“Maegan took such good care of my babies. I was nervous to leave them with sitter for the first time but they loved her (even the cat that loves no one). I loved getting the updates while I was gone.”

“Dalton was extremely professional during all of our interactions. He made sure to keep us updated while we were away and sent several photos of Copper. We will definitely use him again if he is available!”
“Michael has watched our dogs twice now. His communication is excellent, and he probably takes better care of our dogs than we do! It’s obvious he truly cares about our animals. Thank you Michael for giving us peace of mind that our dogs are well cared for while we’re away!”

“We took a trip out of town for five nights and needed someone to stay with our two kitties—one being our senior girl with kidney disease who needed a lot of tending to. London could not have done a better job—she made sure everyone was fed, meds were given, the box was scooped, and had their social needs met. 🥰 It really seemed like she took care of our kitties like they were her own. 🥹 Would absolutely book her again.”

About: I have had dogs, sometimes multiple ones, all my life. I am an animal lover, and advocate, of all kinds of animals. I just lost my Maltese of 13 years old which traveled the world with me literally. I was only away from him for two nights his whole life, and that was bc he spent the night at the vets one night, and I spent the night at the hospital one night. He went everywhere with me. From restaurants to Walmart. If I went he went. I have no children, so he was my child. I will treat your baby with the same love, and care. I have a newly build house with an acre that is fenced in. So, if your dog is large and likes to run outside, it can. I also have a screened in back porch. You baby will be safe and loved in my home. I am retired and spend most of my time at home. So your dog will be supervised, as per hour request. I am flexible and will listen to the owners request, as much as possible. I have a fenced in acre of land. I also have a screen in back porch. If you have small dogs, they can run freely, and I would stay outside to watch them. If you have large dogs they can stay out all they want. Dogs love me! They know if you are of good character, or not.
“Amanda was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I will forever use her to watch my babies! She was wonderful and my puppies absolutely adored her! She sent me so many wonderful pictures and took such great care of them and not once did I have to worry about their well being! Thank you so so much and I can’t wait to praise your sitting to other families who are in need of someone caring to watch their babies!”

About: Hi! I’m Linda, and I’ve always loved animals and the comfort, personality, and joy they bring into our lives. I’m dependable, organized, and genuinely enjoy spending time with pets — whether that’s going for walks, giving them attention during drop-in visits, or simply helping them feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away or busy. I work full-time at the University of Southern Mississippi, so I understand how important reliability, communication, and trust are. I’m looking to offer flexible evening and weekend pet care and would love to help give pet owners peace of mind knowing their pets are in good hands. I’m happy to provide updates, photos, and extra attention to help both you and your pet feel comfortable. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I work full-time at the University of Southern Mississippi and have availability during evenings, weekends, and some daytime hours on work-from-home days. I enjoy being active and spending time with animals, so walks and drop-in visits are a great fit for my schedule and lifestyle I focus on making pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while keeping their normal routine as consistent as possible. During walks and drop-in visits, I make sure pets get attention, exercise, fresh water, potty breaks, and plenty of care and patience. I also understand how important communication is for pet owners, so I’m happy to provide updates and photos during visits.

