“I cannot recommend Sophie enough! We were in a huge pinch with a last-minute booking for our Teddy, during our two-day wedding event. From the start, she was an absolute professional—responding quickly and even making letting us know immediately if she's available. She provided frequent photo and message updates throughout the two days, which completely eased our nerves while we were busy with wedding festivities. She followed all care instructions perfectly, and in a last minute issue she never broke professionalism. Knowing Teddy was in capable hands allowed us to actually enjoy our wedding weekend without worrying. We returned to a happy dog who clearly was well taken care of. She truly went above and beyond for a specialty booking like this. If you need someone I highly recommend Sophie!”

“Dalton is top notch. He was prompt, and notified us when he arrived and when he left. Notifications included pics of our three babies. Throughout his stay Dalton communicated with us regularly, and provided additional pics of our puppies' 'goings about'. He was very prompt with responding to any messages i sent. Our dogs took to him at the meet n greet, which was already an indicator of Dalton's character and natural love for dogs. We felt very confident that it would go well, even though this was our first experience with Rover, and Dalton. We've already requested another booking with him.”

About: Hi! I am a Biology student in my mid-20s in the process of obtaining my second bachelor's degree and working toward a career in animal conservation. Caring for animals has always been more than just a job to me. I've loved animals my whole life. I've had/cared for dogs and cats for over ten years. I have been pet-sitting professionally for friends, family, and others for the past five years. I've cared for animals of all sizes, breeds, ages, and personalities. Whether your dog is full of energy and loves to play, enjoys long walks, or is a little shy or anxious, I'm happy to adjust my care to fit what makes them feel most comfortable. I know every dog is different, and I enjoy getting to know their personality and routine. I'm experienced with overnight stays, drop-in visits, feeding schedules, administering medications, and caring for homes with multiple pets. I always do my best to keep your pet's routine as normal as possible while you're away because I know that consistency helps them feel safe and comfortable. I'll also send plenty of photos, videos, and updates so you can see how your pet is doing and have peace of mind while you're gone. My goal is to treat every dog like they're my own—with patience, love, and lots of attention. I know how much our pets mean to us, and I'd love the opportunity to care for yours. Pet sitting fits naturally into my schedule because it's my main focus outside of school. I'm a Biology student, so while I do have classes during the week, I have plenty of flexibility before and after class, as well as on weekends and holidays. I will keep my calendar updated if any changes occur. I love spending my free time with animals, whether that's going for walks, playing with energetic pets, or just keeping them company and making sure they feel comfortable while you're away. When caring for pets in a client's home, my goal is to keep their routine as normal as possible. I know pets are often most comfortable in their own environment, so I follow your instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications, and any other special care they may need. I take the time to get to know each pet and adjust to their personality, whether they love to play, prefer quiet companionship, or need a little extra patience to feel comfortable. My priority is making sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you're away. I also treat every client's home with the same respect I would my own. I'll keep things clean, secure, and make sure your pet has everything they need. Throughout my visits or overnight stays, I'll send regular updates, photos, and videos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in good hands.
“Michael took great care of our dogs, walking and and feeding them. They had a better time with him than with us! Great with instructions, would fully recommend Michael for any dog sitting situations.”

“We would give Davey 8 stars if possible. He went above and beyond in caring for MILA and our home. They were perfectly matched and Davey was able to intertwine his work with providing excellent care and attention. We will choose Davey every time when available to love on our dog.”

About: I have had dogs, sometimes multiple ones, all my life. I am an animal lover, and advocate, of all kinds of animals. I just lost my Maltese of 13 years old which traveled the world with me literally. I was only away from him for two nights his whole life, and that was bc he spent the night at the vets one night, and I spent the night at the hospital one night. He went everywhere with me. From restaurants to Walmart. If I went he went. I have no children, so he was my child. I will treat your baby with the same love, and care. I have a newly build house with an acre that is fenced in. So, if your dog is large and likes to run outside, it can. I also have a screened in back porch. You baby will be safe and loved in my home. I am retired and spend most of my time at home. So your dog will be supervised, as per hour request. I am flexible and will listen to the owners request, as much as possible. I have a fenced in acre of land. I also have a screen in back porch. If you have small dogs, they can run freely, and I would stay outside to watch them. If you have large dogs they can stay out all they want. Dogs love me! They know if you are of good character, or not.
About: Hey y’all! I took a break from pet sitting due to my full time job at the clinic but I’ll be back as of 6/5/26💜Animals have always been part of my life. As a teenager I used to do volunteer work with dog shelters/cat sanctuaries, and I currently have 3 years experience as a kennel technician/vet assistant in a clinic setting. As a stay at home parent/wife, I have a flexible schedule to focus on providing care and attention for your fur babies. (Pets with indoor crate/pen training are a plus in case I have to leave the home during the day at any point to ensure your pets safety) I have recently decided to start working from home, so i am able to provide quality time and attention for your pet while they are in my care. (My weekends are mostly open, but during the summer months we spend a lot of time on the lake/river, so it’s also a plus if you have a dog that loves the water. My dachshund would love a boating buddy!) I have a large, shaded fenced in yard where your pets can freely run and play. When your pets are in my care, they are treated the same as my own. My couch is their couch, and if they want to burrow under the covers or at the foot of the bed, mine will just have to scoot on over and make some extra room, haha. Above I mentioned that crate trained pets are a plus for any time during their stay I have to leave the house. My dachshund is a known chewer/scavenger, so she stays in a large indoor pen if I have to leave the house and it has become a safe space for her.
“Jenna was an exceptional House Sitter. She went above and beyond to make sure that our fur babies were well taken care of. She was punctual and attentive. The house was nice and clean when I returned. She’s very communicative and sent photos often. We will definitely be using her again.”

“Elizabeth did a great job when she stayed at our house with our dog for the weekend. We came home to a very happy and healthy pup. Our dog even looked for Elizabeth in the room she was staying in the morning after we returned home. I recommend Elizabeth for caring for your beloved pets.”

I'm at home most of the day. Will give your dog walks and playtime. My dog loves playmates. If your dogs like toys please bring them. The pets will get plenty of attention. Cameras inside and outside of home to monitor the dogs. Plenty of shade in backyard if they like to stay outside.
“I can’t thank Sara enough for taking such wonderful care of my Yuki while I was on a 7-day trip to Europe. I received regular updates and photos, which gave me total peace of mind knowing my dog was happy and safe. When I came home, my Yuki was relaxed and clearly well cared for. I highly recommend Sara to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy dog sitter—I will definitely be booking with her again!”

About: I’ve worked at an animal shelter for a year and a half, where I gained hands on experience caring for animals of all temperaments and ages. My responsibilities included walking dogs, feeding, cleaning, and safely administering medications when needed. Working in a shelter environment has taught me patience, attention to detail, and how to make animals feel safe and comfortable, even in stressful situations. I also have two cats and a dog of my own, so I understand the level of love, responsibility, and care our pets deserve. Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 242 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Helena. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Helena walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Helena maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Helena choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Helena. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
