About: Hi there! I’m Kaylee, a veterinary technician with a passion for animals and years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all breeds, ages, and personalities. From playful puppies to senior sweethearts, I understand their unique needs — and I know how to keep them safe, happy, and healthy while you’re away. Because of my background, I’m trained to notice even the smallest changes in behavior or health, administer medications if needed, and provide calm, confident care in any situation. I am currently unemployed due to relocation, so I have full availability and can spend all day caring for your baby if preferred at home! When I care for pets in their own home, my goal is to keep their routine as normal and comfortable as possible. I follow your schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, and rest — just as you would. I make sure they have plenty of attention, companionship, and exercise while maintaining the same rules and boundaries they’re used to.

About: I’ve had pets since I was a toddler, and I currently own two senior dogs and a cat. I’ve volunteered at pet shelters while in college, and am ready to share the love! I’m currently a part time student, and have plenty of free time. I’m available after 3PM on the weekdays, and completely free on the weekends. I have two dogs and usually let them free roam around the house during the day and crate them at night. However, each pet owner has their own routine that I am more than willing to follow.

About: Hi there! I’m Will — a college student, part-time employee, and full-time animal lover. I have availability in the mornings and afternoon/evenings, and I’d love to spend that time with your furry best friend! I’m a proud wiener dog parent, but I’ve also cared for bulldogs, shih tzus, and medium-sized pups. Beyond dogs, I’ve had rabbits, chickens, and cats, so animals have always been a big part of my life. Caring for pets with love, attention, and affection is my top priority. Fun fact: I also help bring pets over from Colombia and Mexico to the U.S., in case you’re ever curious about that process! I’m available in the mornings and evenings during the week. On weekends, I’m available 24/7 — so if you ever need me to stay overnight or do multiple walks a day, I’ve got you covered! I love taking dogs to parks! If your pup has a favorite spot, just let me know — I’ll be happy to take them there. I always make sure to follow your instructions carefully to give your pet the best care possible. Plus, I’ll keep you updated with fun pictures and videos so you can see how your furry friend is doing!

Meagan was GREAT! She took excellent care of my special needs dogs and kept me updated on how they were doing throughout my trip. She even brought something to my notice that she and I hadn’t specifically discussed. She washed the towels and sheets before she left and even took out the trash and recycling for me. SUCH a good sitter! Will definitely rebook.

About: I am an experienced animal caregiver, for over 25 years! I have experience with, puppies, all size, all type of dog breeds, kittens, cats, birds, sugar gliders, lizards, ferrets, etc. I have boarded animals in the past and taken extra care of them while owners are away. I am compassionate, patient, and am an animal lover at heart. I'm 44, a vintage lover and vegan. I am a dog owner myself and have had my own dog cared for during vacations. I have a 13 year old baby chihuahua (she will always be my baby). I also had a 100lb+ pup up until a couple years ago. I have grown up around cats since I was 14 as well, my partner I live with has a 3 year old cat that I care for as well. I will take care of your dog/cat like I would want mine to be taken care of. Your pup will enjoy my company as I will try to entertain your dog and send you updates as much as possible while you are away so that you can relax knowing your baby is in good hands. I currently make my own schedule and I do have obligations but I can be super flexible and for the most part I can work from anywhere. I currently am not offering to pet sit in my own home as there is not enough room. But I’m happy to sit at yours.

