“Alisha was just amazing. Our pups all loved her and we could leave them without a worry, knowing they were being well cared for as if they were her own. She sent some pictures and we had excellent communication. I highly recommend!!!”

About: I've been an animal lover my whole life, and that love just seems to keep growing the older I get. I've had a variety of resident pets over the years, including hamsters, birds, chinchillas, cats and dogs. I've been fostering through an animal rescue for 8 years and have cared for up to 20 animals at once, in my home. I started whelping a year and a half ago so I have extensive experience with dogs of all ages, newborn to senior. I am comfortable with all animals and look forward to meeting your beloved family member(s)! I currently work part time at an animal sanctuary for special needs cats and dogs. My schedule is flexible on most days and we can work something out on the days I am at work I have a farm with a large fenced in yard and 2 very friendly dogs that can keep yours company. I also have a chihuahua who absolutely loves people, but takes a little bit to warm up to a new furry face. I also have 2 super laid back cats who will observe from a distance. I have a dedicated puppy room that your dog can stay in; I can also crate them if needed or more comfortable for them or can let them hang with the family as much as they'd like to. We do let our animals on furniture but will adhere to any "rules" you have in place for your pet. We've had many animals come through our home on a temporary basis and do whatever we can to ensure they feel safe and comfortable.

Dogs have always had a special place in my heart and I cherish each old and new relationship! I am blessed to still have my 12 year old red fox lab in my life, so I take care of her daily. I have many loved ones who sometimes need help caring for their pets and I am always first on their list to contact. I love to be outside and partaking in physical activity, so I would love to provide a service for walking/exercising your pets! When clients communicate with me how they want me to meet their dogs needs, I will do everything I can to meet that expectation!
“Desiree has been the biggest delight to work with. Her communication is impeccable. Any questions I have asked she has responded immediately answering all questions and then some. We could enjoy our time away with family knowing our babies were in good hands. She kept me updated as to how they were throughout. We were so pleased that we have already booked our next visit.”

“Marissa was wonderful with Jackson! She kept me informed and shared pictures while we were away. She was also house sitting for us which made our vacation worry free! I will definitely use Marissa in the future.”
“Amanda went beyond the call of duty caring for our two dogs, who are quite comfortable at home but had never been watched by a stranger for an extended period of time (18 days). Both dogs took right to Amanda. She supplied text and photo updates throughout our time away. She followed instructions to the letter and didn't hesitate to ask questions or suggest an idea if it came up. The house was spotless when we got back, and the dogs were happy. There's no question we'll seek out Amanda again if the need arises. We don't think you'll find a better sitter.”

“Hannah was a great communicator before, during and after taking care of our lab, Lulu. She left the house clean AND with a small vase of fresh flowers And a crocheted deer cap!! Wow what a great experience.”

About: One of my favorite things about working with dogs is that every dog has a different personality. I take the time to learn what makes each one comfortable and happy, and I adjust my care to fit their needs. Whether your dog is energetic, shy, playful, or laid-back, I’ll make sure they feel safe, cared for, and loved. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine, and I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide reliable care throughout the week. I enjoy staying active, so dog walks and visits are something I genuinely look forward to. I make it a priority to be dependable, communicate with owners, and ensure pets receive the attention and care they need. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I always follow the owner’s instructions and routine to help pets feel comfortable and secure. I take the time to build trust with each pet, pay attention to their individual needs, and provide plenty of care, attention, and updates while you’re away.
About: I’ve had dogs in my life for as long as I can remember—everything from energetic Labs to laid-back Basset Hounds, plus a rescue puppy that I personally helped train and grow into a well-behaved companion. That hands-on experience has taught me how to understand different temperaments, energy levels, and care needs. From basic training and leash manners to patience with shy or stubborn pups, I’ve learned that every dog is unique and deserves personalized attention. I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes and personalities, and I genuinely enjoy building trust and creating a positive, fun experience for them every time we’re together. Whether your dog needs a quick potty break, a long adventure walk, or just some extra love while you’re busy, I treat every walk like it matters—because it does. I tailor each visit to your dog’s personality, pace, and needs, making sure they feel safe, stimulated, and happy every step of the way. You’ll get regular updates, photos, and peace of mind knowing your furry friend is in caring, responsible hands. From playful pups to senior sweethearts, I’m experienced, attentive, and ready to keep tails wagging. Full time job but available in the evenings and weekends to take care of your furry friends, whether that’s a potty break or a walk on my way home from work, or hanging out all weekend! When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I follow all instructions closely—whether that’s feeding schedules, walk times, medication, or any specific habits your pet is used to. During visits, I make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, exercise, and affection, not just the basics. I keep their environment clean, refresh water bowls, and make sure they’re safe and comfortable before I leave. I’m also mindful of your home, treating it with respect and keeping everything just as I found it.
“Hannah is a repeat sitter for us and always does an amazing job. She is a great communicator and does an amazing job ensuring our two dogs get the exercise and cuddles they need!”

About: Hi there! My name is Michelle and Ive been a pet owner since I was a child. My family always had dogs, cats, pocket pets, and the occasional tarantula. Im the niece of a large animal veterinarian whose clinic I volunteered at after school and summers. Currently my husband and I are owned by a Labrador Retriever and an English Setter. We are active with a national English Setter rescue, which is where our beautiful boy came from, and run volunteer transports of dogs on their way to foster or forever homes. *** Due to personal reasons, for House Sitting bookings I sleep at my own home. I will arrange my arrival and departure times at your home, to whatever your preferences are. I usually arrive around 6am and leave between 9 and 10pm, but thats variable based on your pet's routine.*** Im semi-retired! My routine is whatever it needs to be from day to day. Im a firm believer in being flexible to meet the situation's needs. Each pet is different. Some are couch potatoes, some want to hike the Alps, but all need mental stimulation and tons of hugs. Playtime, walks, treats and any other interactions you, as the expert on your pet, request of me, are part of the services I offer.
About: I have experience pet sitting dogs, cats, lizards, turtles, rabbits, chicken and more! While cats and dogs ate important family members so are all our other creature friends! I have also worked at the Minnesota Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, rescuing and rehabilitating injured birds from across the state. I’m currently a college student in my last year at UWRF, I’m free most evening to come see your pet and eager to discuss schedule specifics more in depth! I’m happy to drop by and play or stay overnight. Once summer is here I can be avail during the day! Going to your home to watch your pets helps to reduce stress for them when you’re gone by allowing them to stay in a place they already trust. That being said I’m also happy to take pets on adventures to things like the dog park or pet store to help give them enrichment!
About: I have worked for roughly two years dog sitting for friends and family. Typically these have been in my own home - occasionally overnight. I have a fenced in back yard for my 3 dogs & 2 cats so I have experience with both :) I have complete availability currently, so my dog at home gets quite a lot of walks and park time. If possible, i also try to socialize him with people each day. Typically I take my dog to the dog park in the evening with a long walk in the morning. This works best for my dogs energy levels, but each dog is different. I am also trying to socialize my dog in public as he is a bit scared of humans so we try to hit some breweries here and there.

About: What began as a favor for a neighbor has evolved into a passion for giving excellent and reliable care to an assortment of breeds of dogs. I also enjoy cats! I’m currently working part time which allows plenty of time to do walks and playtime. With advanced notice l am available to either do overnight care in your home or mine. I live in a spacious apartment with a fenced playground and walking paths. I also am able to walk or play with your pet in your neighborhood.

FAQs for House Sitting - Hersey
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 325 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hersey. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hersey walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hersey maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hersey choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
