“We have used Jaclyn’s services twice now and would not hesitate to again. We love getting photos of Dani’s visit, which we call her “field trip” or “sleep over”. Jaclyn is very responsive and quick to answer any questions. She was also very understanding and easy to work with when our travel plans had to be postponed for a short time.”

“I was super nervous but our experience with Dawn could not have been better. She is a quick communicator, she sent pictures and Jayla seemed super happy when we picked her up. This visit was short, just so they could get to know each other but we have a longer vacation coming up and I feel much better about being away from her. Thank you again for taking care of her!”

“Daniel was awesome!! My dog, Benny, couldn’t have had a better experience. I was updated constantly throughout his stay, with pictures included. It put my mind at ease knowing my dog was so well cared for. Daniel went above and beyond my expectations and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone!! I definitely plan on using him again in the future!”

“Hanna was great to work with and kept us updated with pics while we were gone....Would recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable sitter...Hope to have Hanna watch our dog again in the future....”

“So grateful that he was not only able to take care of my dog Ruby but also my bunny baskoota and the way she was hopping around her cage and eating her hay when I saw her showed that she was living her life. Ruby was so happy being with them and enjoyed her time there. Definitely going to rebook if we go back again to ocean city. Thank you so much!”

“Zeke is nervous in the car when traveling. The minute we got to Beth and Ron's home, he saw Beth, jumped around a bit and headed to the door to be let in while Beth and I were talking. He loves it there and comes home happy and tired ( from playing with Riley) :) It's so clear that they like him as well. I am so happy we found a good place for Zeke to stay when I can't take him with me.”

“Our 1 year old pitbull mix with a strong dose of anxiety had an amazing time with Denise, her wonderful family and Rocket, their dog. We received videos and pictures throughout the stay. They were so patient with our pup that she didn't want to leave when we came to pick her up!! Glad to find such a wonderful sitter so close!”

“Brenda did a terrific job watching over and caring for our dogs. She asked good questions, showed genuine concern for their care and kept us in the loop. She has a great place for them to run around in a secured fenced-in yard and a spacious home for them to play. I really think you can’t go wrong with her.”

“Amanda is absolutely amazing! Upon meeting her I could tell she really cares for animals. Our dog Ember was very comfortable and happy during her stay and will be back when we visit again!”

“McCray was great, will definitely use him in the future to care for my girl. She’s very sensitive, she does not like being away from her home. Well, we arrive at McCrays home for the 1st time ever, Rita jumps out the car and runs to the door, like she knows where she’s going! And when we returned after our trip to collect her, so excited to see our girl, she stared out the back window of the car as we drove away and she’s been moping around the house ever since we got home! Thanks McCray!”

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Horntown home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
