About: I've been caring for pets since I was 14 years old. What started with helping neighbors and family friends quickly grew through word-of-mouth recommendations from people who trusted me with their beloved pets. In addition to caring for others' animals, I grew up with a dog, cat, and guinea pig, giving me firsthand experience with the daily responsibilities and joys of pet ownership. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and my love for them inspired me to pursue a degree in Wildlife Science. After recently graduating and moving back home, I'm excited to reconnect with my community and find opportunities to care for animals again. Whether it's walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, or providing companionship, I’m dedicated to making sure every pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for while their owners are away. I look forward to meeting you and your furry, scaled, feathered, etc. family members! Since moving back home, I have plenty of time throughout the week and on weekends, so collaborating our schedules will be simple and straightforward :) In your home, I will be sure to follow your specific care instructions very closely, as well as respect everything in the home as if it were my own. I love to send updates throughout my visits with pictures and videos so you don’t feel like you have to keep inquiring about how everything is going. Whether we're on a walk or spending time at home, I'll provide compassionate care and make sure your pet feels happy and comfortable.

About: Dog walking, your way! I pride myself on staying true to pet care plans and ensuring animals have the best experience possible. I have been pet sitting since my early high school days. Since then, I have become an asset to my community to make sure their dogs can be walked safely and cared for properly. I’m a proud mini schnauzer mom and have raised her from her puppy days. Working from home allows me the flexibility I need to make the most of my day. Between breaks and flexing hours, I will do my best to match your needs for pet care! I live in a quiet area with plenty of space to keep walks interesting! I have my own separate space in the house to ensure your pet is comfortable at all times.

About: I have a B.S. in animal science with the goal of going to veterinary school. I have experience as a vet assistant in a small animal hospital, as well as a variety of animal experiences. I was a part of a college club training future guiding eyes for the blind dogs, where I also became a certified sitter for Guiding Eyes for the blind. I owned and cared for a Shih Tzu for 15 years and have watched friends' and family's dogs. I'm currently working part-time, so I will have plenty of time to walk and play with your dogs! I'm available all day on weekends and on Wednesdays. I am currently available on Tuesdays and Thursdays after 11:30 am. Your pet will be well supervised with plenty of affection. I have a bachelor's degree in animal science and experience as a veterinary assistant, so I’m comfortable caring for pets with different needs, personalities, and medical routines.

I’ve worked with all kinds of dogs, from high-energy puppies to sweet senior dogs—so I’m comfortable adjusting to whatever your dog needs. What sets me apart is how much I genuinely care. I’m patient, attentive, and experienced with different personalities, and I always make sure your dog feels safe, happy, and loved. I am openly available to be of service to you and your pets any day of the week any time! Weekdays, weekends, holidays, overnights and more. About: Hi! I’m Aidan and I have had 3 dogs throughout my life. While taking care of your dog, I can provide whatever services needed to keep them happy and healthy. I have taken care of multiple dogs at a time, on my own, for extended periods, so I am fully capable and willing to making your dog as comfortable as possible! I am currently on summer break, going into my Junior year at Binghamton University. Aside from selective plans with friends, the only consistency in my schedule is going to the gym! All other time can be allocated to pets! I have an acer of green backyard here in Lloyd Harbor, along with one, 13 year old sheepadoodle named Maisy. She is very old and gentile, the only thing she'll want to do is lay with your pet!

