I follow feeding schedules, administer medications if needed, engage in playtime and exercise, and offer plenty of affection and attention. When caring for pets in the client’s home, I treat the space and pets with respect, following all owner instructions carefully. I maintain routines as directed, ensure pets have fresh water and food, and provide companionship and exercise. About: I’ve grown up with dogs for most of my life, and have done some dogsitting and dog walking before. I’ll admit it’s been a bit since I had to focus on school work for my psych degree, but now that I have to wait till fall for grad school, I figured now is the time to help out some furry friends! I’m an animal lover at heart and am not only interested in, but willing to help with any accommodations! Our pets deserve the best after all! :) I only have class on Monday afternoons, but sadly the rest of my schedule is pretty up in the air right now. I tend to be more of a night owl so I can help cats when they’re more active at night. I tend to work best with detailed instructions. I don’t want to disturb any routine and want the animal to feel as comfortable as possible.
“Ryan was so attentive and went above and beyond for our leash-reactive pup on their twice-daily walks. He made us feel comfortable leaving the country and leaving our dog in someone else’s care.”

“Thank you so much for taking care of River once again. My dad called and told me how awesome you are. River can be a lot but he has taken to you and he listens! You always go over and beyond. Im also jealous of your picture taking skills while catching River in motion. Lol”

“Elisha was wonderful! She last minute was able to pick up our dog walk request and was quick to communicate with me to set up times that worked best for us both. From the many pictures she sent of our pup on her walk, I can tell that she was happy and tired after! 10/10 recommend and I would definitely have her walk my girl again!”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
