About: I was raised in a farming community and have cared for all types of livestock and pets. Dogs and cats have always been a part of our family and home. I have an array of pet skills caring for the puppy/kitten stage to the senior stage of a pet’s life. I’m an empty nester and retired educator who misses the opportunity to nurture and provide care. My schedule is extremely flexible and I enjoy interacting with the great outdoors. I would love to incorporate pets into my daily routine of physical activities and exercise. I enjoy socializing with pets by providing care while their owners are away. I care for my pets as my children. Believe pets need to feel secure knowing their human provides affection, respect, nurturing, nutrition, engagement and physical activity.
“I hit a home run with Shima! I have an 8th month old German shorthair pointer with high exercise demands daily. Shima was looking to gain knowledge in this field and has been walking, running and training my pup for a month now 2-3 times a week. She does an exceptional job with him and is patient to his needs! Working with a GSP can be one of the toughest breeds to work with. I come home and my pup (Troy Aikman) is happy and relaxed! I work a lot during the week so it is relieving to know he is in such good hands. I would highly recommend Shima for your needs. Troy lights up with energy when she shows up! Thank you Shima!”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover based in Granite Shoals near Marble Falls, and I’m happy to travel within an hour of the Austin area to care for your pup. I’ve had dogs my entire life and truly believe they’re family—not just pets. I currently share my home with Josie, my sweet 10-year-old Pug, and Bella, my energetic 2-year-old rescue Pit mix. Having dogs at very different life stages has given me experience with everything from senior care and slower-paced walks to playful energy and enrichment. Over the years, I’ve regularly helped friends care for their dogs—whether that meant walks, feeding, playtime, or simply keeping them company while their humans were away. I pride myself on being reliable, attentive, and genuinely loving toward every dog I meet. I live a healthy, active lifestyle and enjoy trail walks and neighborhood strolls, always tailoring activity levels to each dog’s needs, age, and personality. Your pup’s safety, happiness, and comfort are always my top priorities, and I’ll care for them as if they were my own. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your dog—feel free to reach out with any questions! My full time job is mostly remotely, which gives me the flexibility to plan my day around a pet’s needs. This allows me to provide regular walks, meals, playtime, and attention throughout the day. I prioritize safety, trust, and consistency. I follow each pet’s routine closely, ensure secure environments and safe walks, and treat both pets and homes with care and respect.
“This was my first time using Rover. I can’t recommend Jessica enough! My situation was a little different; we are visiting family in Marble Falls but my husband and I spent a few days in Austin and needed someone to walk our dog. We didn’t have personal interaction with Jessica but my mother in law did and said she was very polite and professional. So much so they she shared her information with the neighbors. Thank you Jessica.”

“Thank you for working around the weather we had this week to ensure that Brice got her daily walks in. Her walk is an important part of her daily routine. We will reach out to schedule walks the next time we are in town !”

