“We would be lost with your Jocelyn! Such loving care of our two small dogs! We eave without any concerns for the safety and care of the “girls” or our home:). Jocelyn is a dream to work with and her upmost concern for the pets is so obvious:). Thank you can’t be said enough the quality of her services she provides:)”

About: I've been a pet owner since 1990. Would love to help out fun dogs in need of attention. Recently relocated back to my hometown and can't have a pet of my own currently. Someday, again... I've just relocated back to Ellwood City and look forward to opportunities to network with new clients and their pets. I've been inactive for the last few years because of work responsibilities, but I'm really flexible right now until I find permanent work again in the area. I cannot bring pets to my home though. I will follow your instructions to the T. I can't offer in home services where I live, but will do as instructed so that your pet enjoys my visit. Just let me know any do's and don'ts and I can take it from there.
About: I’ve taken care of neighborhood pets since the age of 10. Cats will follow me home while walking my dog. Sometimes they just walk with me and go back home while others will try to stay! Some of the cats stop to see if there are any treats and give me the slow blink if I’m looking out the window! I adopted a dog three months ago and he was twice the weight he should have been. Through walking and better nutrition and habits, he is happy, healthy and acting like a much younger dog! He offers me a hip bump, when I pick up the leash! I am not planning to provide pet care at my home unless it is an emergency. My home is safe for animals. It is both dog and cat proofed. We have learned though the years and each pet has had different needs.
“I was so lucky to have found Vickie to sit with my two pups while I was on a long trip. I had never left my dogs with anyone before and was so nervous until I met her. She was so kind and met my pups ahead of time to make them comfortable. She was very trustworthy and I knew I could enjoy my trip knowing they were in excellent hands. I would recommend Vickie to anyone and was so thankful that she took such great care of them. She really went above and beyond and sent me updates just to see how they were doing. Thank you Vickie for everything!”

“Sydney was so wonderful with our pets and there are 5 of them so they can be a handful. She has great communication and was very prompt and on time. She sent lots of updates and stayed in contact with us for our entire trip. She left the house cleaner than when we left and our dogs were so well taken care of. Highly recommend!”

About: I have owned dogs and cats since 1985 and was on a K9 Search and Rescue team for 18+ years so I have worked with all types of dogs and have a lot of experience with training. I currently work outside the home M-F 9-5 but can work from home upon request. Weekends I am home the majority of the time and spend most of my time hanging out with my own dogs (two labs) I have hosted a variety of dogs in my home including corgis, labs, goldens, frenchies, pitties, mals, and other assorted breeds. I treat everyone's pets just like my own - lots of treats, snuggles, couch naps, and of course sleeping on the bed if they want. Both of my labs are extremely friendly and love pretty much all dogs, but I do have experience sitting some dogs who preferred to be separate from my boys via either baby gates or kennels (depending on what the dog is comfortable with). I have a large fenced in backyard and a smaller fenced in front yard. The backyard has a doggie door that allows the dogs to go in and out at will, although when I am not home, I do not give any dogs access to the yard (even my own dogs as a safety issue).
About: i have taken care of animals all my life from dogs, cats, lizards, and birds i will make your animal feel loved just like if it was my own pet im currently working part time at a dog grooming place so im not busy so i have time to walk and take care of your animals when needed. i have a huge yard for my six dogs where we go out when it’s nice out to play ball and run to get some energy out of them and we have a separate room for their crates so when we leave we put them in crates so they don’t get into anything
“Kaitlyn took such great care of my two dogs while we were out of town. She was a pro at meeting the needs of my senior girl. She was even willing to stay at our house so our dogs could be comfortable in their own space. Kaitlyn sent lots of photos and updates, and it was so easy to communicate with her before, during, and after her stay. I would definitely recommend her for any of your pet care needs, and we will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Karen was awesome! She stayed at the house during the recent snow storm and she went above and beyond. We didn't have to worry about a thing. Beckett was sad to see her go. We will definitely be using her again.”

“Amanda was great with our three Husky’s. They are all blowing their coats and she did a great job keeping up with the flying fur. Our dogs were so calm and relaxed when we got home, she did a great job of keeping me updated and I didn’t have to worry about whether or not they were well cared for during our vacation!”

“Rachel was amazing! This was a very last minute request and she accommodated and was very flexible. She took amazing care of my pup and kept me well informed and updated with photos, even though I didn't have service and kept getting them at weird times it was great seeing my baby boy and know he was doing good when I did. I would absolutely recommend and use Rachel again!!”

