Shelly did a good job with our spicy guy’s special needs for injected medicine with supper. We were able to enjoy an evening out without worrying.

About: Animals have always been part of my life. I’ve raised five dogs from puppyhood and have worked with many breeds, ages, and personalities. I also have experience caring for cats, reptiles, and small mammals, making me a reliable choice for families with diverse pets who need patient, knowledgeable support. I offer fully open availability, providing flexible, reliable care whenever your pets need support. My schedule is built around consistency and convenience for pet parents, and every visit reflects my commitment to animal welfare. As I grow my business, I’m also working toward my long‑term dream of opening a multi‑species rescue to help even more animals thrive. I care for pets in the way that keeps them happiest and most comfortable. In your home, I follow your routines exactly—feeding, walks, playtime, enrichment, medication, and any house rules your pet already knows—so their day feels familiar and stress‑free. In my home, pets enjoy a safe, supervised environment with structured potty breaks, cozy rest areas, and plenty of attention. Whether it’s walks, drop‑ins, boarding, or overnights, I make sure every pet gets individualized care, consistent communication, and a calm, loving experience.

Michelle was OUTSTANDING! We had a dog sitter we have been using for the past few years and recently she had to stop due to life changes. Michelle came to meet us and instantly we knew she would take great care of our boys. I have 2 dogs (12 and 9), my eldest is a rescue and very anxious around new people. Michelle was patient and worked with him. After one drop in visit they were buds. The younger dog is a St Bernard and Michelle had no issues with caring for him and his size. He forgets he is a giant at times ? Michelle took very good care of our boys as well as our home. We have SEVERAL indoor plants and Michelle was attentive to all. She cleaned and took in the mail. It was wonderful coming home to happy pups, healthy plants, and a clean home. We would recommend Michelle to anyone! Can’t wait to have her hang with our boys again. Thank you Michelle!

About: We’ve always had pets at our house and cousins’ houses growing up, and as you’ve probably seen in my pictures, I always love being around animals! I’m starting a new position in a few months, and since I love animals, I thought that pet-sitting would be the perfect thing to do in the meantime! It is definitely important to make sure that the pets are taken outside often to go to the bathroom and move around with fresh air. It’s also important to read the body language of the pet- some pets need more exercise than others.

About: My whole life as long as I remember I was the biggest pet lover. I had my own pets and I’ve taken care and walked the dogs of my neighborhood. I just love them. I work part time, which gives me a lot of time to do my favorite thing: pet sitting!!! I work part time and have a lot of time for my favorite hobby which is caring for these lovely creatures. I have a fenced in yard and I love walking in the woods with the doggies. I have a fenced in yard and I walk the dogs three times a day. My 2 lovely dogs will keep your dogs company. I will make sure they are spoiled.

About: I’ve cared for my own dogs since I was young. Responsible, patient, and attentive, I love connecting with dogs beyond the bare minimum, giving them real love and attention. I am a full time student, my classes end around noon time, the latest being 1:45 on Fridays. I have a part time job as well, but my work schedule is very flexible as I can pick the days I work in advance. My home is a safe and welcoming space for dogs. I have a large, fenced backyard where they can play and explore. I live with my parents, which just means even more love for the future pups! I have a small Chihuahua who mostly keeps to herself, but if any issues arise, there’s enough space in the house to separate them. If your dog needs a crate, I can accommodate for that too!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Julia! Fitzy and Javi are extremely shy, fearful, and apprehensive around strangers, so I was very nervous about leaving them in someone else’s care. Julia went above and beyond to spend extra time with them, earn their trust, and make them feel safe and comfortable. She was always responsible, punctual, professional, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. I could tell she truly cared about my boys and treated them as if they were her own. Knowing they were in such good hands gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. I would absolutely recommend Julia to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate cat sitter, and I cannot wait to book with her again in the future! Fitzy and Javi say, “Thank you, Julia! We hope to see you again soon!”

About: I like to watch it’s me or the dog every night. And my cat from hell. I’m interested in getting my dog training certificate in the nearest future. My cat brings me such joy. He is a 16 year old black cat and such a good boy! He can even go on walks with us. I work for the Worcester Public schools and have all school vacations off. I am able to come and do house calls in the evening time (4-late night) or house sit overnight on weekdays or weekends. Also during school vacations including the summer. We have an indoor house cat. He’s declawed and very friendly. We also have a fenced in area in the backyard with very high fences. There is possibility that borders could be segregated from the cat if necessary. We are in a good neighborhood for walking and very near some good trails.

As of September 2026, there are 6,641 sitters on Rover offering Pet Sitting across Holden. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Holden stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Holden. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 93% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
