppy who is well-socialized and gentle. All interactions are closely monitored to make sure every dog feels comfortable and safe. If a dog prefers space or separate time, I fully respect that. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I’m respectful of their space and follow all instructions carefully. I make sure pets are secure, doors and gates are checked, and I provide updates so owners feel confident their pets are in good hands.

“I wanted Day to spend some time with my dogs prior to an extended dog sit. My GSD likes to jump on people who enter the house and gets very excited. Day took charge and let Mira know to get off and waited for her to calm down before proceeding. Both dogs have specific needs ranging from sensitive stomach issues to elderly care issues. Day got to spend time with the dogs while I left them alone to get acquainted. The visit went well. Dogs were snuggled up on the couch with Day upon my return.”

“We went away for Spring break and Emelyn came 4 times per day to take care of our foster dogs. 5 puppies and one mom dog. She did great and I was glad to have her helping us!”
About: What sets me apart as a pet sitter is my genuine love for animals and over a decade of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats. You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
