“My 2 cats were taken care of with kindness, attention and in a timely manner. I hadn't had to hire a pet sitter before and it was great have the confidence in a sitter so I could enjoy my time away.”

“Emily was great, all of our cats seemed great upon return. She was responsive and very thoughtful. She even thought to ask if she should do anything extra when a large storm was coming through.”

About: Hello! I have always loved taking care of animals, I have pet sat recently for my cousin, I used to pet sit for my neighbor before I moved, I’ve taken care of my own pets since I was a kid, and I’m experienced with both cats and dogs! I do work, but I have days off, and I don’t always work all day, I’ll know my schedule ahead of time, so I’d be be transparent with my availability. I’m always off on weekends though! Of course I’d talk to you about the pets routine, whether it be feeding or even bathroom times depending on your animal, and from there I’d make sure all the requirements are met! I’d play, and of course make sure I supervise your pet! I’ll make sure to follow any rules owners may have!

“Thank you Coralie! We were at ease knowing you were taking care of Tuna and Oatis while we were gone, and we loved seeing all the photos of the cats. Tuna clearly loves you 🥰 Hope to book you again next time!”

About: I’ve been caring for animals since I was 10 years old, starting by helping my parents with there pet-sitting. By the time I turned 14, I began pet sitting on my own, and I’ve been trusted ever since. Neighbors, friend, and family rely on me to walk, feed, bathe, and look after their pets like they’re my own With years of hand-on experience, I understand how important it is to keep pet safe, happy, and comfortable. Whether it’s daily walks, drop-ins, or full-time care, I’m committed to giving every pet the attention and love they deserve. My schedule is flexible, and I’m available throughout the week for walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting. I plan my days around the pets I care for, making sure they get consistent attention, timely feedings, and regular outdoor time. Whether you need early-morning help, mid-day visits, or evening care, I work to accommodate your routine and keep your pet’s day running smoothly. Safety is always my top priority. I make sure every pet is supervised, secure, and cared for according to their routine and needs. I follow instructions closely, keep environments clean, and pay attention to details so pets stay comfortable and stress-free. Families, neighbors, and friends have trusted me for years because I treat every animal with patience, respect, and consistency. Your pet’s well-being comes first, and I work hard to create a calm, safe environment they can relax in.
About: I grew up in a house full of animals and have been caring for dogs and cats ever since. I understand how stressful it is to leave your pet with someone new, so I make it my priority to follow their routines and keep them comfortable. My experience includes: - Senior pets who need slower-paced care and extra attention - Puppies and younger dogs who need training reinforcement and boundaries - Shy or anxious pets who take time to warm up - Cats with specific feeding schedules, litter preferences, or medical needs - Multi-pet households where each animal has different requirements I take this work seriously because I know what your pet means to you. When you book with me, you're not getting someone who's just going through the motions. You're getting someone who will care for your dog or cat the way they deserve. I work remotely with a flexible schedule, which means I'm home most of the day. That gives me time to: - Take dogs on multiple walks or play sessions throughout the day - Keep cats on their normal feeding and playtime routines - Stay present for pets who need companionship or have separation anxiety I can adjust my availability based on your needs, whether that's overnight stays, drop-in visits, or regular walking. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. In your home: - I follow your routines exactly—feeding times, walk routes, medication schedules, bedtime habits - I keep doors and gates secure, especially with escape-prone cats or anxious dogs - I send updates and photos so you know how things are going - I treat your home with respect and leave it the way I found it In my home: - Clean, pet-friendly space with secure doors and windows - Separate areas for pets who need their own space (especially important for cats) - Comfortable sleeping areas, fresh water, and plenty of playtime or downtime based on what they prefer When you trust me with your pet, I take that seriously. They get the same care, consistency, and attention I'd give my own. No exceptions.

Though it’s always been my dream to start my own boarding company in the future! I’ve worked with animals for 3 years plus, non profit organizations within shelters or adoption events within volunteer work, along with working at a pet store a couple years at Carter’s Pet Mart. Since working their I’ve built my own clientele with house sitting birds previously sold from us, or dogs that come in regularly for nail trims for me! As a child i’ve always had a passion for caring for animals, which has grown into the person I am today! I would love to meet yours furry friends! Pet care fits into my weekly routine as I house sit on a regular basis for plenty of people birds and dogs. I am a college student looking to make extra money outside of my regular job at a Law Office to make extra cash for college expenses and saving up for my own future as I am an independent student. I prefer to house sit, as it works into my schedule well, and makes potty breaks and etc, a lot more simpler and happier for your furry ones! During my work days I stop by multiple times a day to do potty breaks, and give them some love for a moment. On my days off i enjoy to walk the dogs or play with the birds by giving enrichment. As a college student and worker, I find the time throughout my day if working or having class to stop by throughout the day to do multiple potty breaks. Some prefer for me to stay at their home with their animals, and some just prefer for me to stop by and hang out with them as well as feed and water, and clean any business that had been done. Either way I am willing to do so! Though I do prefer to watch pets in the clients home.
About: I’ve always loved animals and genuinely enjoy getting to know their individual personalities, routines, and quirks. I believe pets deserve more than simply being checked on. They deserve attention, affection, play, and care that makes them feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. I have experience caring for dogs of different ages and personalities, including puppies who need help with house-training, crate routines, and learning good habits. I also enjoy walks, playtime, enrichment, and giving dogs plenty of positive attention. I’m equally comfortable caring for cats and love spending time playing with them, giving them affection, and keeping them company in their own home. My approach is patient, gentle, and attentive. I’ll follow the routines and instructions you’ve established for your pet and keep you updated so you know how they’re doing while you’re away. Whether your pet needs a good walk, some playtime and companionship, puppy care, or someone to stay with them while you’re gone, I’d love to help make their time without you as easy and comfortable as possible. I am currently going to school part-time so my schedule is fairly flexible during the week. I am also open on the weekends too. I am attentive and caring and have a home with a fenced yard. My sweet, friendly dog is named Cali. She has a relaxed temperament and can be a gentle friend to keep your precious one company while you’re away. I have great attention to detail and do well following directions. I can easily crate if requested.
“Lesley is a very sweet and kind person who was willing to listen to my requests of how to take care of my cat, Remy who requires extra care since she can’t walk. She has the patience and willingness to learn and care for any pet. I would definitely recommend Lesley and hire her again.”

About: I’m readily available on weekends (morning, afternoon, evening)! During the week I work part-time so I’m not available for the full 7 days. I make sure to treat other people’s homes with respect and care. I keep an eye out for any messes and clean them up if needed.
“Alyssa is great and handles our Samson really well! She is on time and walks our dog for most of the drop in, letting out energy while our family is out of the house. Samson comes back happy and content.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
