“Ken was awesome! Our boy Gunnar was obviously well taken care and the house was cleaner than when we left it. Ken dropped by a couple of days after house/dog sitting for us and Gunnar was beside himself. Friends for life. We won't use anyone else. We highly recommend Ken, just not when we need him:)”

“Eric was a wonderful house and pet sitter! Our dog, Willow, loved Eric and his dog Rufus. Eric took Willow on many hikes and left our house in pristine condition. We would definitely recommend Eric to anyone living or staying in Summit County! Thank you so much!”

About: I have over 30 years experience raising, training, fostering, foster-failing and generally loving and caring for dogs. I work from home so will be with your pet most of the time and I love to go for long walks and runs with them. I am very active (walk, run, hike...) and have a large fenced in yard and a dog park nearby to keep your pup busy and well-exercised. Most of my clients are repeat customers as they find my services truly a "home away from home" for their fur-baby. Although I am new to Rover I have several references available outside of Rover - feel fee to request any you may like to see. I work from home so I am able to let dogs out every few hours in our fenced yard. Also walk at least an hour a day. Dogs in my home are treated as (and sometimes better 😉) than humans. Run of the house and the fenced yard. Lots of love and snuggles. Lots of walks/hikes/fetch/etc.
About: Love borrowing my friends dogs for hikes! I do a lot of hiking alone, so it makes me feel a little bit safer to take a pup on a hike with me. Hikes are about an hour long. I have several long time clients throughout the county, that I help while out of town or walk dogs weekly. I have watched cats, Small dogs, all the way up to an Alaskan Malamutes, she just passed away so I am looking for a new dog bff. I have taken care of dogs my whole life and have dog sat for different families for years so I am used to a variety of dogs and their different needs. I have a small, unfenced in patio/yard and a park across the street from home. I’m a busy bartender and server on the weekends, so weekdays I’m more available to help out more full time. Over nights are doable more full time! I have several long time clients throughout the county, that I help while out of town or walk dogs weekly. About: I've grown up with dogs and have been a resource for friends and neighbors to rely on for taking care of their pets while they are traveling or at work. Happy to travel around Summit County and nearby areas. I work from home a lot of the time, so I have a great schedule for walks, activities and lots of love. I try to spend as much of my free time outside at parks, on walks or hikes and just outside in general! I do not currently have pets and am willing to travel to your home for pet car and overnight stays. I will take great care of your pet and offer a safe, loving friend for them while you are away.
About: I've grown up with both dogs and cats my entire life, so caring for animals has always been second nature to me. I genuinely love spending time with pets and making sure they feel safe, happy, loved, and comfortable while you're away. I also volunteered at a local animal shelter for two years, where I cared for pets of all ages, personalities, and energy levels. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply having someone nearby, I'll make sure they receive the attention and care they deserve. I'll treat your pet like one of my own and keep you updated with photos and messages throughout my visits. I'm currently a sophomore at the University of Colorado Boulder majoring in Business. I'm involved in the Real Estate Club, Finance Club, and the Leeds Scholars Program. During the summer and school breaks, I have a flexible schedule and can dedicate plenty of time to caring for your pets. I'm an active person who loves being outdoors, so I'm always happy to take dogs on walks, hikes, or spend extra time playing outside. I pride myself on being dependable, punctual, and responsive, so you can count on me to provide consistent, loving care. Your pet's safety and happiness are always my top priorities. I understand that every pet has their own routine and personality, and I'll carefully follow your instructions regarding feeding schedules, medications, walks, playtime, and any special needs. I take the time to build trust with each animal and create a calm, loving environment where they feel comfortable. My previous work experience in customer service—including retail and most recently in the jewelry industry—has taught me responsibility, attention to detail, communication, and professionalism. I'll always keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in great hands.
“Trisha was great with our dogs. She is intuitive about what the dogs need and how to manage them. She was also good with communication and super flexible on working with us to accommodate logistics. Would definitely rebook.”

“Jadyn was a great sitter for our dog Marshall! She was flexible and communicative and sent lots of updates and pictures. We will definitely book her again in the future!”

“Melissa takes extra special care of our 11+ year old dog Kana. He’s peculiar and untrusting and by the end of her first day she sent me a pictures of him loving life! I would highly recommend Melissa. She’s attentive, tidy and super reliable.”

About: I’ve taken care of newborn puppies all the way up to senior dogs. I’ve had a soft spot for animals all my life! This platform seems like a perfect fit! I currently work part time doing videography and travel all over the country so I plan to care for dogs in each place I visit! We have a small farm but it’s not fenced in. Our dogs run and play all day long and then just hangout. Lots to do around here as me and the dogs love to go explore!
About: I grew up on a farm and have cared for dozens of dogs and cats, as well as donkeys, ponies, pigs, goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, turtles, salamanders, and fish. Now, I am a trained volunteer with the National Institute of Canine Service and Training, where I am a ‘babysitter’ for service dogs in training for ~one week at a time. I love caring for others’ pets at their home or in my home with fenced backyard and easy access to multiple open space trails. My husband Brian also works from home and is guilty of stealing morning snuggles and sneaking backyard fetch sessions during the workday. My husband and I work remotely, which gives us the flexibility to provide high quality in-home pet sitting services. We appreciate a furry friend to break up our days and give us an excuse to get off-screen at quitting time. We have a 3-bedroom home and a fenced backyard, with easy access to multiple parks and open spaces for walks. Working from home gives me more flexibility to spend time with pets I am caring for, which I love!

About: I was a foster parent for the Larimer Humane Society for years, have been around animals since I was a child. I love hanging out with pets of all shapes and sizes. Cant wait to walk and talk to pets. Walk outside first thing in the morning, breath of fresh air for the pet and myself, snacks & treats inside, play time, nap time, treat time, walk time, food, snacks, walks, play. All at the animal's preference and best needed. I have a long leash and close eye on pets. Able to put pets into a kennel or remove any negative impacts quickly. The pet's needs are first and foremost important.
“AnnaLiese was great!!! We have never left our dog with a stranger before. Our dog loved her and she spent the day hiking with him and relaxing at her house while we went to a concert. I would definitely recommend AnnaLiese.”

FAQs for House Sitting - Heeney
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 305 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Heeney. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Heeney walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Heeney maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Heeney choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Heeney. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
