About: I have experience caring for a variety of animals, including senior dogs; I have assisted in caring for our large-breed senior with cancer. I bring patience, reliability, and strong attention to detail to every visit, and I prioritize each pet’s comfort, routine, and well-being. I have a flexible daily schedule that allows me to provide attentive and reliable care for pets in my care. I plan my days around studying and part-time work, which gives me the ability to be present and consistent. Dogs in my care are always let out regularly throughout the day, and I make sure they get plenty of time for walks, exercise, play, and comfort so they feel happy and well cared for. For walks and drop-ins, I have good availability throughout the week and prioritize being punctual and consistent for every visit. I care for every pet as if they are my own, focusing on a consistent, calm, and comfortable routine. In my home, I have a relaxed senior dog, and pets are closely supervised with regular bathroom breaks, walks, and playtime. While I do not have a fenced-in yard, I provide safe outdoor time through leashed walks and visits to a nearby neighborhood dog park (with owner approval). I’m also comfortable caring for crate-trained dogs and following any specific routines. In a client’s home, I follow instructions closely for feeding, walks, bathroom breaks, and playtime, and I always provide updates and photos so owners feel at ease.

About: I have cared for many pets my whole life! I’ve taken in feral litters of cats and helped raise them until they were able to be adopted, I have cats, and help with the care of 4 dogs of varying sizes. I have had cats and all types of dogs growing up! I love making sure furry family feels loved, and gets taken care of. I am just starting out, however Rover is my full time job. I use this platform so I can still care for my little brother on the weekends. Some people have help with Rover, but I am working solo so please be patient with me. I have a fenced in portion of the yard just for our dogs to run around as they please, they have set meal times and have constant access to love and snuggles! My cats also get all the love and playtime they want.

Bradley is a gem! He accepted my request at the last minute after two other walkers cancelled. Juliet loves him. She comes home tired and happy. He even managed to get my other dog out the door for a potty (Owen is a mama's boy and only goes out for me). Super pleased and very grateful for the professionalism.

About: Hi! I’m Jay, a dependable, trustworthy animal lover who understands that pets are family. I take pride in being reliable, attentive, and treating every dog as if they were my own. I have a flexible schedule outside of my full-time career, allowing me to provide walks, drop-in visits, and quality one-on-one attention. Whether your dog needs a quick potty break, an energetic walk, or someone to keep them company while you’re away, you can count on me to be there on time and provide exceptional care. I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes and personalities, from playful puppies to senior dogs who need a little extra patience and care. I’ll follow your pet’s routine closely, including feeding schedules, medications (if needed), exercise, and any special instructions you provide. When your pet is with me, you’ll receive regular updates, photos, and messages so you can relax knowing they’re safe, happy, and well cared for. My goal is simple: earn your trust by providing dependable service and giving your pet the love, attention, and care they deserve. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! I have a German Shepard/lab dog so taking care of your fur baby will blend right in with our daily walk sessions when the weather allows us to do so. Your for baby will be an excellent hands with the help of our dog Jacob. We have a huge backyard which is more than enough room for the babies to play. Not to worry they are never left unattended

About: I’ve been a pet owner and caretaker most of my life. I’ve helped or solely taken care of my own pets, family pets and those of friends. I have experience with elderly dogs and puppies big and small, as well as giving oral medications if needed. I make sure to be meticulous and careful especially with the precious fur children of others. My experience with dogs is much stronger than with cats but I certainly don’t mind helping out with kitties:) Not currently working, so I’ll have plenty of time to take care of any pet needs, be it walking, feeding, time to play etc. Available week days throughout the whole day. I make sure to keep a good eye on pets, taking them out regularly and making sure they’re properly fed and cared for, especially should specific needs have to be met. Typically, I spend my time in the home near and around the animals, even if not actively playing or interacting with them. I let pets go on as they normally would, so as to let them stay comfortable, as long as I can keep an eye on them.

