“We always appreciate the extra care that is given to our older pup. We have used Alton and Valerie's care several times, and everything always goes smoothly. Thank you!”

“Tracy was so wonderful with our pup! This was our first time boarding our puppy and we were nervous to leave him. She really calmed our fears and sent us so many pictures and videos! She also has an incredible set up for the dogs! Sully was very well taken care of and we definitely plan to use Tracy in the future!!”

“Ashley and Caleb have a wonderful family and they all took such good care of our dog Lucy. Ashley sent pictures of Lucy enjoying the stay with them, and gave us regular updates on Lucy’s stay, including photos.”

“Leslie did a great job keeping me updated and sending pictures! Millie seems like she had a blast, and she even cleaned her up after playing in the mud. Very much appreciate her taking care of my golden while I was out of town. Would definitely recommend :)”

“Loved seeing the photos and videos she sent to keep us updated on how Remi was doing. He came home exhausted but happy and still remembered all his manners! We will definitely send him again.”

“Their communication was great. They took our 8-month old puppy (Betty) into their family for 3 nights. They asked if I was OK if she went on a family hike and sent pictures of Betty on the hike. The whole family is kind and welcoming. Betty enjoyed her time there.”

“Highly recommended! I was so nervous about finding someone we could trust to watch our miniature schnauzer. Above & beyond-eased my trepidations with a meet-and-greet before our reservation. We knew our spoiled fur baby would be well cared for. The photo updates were wonderful. 🥰 Great communication!”

“Simply amazing! We had an extremely last minute booking as we had to leave town unexpectedly (like only a few hours notice). Abigail happily took sawyer and i knew he would be so well cared for. She even was flexible when our trip got extended a bit (so sorry Abigail!!) Sent lots of pics and updates and i know Sawyer was so happy. 100000% book with abigail!”

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and truly believe pets are part of the family! Growing up, I regularly pet sat and walked dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities, and I’ve also cared for cats and understand that they each have their own routines, personalities, and comfort levels. While in college, I worked as a Wag! walker and absolutely loved getting to know different dogs and their individual personalities. I now have a Mini Schnauzer of my own who is very much part of the family. I’ve also traveled with dogs, so I know firsthand how important it is to have someone you trust caring for your pets while you’re away. I’m friendly, active, dependable, and genuinely love spending time with animals. Whether your dog loves long walks and adventures, your cat prefers some quiet company and attention, or your pet just needs someone to keep their normal routine, I’m happy to meet them where they’re at and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I have a flexible routine that allows me to make plenty of time for pet care throughout the week. I’m active and enjoy getting outside, so walks and playtime fit naturally into my day. I’m also happy to work around your pet’s normal schedule for meals, potty breaks, walks, playtime, or just some extra company and attention. I know consistency is important for pets, so I’ll do my best to keep their routine as familiar and comfortable as possible while you’re away. I want every pet in my care to feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I have a fully fenced backyard with plenty of room for supervised play and potty breaks, as well as a friendly Mini Schnauzer of our own. I know every pet is different, so I’m happy to follow their usual routine and give them the space or attention they need. We also have a basement area that can be completely blocked off if your pet prefers their own quiet space or needs some time away from our dog. In your home, I’ll treat your space with respect and follow your instructions closely so your pet can stay happy and comfortable in their familiar environment.
“Mandie was great. I needed a day sitter for my pup (10 months old) and Mandie was very prompt in accepting my booking. She was ready when we arrived even a bit earlier than planned. Augie seemed completely happy to be in her home and sounds like he played hard all day. She was ready when I picked him up. He was tuckered out and seemed very happy. I will definitely try to use Mandie if i need a sitter in the future.”

“Sven know whines going up to the door at Angela's, knowing they have great toys and lots of attention! He even seems to like -- or at least acknowledge -- Fred, and he's not interested in other dogs, at all. Thanks for giving him so much play time, which is what he craves.”

“I left Oscar (15 year old Lhasa Apso) for a short stay while I was away on a business trip and he clearly had such a comfortable time with Daniel and Carla that he didn't want to leave, he just stood on the doorstep. I appreciated the thoroughness of their questions around his feeding and walk schedle as well as the quick tour of the house and backyard that Oscar was clearly given the run of. Lovely people I won't hesitate to call on again. Cheers!”

“Marilyn was fantastic with my little nugget of energy! She loved on him and spoiled him! Would 100% use her again. Kept me up-to-date with how he was doing and sent me photos.”

“Megan is pretty much... amazing! Penny has found her second home with Megan and her family. I never worry for Penny and I always know she is having a great time going on lots of walks, playing frisbee, and being loved. I totally recommend using Megan for your next rover house!”

“Here’s a warm, concise Rover review: We had a great experience! She was so sweet and caring with Cocopuff and was very flexible with our travel schedule. We even forgot to pack his food, and she was incredibly accommodating and made everything easy. We felt he was in great hands and would definitely book with her again. Highly recommend!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Hazard home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Hazard.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Hazard sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