About: Hi there! I’m a lifelong animal lover, doctoral candidate, and business owner who works from home—so your pup will have my full attention in a peaceful, fun, and love-filled environment. I’ve cared for dogs and cats for years and have been the trusted sitter for friends and family throughout my life. I enjoy puppy care, high energy dogs, and dogs who benefit from gentle patience and enrichment. Whether your pup needs an active playmate, a calm companion, or a structured routine while you’re away, I’m here to help. I currently share my home with Laney, my yellow lab and best friend. Together, we’ve completed multiple levels of canine education, from basic obedience to therapy and service animal training. I’ve spent years working with her through structured behavior work and commands, which makes me especially comfortable providing care for dogs needing a little extra attention. Laney is well socialized and she's a registered service animal. She has a lot of pup friends and we're actively involved in the neighborhood dog group - hosting playdates and visits and enjoying group walks and meet-ups at the nearby parks. Here’s what your dog will enjoy during their stay: A large fenced yard (~4,000 sq ft) with a well-kept lawn A deck for sunbathing and relaxing (cooling bed optional) A dog pool for supervised splash sessions and cooldowns Access to quiet walking trails in a friendly, pet-loving neighborhood Consistent care from a work-from-home pup-sitter (they won't be left alone for long) I believe every dog deserves loving care, mental stimulation, and lots of joy while their humans are away. If you’re looking for someone who truly understands dogs and offers safe, enriching, high-quality care, I’d love to meet you and your pup! I work from home, running a business and completing my dissertation research. My schedule is flexible, which allows me to accommodate different needs. Laney has never demanded a set routine, but I'm generally up early for workouts and coffee breaks on the back deck. However, if your pup likes to sleep in, that's not a problem (Laney has been known to stay in bed late from time to time). I'm happy to discuss options for you and your pet(s). Your dog’s safety and comfort come first. I work from home, so your pup will be supervised, loved, and never alone for long. My home offers a fully fenced ~4,000 sq ft yard, dog pool, and quiet walking paths and parks nearby. Indoors, it’s calm, clean, and cozy—perfect for both high-energy dogs and mellow cuddlers. I follow your routine exactly and I'm happy to provide photo/video updates, so you always know your pet is safe and happy. As a dog lover, I consider pets family members, and I know how important it is to be able to trust in the person caring for your loved one(s).

About: Hi! I’m a true animal lover with a special soft spot for dogs of all shapes and sizes. Spending time with animals brings me so much joy, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. I’m very active and love being outdoors, whether that’s long walks, playtime at the park, or simply enjoying fresh air together. Staying active is an important part of my lifestyle, and I’m always happy to match a dog’s energy level — from energetic adventures to relaxed strolls. I’m a therapist by profession, which means I’m patient, attentive, reliable, and very in tune with others’ needs — including your pup’s! I have an off-hour work schedule, giving me consistent free time in the mornings, making me a great fit for early walks, drop-ins, or daytime care. I genuinely enjoy building connections, both with pets and their owners. You can trust that your dog will be cared for with kindness, responsibility, and lots of love. I can’t wait to meet your furry family member! I’m a therapist by profession and am available Monday through Wednesday before 12 PM, as well as Thursdays and Fridays before 9:30 AM. I’m dependable, caring, and happy to spend that time giving your pup attentive, loving care. I grew up with dogs and have always had a deep love and respect for animals. Their safety and well-being are my top priorities, and I will always treat your pets as if they were my own — with patience, attention, and plenty of love. You can trust that they’ll be cared for in a safe, nurturing, and responsible environment.

About: I’ve had dogs all my life. Specifically Bernese Mountain dogs and a couple of mutts. Long walks are an everyday occurrence as I believe it’s essential to our health I am now semi-retired & only work Monday & Thursday. If you don’t mind your pet being in my home while I work those days I have a doggie cam and work 5 minutes away from home so could come home during lunch if they need walk. Also would be available on Federal holidays that I don’t have to work I have a fenced yard for animals to do their business but am an avid walker & believe that is necessary for dogs. And I love snuggling on couch or bed.

About: Hi, I’m Rachel, and I’ve been caring for animals for over two decades. For the past several years, I’ve traveled the country as a trusted pet sitter through reputable apps and personal referrals, providing high-quality care in homes across the U.S. What began as a lifelong love for animals has grown into a full-time calling rooted in reliability, intuition, and genuine respect for the pets and families I serve. Now that I’m back home, I’m excited to offer local pet care with the same level of professionalism and heart I’ve brought to every sit nationwide. Your pets’ comfort, safety, and happiness will always be my top priority :) I’m a homebody who works from home, so pet care fits perfectly into my day. I’m around to give them attention, keep them company, and make sure they feel safe and loved the whole time. I care for pets in other peoples homes currently, if it’s family, friends or clients I’ve met throughout the years, my main priority is to ensure a safe and healthy environment for every animal. This includes bathing, always making sure they have food and water/or following specific feeding times, play time, walks, pets, relaxation time.

  • 97% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