About: Me and my siblings grew up taking care of dogs. I’ve grown to love all of our family pets over the years. We’ve taken turns training, feeding, playing, and walking together. Have lots of fond memories! I generally can do most days anytime! Im free five days of the week, and pretty flexible, would love to just be able to help any opportunity. I do the basic things, take walks, feedings, play together, go outside for potty breaks. With my cats I scoop their litter daily, and we play occasionally.
About: I have extensive experience with animals of all sorts. I grew up with English mastiff dogs, then became a husky lover later on in life. I've owned sheep, goats, cows, horses, chickens, dogs, cats and much more. I grew up on a mini farm and we always had different animals who were raised with lots of love and care. I'm looking to replace one of my part time jobs with taking care of your awesome pets! I will only accept clients if I have the time to give your pets the best care. I am great at following your most detailed instructions for your home. At this time I cannot care for pets in my home because I am not set up for that but will be in the future.
About: Hi, I’m Halie, and I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I had a Black Lab named Jasmine (yes, like the princess from *Aladdin*!), and when she crossed the rainbow bridge, my mom adopted Maggie, a rescued German Shepherd mix. Maggie was spunky, a little wild, and always ready for snuggles. In 2013, I moved from Ohio to Houston, Texas, and saying goodbye to my childhood dog left a hole in my heart. A few months after settling in, I adopted my sweet Coco, a Black Mouth Cur mix. She is affectionate, full of life, and has taught me a lot about caring for dogs with separation anxiety. Shortly after adopting Coco, I began working at a pet resort, where she came to work with me every day and spent her time playing in doggy daycare with her friends while I managed the front desk. I worked there for two years and gained valuable experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities. Today, Coco and I live in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs recovering from TPLO surgery, administered insulin injections to diabetic dogs, and provided various oral and topical medications. I’m comfortable caring for pets with special needs and understand the importance of patience, consistency, and attention to detail. As a stay-at-home mom with a daughter who will be going into second grade, I have a flexible schedule and plenty of availability to meet your pet care needs. I would love the opportunity to get to know your furry family members and provide them with the love, attention, and care they deserve while you’re away. I am currently a stay at home mom of 1 daughter who is in second grade. I'm available from around 9am until 3:00 when she gets off the bus. I am free Monday-Friday and occasional weekends and after 3pm if needed. I do not offer in home care but in a clients home I will follow any of the instructions they give me. Wether it is taking your babies on a walk to go potty or playing fetch with them in the yard. I am well versed in medication management and have dealt with 2 dogs who have had TPLO surgeries.
About: I've been taking care of animals since I was a little girl, I've always told my parents I wanted to be a vet growing up so I went to a vocational school for veterinary assistance and got my grooming and vet assistance certificates. I've had dogs, cats, horses, bunnies, snakes, spiders just everything, me and my husband have trained several dogs, we have had ling boarding stays that went on for a couple months and weve also rescued quite a few dogs and found them new homes! Im always available I work from home and my husband works night shifts, my dog also loves having someone to play with whenever he can We have a big enough house they can run around and it not be a issue, we have a back yard that will soon be fenced in and I'm always gonna be home
About: I enjoy taking care of all animals and won't turn one away if I can help. I've taken care of dogs for over 20 years, a senior dog for 6+ years, administrating medicine, cleaning up messes, assisting getting around the house; cats for 10 years, ferrets, old and senior, for 12 years, and chinchillas for about 8 years. I also have experience with Guinea pigs. I follow instructions, I'm never late, and will go the extra mile to ensure your pet is getting the best service I can provide. Caring for or tending to your pet would have priority over anything else, and will be taken as seriously as I would as "normal job". I feed, bath, prepare and administer medication, clean up messes, litter boxes, and puppy pads; also know how to ensure your home is safe for your animals, like moving thing to higher places, block/gate off dangerous areas, restricting them to safe/play zones (if needed) within the house, have a variety of toys for them to keep entertained and play with them myself.
“Joey and Angie were very kind and easy to work with. Joey was respectful of my home, brought in packages and mail, and kept me updated on the dogs while I was away. Communication was good throughout the stay, and it was clear that Joey cared about the dogs’ well-being. Overall, I appreciated the help and care provided during my trip.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Homewood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Homewood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Homewood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Homewood. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 91% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 92% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