About: I have always had a conscientiousness and innate knowledge for dog care and connection. I treat and love every dog as if it were my own which means....they are family. Because of my lifelong love for pets, I worked for a pet nutrition company for years where I focused on pet care and well-being. I interacted and learned from trainers, groomers and pet professionals. I am comfortable with dogs that are big and small, young and old, and any breed. And...while I don't "own" a cat, I am happy to care for them too! I will care for your pets as if they were my own and I will do everything it takes to make sure every furry face has an ear-to-ear smile and everything they need to be healthy, safe and content. My doggo and I recently moved back to Texas from Colorado and are enjoying being back with family here. As we continue to settle in, I would love to help you and your family in your pet sitting and/or feeding and walking needs. My availability is flexible and wide and I'm here to help take care of your pups and kitties! I am extremely conscientious about pet safety and welfare so you can rest assured that your fur kids are in competent and capable hands. If there are emergencies or urgent situations, I have the maturity and confidence to remain calm and address the need quickly. Additionally, if you would like your dog to have a playmate during my visit, I have a very "dog-friendly" dog who loves to play and would be more than happy to offer her services. (This would only be per your request)
About: I started as a little kid taking care of my family dogs.As I got older I watched my grandparents dogs over night. Now I have dog name Daisy "Animals aren't just a job for me – they're my entire world! Every day is an adventure filled with wagging tails, purring companions, and the joy of understanding what makes our furry friends tick. My home is often buzzing with happy pets, and I truly believe that living alongside them teaches us so much. This daily immersion in the world of pets means I bring not just experience, but a deep, personal understanding and endless patience to every animal I care for." "When I'm caring for your pets in your home, their safety and well-being are my absolute top priorities. I'm meticulous about following your specific instructions, maintaining routines, and ensuring a secure and comfortable environment for your furry family members. You can trust me to treat your home with the utmost respect and to provide vigilant, loving care so you can have complete peace of mind while you're away."
About: I’ve owned dogs for the past 20 years. I’ve watched multiple friends and family dogs for them. I’m an animal lover. I just prefer dogs because I’m allergic to cats, even though I own two outside. I’ve worked with rescuers and fosters to help out in the community. This side job would fill my heart just loving your fur baby. I have 5 animals, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a chameleon. They are spoiled babies. I have to make sure they are taken care of on a daily basis. I would love them! I would play with them, walk them, feed them, whatever needed. In my home my animals are spoiled on a daily basis.
About: I have extensive experience caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and breeds. I can provide basic daily needs and administer special medications if necessary. I’m also open to learning about any specific care requirements you may have. In addition to dogs, I have experience caring for other animals, including chickens, horses, and even some birds and exotic pets. Unfortunately, I don’t have the capacity to provide overnight visits, but I can bring your pets along for play days if you’d like. Let’s discuss how I can be of service to your family! I am currently doing contract work so can be flexible. I have sat for friends before and would love to use my skills to help others and meet new furry friends. I am experienced in traveling in an RV with 3 dogs and a cat so I have lots of practice getting everyone leashed up and out for walks with minimal hassle no matter the set up. Happy to work with whatever routine or equipment you have in place.
About: I grew up in a household with my two chihuahuas, Gizmo and Angel, and had a revolving door of stray cats that eventually joined the family. I raised a baby kitten after she had been abandoned on the highway. I had to bottle feed her, help her use the restroom, and keep her warm. Eventually, she survived the endeavor, and became my constant companion. I named her Karma! Friends have trusted me with their pets more times than I can count. I've cared for my family's dog, Charlie, who needs special care for his degenerative joint condition. I raised a family of kittens after my Karma gave birth and fled the coop. I've dealt with stray cats that have had prior histories and needed patience and a calm approach. I’m currently working part-time on my own business, but would love the chance to get to meet more wonderful animals. I’m usually pretty flexible, and can be counted on to be reliable. I love animals! I’ll always make sure they feel safe and secure, while giving them as much pets and playtime as needed. I’m also generally capable around a house. I'm mechanically inclined, good with plants, and I'm a neat freak. I also managed employee housing for several years, so I can be counted on to be responsible and reliable. I’ll make sure your best pal will maintain a similar schedule as your own.
“Lela is absolutely fantastic! We use her ever week for our dog walking needs and she is always timely, communicative and leaves us a detailed report card for the walks. Our pups absolutely love Lela and we would recommend her for any needs for your dog! Additionally she goes above and beyond to ensure we’re up-to-date on anything we need to know and is flexible when scheduling conflicts arise. You won’t be disappointed when connecting with Lela!”

About: New to Rover but caring for pets and homes locally as if they were my own has been part of my life for years. I know how important it is to trust the person you’re leaving your pets with and I take that to heart. I’m patient, reliable, and pay close attention to the little things that keep pets happy and homes feeling cared for. I have experience with dogs and cats of all ages, including playful puppies and gentle senior pets who may need extra time, medications, or a softer touch. I’m comfortable handling different routines, personalities, and special needs. Beyond pet care, I’m respectful of your home and keep everything tidy so you return to a space that feels just the way you left it—or a little better! Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily life because I work remotely from home. That means I’m around throughout the day for walks, potty breaks, meals, playtime, and plenty of companionship. My flexible schedule allows me to stick closely to each pet’s normal routine, whether they need extra attention, medication, or just a reassuring presence. Having animals around just makes my days better, so it never feels like a job to me. When I’m staying in a client’s home, I keep pets on their normal routine so they feel safe and comfortable. That means regular meals, walks, playtime, and as many snuggles as they can stand:)

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