About: Working in veterinary medicine, I can understand basic animal needs and care. I have been taking care of animals for over 10 years. I will treat your babies like they are my own I work two jobs, both in opposite directions, so to be able to housesit. And given a good amount of time to request days off to give your baby my full attention I prefer housesitting over boarding at my personal home, it’s easier for me, and I feel like the pets would prefer their own home over anyone elses

About: With 15+ years of professional animal care experience, I’ve done it all — from leading 20+ dog playgroups to training puppies and snuggling senior pups and caring for cats with special needs. 🐾 I absolutely love what I do and treat every pet like my own! Whether it’s a fun walk, a good game of fetch, or cozy cuddle time, I make sure your furry friend feels happy, loved, and totally at ease while you’re away. Reliable, upbeat, and animal-obsessed — I can’t wait to meet your pet! ❤️ I currently work from home, which makes it easy to fit pet care into my day. I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time for walks, feedings, and play breaks. Since I’m home most of the day, I can give each pet consistent attention and make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. IN MY HOME— The second and third photos in my gallery are of my property. I have a large, fully gated backyard that’s just under an acre, giving dogs plenty of space to safely run, play, and explore. It’s a great environment for pups to get their energy out while still being secure at all times. For dogs who prefer a calmer environment or need a bit more structure, I can easily accommodate their needs and adjust care based on what makes them most comfortable. My goal is always to make sure every dog feels safe, relaxed, and well cared for while enjoying lots of outdoor time. IN YOUR HOME— When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always make sure to respect both the pet’s routine and the owner’s space. I carefully follow all instructions for feeding, walking, medications, and any house rules to keep things consistent and stress-free for the pet. I take time to make sure each animal feels comfortable and loved — whether that means extra playtime, calm companionship, or simply keeping them company while they rest. I also keep the home tidy, make sure everything is secure, and send regular updates and photos so owners can relax knowing their pets are are happy and cared for. There’s also a clean swimmable pond on the property for dogs who enjoy swimming and cooling off on warm days. For pups who can’t run freely or need a bit more structure, I have two indoor/outdoor kennels available. Each kennel has a cozy heated indoor area with comfortable bedding and an outdoor section that’s fully covered for shade and weather protection. The use of kennels is completely optional and only done with the owner’s consent — most dogs love having both options for play and relaxation. About: What sets me apart is my reliability, awareness, and attention to detail. I’m used to staying calm under pressure and paying close attention to my surroundings, which translates directly into keeping your pet safe on every walk. I’m comfortable handling strong, energetic dogs as well as more timid or older pets, and I always prioritize consistency, safety, and clear communication with owners. I work full-time night shifts (6 PM–6 AM) about 14 days a month, which gives me plenty of free time during the day, as well as before and after work. This allows me to give pets the attention they deserve—whether that’s walks, playtime, or just keeping them company. I enjoy being active with animals and making sure they’re happy, comfortable, and well cared for. Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for any pet. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding schedules, walk times, and any specific instructions from the owner. I make sure the environment is secure, clean, and free of hazards, and I always keep a close eye on pets during walks or visits. I respect my client’s home, maintain clear communication, and ensure pets feel comfortable and stress-free while in my care.

About: I have owned both dogs and cats my entire life from 10lbs to 100+. I have no formal training but have yet to meet a dog I wasn't able to leash train with no pulling or jumping within a few sessions. I am confident and not easily intimidated with large or loud dogs which makes establishing a bond and rapport easier and quicker. Giving medication or any special needs are not an issue. My dog is my Queen so I understand special requests and also not an issue. I will go the extra mile whatever that entails, including walking an entire mile if that’s what your baby needs. Willing to come early or later if it looks like bad weather so your loved one gets the exercise they need. I prefer to meet more challenging dogs before committing to ensure I am the perfect fit. Always available to answer any questions or concerns and love to send photos so you know your pet is getting the attention they need. I recently quit my job to start my own small business which has been a success but find myself with a lot of extra time. I will have a consistent, reliable weekday schedule with varying availability on weekends. I am not able to board or sit pets in my home as it is not large enough but can easily do it in yours. My dog Mya and cat Narcissa are both treated like queens in every sense of the word and will treat yours as if they were mine. During walks I will always have plenty of cool water on hand and pay extra attention to over heating and hot pavement. I walk for as long as your dog wants or needs to during the scheduled visit time. I am not opposed to special requests like medication administration or even simple bathing for additional fee. I will always be available to communicate with, will report any issues that need attention, and send as many photos of our time together as you wish.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Highland Park. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Highland Park.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Highland Park. On Rover:

  • 94% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