About: I have grown up with dogs all my life, ranging from small medium and large, including senior dogs, walking, feeding, and generally taking care of pets. I have also cat-sit for friends and family changing littler boxes, and feeding cats. Waking, feeding, and generally taking care of pets I am currently in an online certification coarse and looking for part time employment, so I have plenty of time to look after and play with your pets. Please give me a weeks notice beforehand if you require any of my services so I can accordingly plan and block it into my schedule. I am very affectionate, patient, but firm with pets. But I understand that every animal is individual, and must be treated as such. I believe that consistent play time and structure is essential, and will maintain any structure that the pet/pet-owner requires, they are your pets after all.
About: Pet sitting is a long-standing family tradition for us. When my daughters were growing up, their demanding schedules as competitive dancers didn't allow time for them to hold traditional jobs. To help fund their training, the three of us spent years house and pet sitting together during summers and holidays. I taught them the deep responsibility, respect, and attentiveness required to care for someone else's home and animals. In fact, those lessons stuck so well that my daughter, now a professional dancer, still pet sits between her contracts! Growing up, my life was beautifully full of dogs, cats, birds, and horses (along with an open-door policy for any stray or injured animal that needed help, including rabbits, squirrels and armadillos), which gave me a lifetime of hands-on experience and a deep intuition for animal behavior. Over the decades, I have comfortably managed everything from standard routines to specialized care, including administering oral medications, managing strict supplement schedules, and caring for pets recovering from injury or dealing with age-related limitations. I understand that every pet has unique emotional and physical needs, and I pride myself on providing a calm, steady presence that makes them feel safe and completely secure in their own home. Specialized Experience & Capabilities With a lifetime spent surrounded by dogs, cats, birds, and horses, I comfortably provide specialized, high-tier care that goes far beyond standard pet sitting: Puppy & Kitten Socialization: Building foundational bonds, routine structure, and basic command reinforcement. Senior, Hospice, & End-of-Life Care: Providing a gentle, dignified, and highly intuitive environment for aging companions. Medical & Supplement Management: Expert administration of oral medications, strict supplement schedules, and precise medical timelines. Injury & Surgery Recovery: Meticulous oversight for pets navigating strict physical limitations or recovering from trauma. Anxious & Trust-Building Needs: Creating a secure sanctuary for fosters, recent adoptees, or pets with separation anxiety. Personally & Professionally - Please note: While I am new to this platform (referred by my daughter, a long-time Rover), I bring an 11-year history as a five-star Airbnb guest with a track record of excellent reviews, a five-star rated DoorDasher, and I am also a corporate professional with an established, vetted background on LinkedIn with over 2,000 connections! My status as a WFH (Work from Home) professional allows me to provide your pets with round-the-clock supervision and deskside companionship. My baseline rate accounts for standard flexibility, allowing me to step out for up to 6 hours as needed. For pets needing true Constant Care—where medical, dietary, or anxiety needs require me to remain on the property continuously—there is a $25/day premium add-on. About Me: Committed to Elite, Constant Care Hello! I am a remote-working professional (who LOVES to Travel) embarking on an intentional, vibrant new chapter of life as an empty nester. For the last 25 years, my proudest title was "Mom," raising two incredible daughters as a single mother. Now that they are navigating their own successful paths, I am dedicated to bringing that same fierce devotion, love, and round-the-clock enrichment to your beloved fur-babies. (NOTE: One daughter lives on a cruise ship as a performer, my oldest daughter lives in NYC, and other family members spread about, leaving me interested in traveling ALL OVER - So please feel free to request me!) I understand the profound worry that can come with leaving your pets behind. My mission is to alleviate all anxiety by offering true constant care in the comfort of your home. I bring an intuitive, deeply empathetic approach to caregiving, connecting with your companions on a heart-to-heart level to establish trust, routine, and a calm, steady presence while you are away. My Heart & Dedication: Stories of True Commitment My intuition for animal behavior isn't just a hobby; it is a lifelong calling. I don't easily fluster, and I have a deep-seated "open-door policy" for any creature in need. To understand the level of dedication I bring to your home, you just have to look at a few chapters of my life: Beating the Odds with Bali: Shortly after COVID, I lost my beloved Pomeranian, Bali (whose beautiful life I chronicled on Instagram - Her picture in my profile). When Bali was born, she was so critically ill that vets said she wouldn't make it. I refused to give up. For two solid months, I held her tiny, lethargic puppy body constantly, bottle-feeding her around the clock until she finally perked up and beat the odds. She grew up believing it was beneath her to bark or even use the bathroom in a public space—she was part cat, part human, and the absolute center of my world. That is the level of fierce, round-the-clock devotion I bring to animals under my care. A Gentle Guardian for Seniors (Intuition When It Matters Most): I deeply respect the vulnerability of senior pets. During one of my sits for a sweet senior Golden Retriever, I noticed some unusual lumps that her owners hadn't yet seen. I advocated for her and urged them to take her to the vet, where she was unfortunately diagnosed with cancer. A short time later, while her parents had to travel for an essential work trip, I watched her again. Within a couple of days, I could sense a deep shift in her energy—I knew the signs, and I knew she was declining. Though I make it a strict rule to never unnecessarily disrupt a client's trip, I followed my intuition and called them, gently but firmly explaining that they needed to come home ASAP. They arrived the next day, and she peacefully passed away the very next morning. Her parents were profoundly grateful; they couldn't imagine the heartbreak of not being there for her final moments. I bring that same protective vigilance to your aging companions. Rescuing Boomer: My home has always been a sanctuary for those who need it. I once rescued a scrawny, struggling young cat named Boomer in a parking lot. She was so incredibly grateful for the food and safety I offered that she kept coming right back to my front door (hence her name, "Boomer" for boomerang). Eventually, I made her an official indoor cat, and she spent the rest of her days as the happiest, most pampered girl. The Miracle on the Roadside: My respect for life extends to all of nature's creatures. I once pulled over for an armadillo on the side of the road that had unfortunately been hit by a car. Though she had passed, I noticed her stomach moving. Her pouch was full of live babies. We rescued them, brought them home, and successfully bottle-fed them. Every Life Matters: On another occasion, I spotted a tiny squirrel lying motionless on the sidewalk after falling from a tree. I carefully wrapped her in a towel, secured her in a large, comfortable box to give her room, and spent hours calling resources until I connected with a local squirrel sanctuary that took her in. Personally & Professionally - Please note: While I am new to this platform (referred by my daughter, a long-time Rover) I bring an 11-year history as a five-star Airbnb guest with a track record of excellent reviews, a five-star rated DoorDasher, and I am also a corporate professional with an established, vetted background on LinkedIn with over 2,000 connections!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fernland walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fernland maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fernland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fernland. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