About: Hello! I'm new to Rover, but have many reviews online. Scroll to the bottom to read some of them! <3 ~~ I've spent most of the last 18 years living and working in California and New York, but I'm from South Texas. Throughout these years, I have cared for so many pets (and humans) that I have honestly lost count. I absolutely love animals and care for every home as if it were my own. I also have experience managing homes during emergencies, including natural disasters... my most recent occurring in January 2025 when I was pet sitting minutes from the devastating fire that swept through beautiful Altadena, CA. After rushing out with the pets and driving through the hurricane winds, I ended up being displaced again due to the Hollywood fire starting less than 12 hours later. Day later, upon reuniting the cat and dog with their owners, I extended my stay in California to volunteer at The Pasadena Humane Society. There, I fell in love with being able to learn so much so quickly and I will never forget being able to help families and animals when they needed it most. ~~ Background: I was raised always having at least one animal at home. My first dog was a black lab and then my family got a dachshund. We raised her for 11 years until seizures resulted in her losing all of her senses. Even as a young college kid who went to school 5 hours away, I traveled and was by her side during her hardest times. The longest seizure cluster I held her through lasted more than an hour. She fought and surprised every vet until another seizure took her final sense, her sense of smell. So, we decided to put her down. It was devastating It took my family a while to get another dachshund. This time, we got a male. Unbeknownst to us, he had epilepsy. So, we raised this baby boy who experienced regular seizures. After 11 happy years, his seizures left him immobile and our hearts broke again when it was time to say goodbye. Years passed and then I spotted a 5-week-old Dachshund on Craigslist. The owners desperately needed to find her a home before the Covid lockdown the next day. I rushed to get her. Lady is now 5-years-old. She's my baby girl. Since I cared for my parents during the lockdown, I raised her with them and I don't have the heart to separate her from my mom and niece. I now travel often, and pet sit a lot, until I can get home to her. She's a ham. Family & pets— Mom is retired. She was a middle and high school principal. She grew up in a rural part of Houston where her mom took care of animals that wandered onto their property. The animals were wild and free, but they all became somewhat domesticated because they loved mom and my grandparents. Some of these animals included a bobcat, a raccoon, dogs, a chicken, large birds, etc. That’s who I come from: people who animals are drawn to. I’m like mom in that I get along with most animals. I’ve cared for dogs, turtles, ducks, pigeons, cats, ferrets, and I even set up mom’s 55-gallon fish tank of angel fish and (later) more cichlids. I also raised my own betta fish. Garden & Plants: I have experience caring for freshly planted grass, plants, and I even helped mom plant an entire garden complete with flowers and trees in 2020. Between living in New York, Texas & California, I’ve helped plants thrive through all seasons. ~~ Some Reviews from other Pet/ Home Sitting Platforms: 1. Omeed. Sherman Oaks, CA, US · 13 Jan - 17 Jan 2025 "Nicole continues to set the bar impossibly high! This was her 8th time sitting for Lucy and Dinah, and once again, she proved why we trust her completely with our home and beloved pups. This time, Nicole had to contend with the challenges of the Los Angeles fires, and she handled the situation with incredible preparedness and grace. Not only did she come fully equipped with a plan to keep herself and our dogs safe, but she also shared invaluable tips with us to ensure we had a go-bag ready for Lucy and Dinah. Her calm and proactive approach gave us such peace of mind during what could have been a stressful time. As always, Nicole’s care for Lucy and Dinah is unmatched. She keeps us updated with adorable photos and messages, showing just how happy and loved our pups are while we’re away. And when we come home, our house is immaculate, as though no one had even been there! Nicole has truly become part of our family. Her kindness, resourcefulness, and genuine love for our dogs make her irreplaceable. Thank you, Nicole, for everything you do – we are endlessly grateful and can’t wait to have you back again soon!" 2. Illana. Pasadena, CA, US · 24 Dec 2024 - 08 Jan 2025 "Nicole was absolutely outstanding. She watched our home and our fur babies during the onset of the Eaton Canyon fires near our house and brought them to safety. We are truly grateful for her care and communication during a natural disaster. Prior to this incident she was an excellent care taker and communicator and just a generally lovely human being. Our pets loved her and she sent updates regularly. We would love for Nicole to sit for us again and could not recommend her more to others. Thank you for everything Nicole!" 3. Giorgio. Burbank, CA, US · 03 May - 24 May 2024 "It's always a pleasure to have someone as warm as Nicole over again. She took great care of our young dog and cat (as well as our house) who can be a handful for one person. She even managed to get our skittish cat to warm up to her and ask for pets, and that's saying something. We loved that she was, as always, very communicative and was so considerate to send us a steady flow of pet pictures during our absence. On a few days, Nicole did have to take on some unplanned last-minute event jobs, but she worked closely with us to make arrangements and be sure the pets were looked after and taken care of. When you are hundreds of miles away from home, you can't ask for someone better than Nicole to watch over your pets. She's a kind, self-sufficient person who took wonderful care of our home, and we'd recommend her to anyone." 4. Karee. Claremont, CA, US · 26 Mar - 05 Apr 2024 "We felt so lucky that Nicole was able to sit for us. She was great from the first time we communicated--responsive and clear about her plans, asked great questions, kept in touch, etc. We have a senior dog who, in addition to arthritis, had pulled a leg muscle, but Nicole was terrific at medicating and keeping her moving in a way that let her heal, but kept her arthritic joints from stiffening. Our very good dog was happy and well on the road to recovery when we came back. Nicole also took great care of our 9.5 pigeons and numerous bonsai. The house was clean and in great shape on our return. Would definitely love to have her back any time!" 5. Paola. Brooklyn, NY, US · 01 Jun - 06 Jun 2022 "Nicole was the best! Jolene was so happy upon our return which is always the best sign. She was kind, kept us updated and genuinely loves dogs. Our home was in perfect condition. I could not recommend her more." 6. Elyse. Pasadena, CA, US · 06 May - 16 May 2022 "Nicole was AWESOME!!!! She was super reliable, and she went above and beyond in every way! She bathed our dog and started him on his ear medication because she knew we were leaving on another trip quite soon - so thoughtful and forward-thinking! She even wrote out a chart/calendar for us with his different treatments on it! See, totally above and beyond :) She was also just the loveliest person. So glad we met her! HIGHLY recommend!!" I currently have a flexible schedule and can often work from home, so reach out at anytime to see if I'm available to pet/ house sit. I am unable to care for other pets in my personal home, but I am happy to be there for your pets in the environment that is most familiar to them, their home. Dog Walking: I'm used to walking up to two large dogs at a time. If handling more animals, I separate them and take them for walks in smaller groups to ensure our safety. Pet energy expectations: I've cared for a (precious) husky. Enough said. What shocks others, I likely already have experience with. Caring for Sick or Injured Pets: My only ask is that if you have a pet who seems to be approaching the final weeks of their life, please spend time with them and avoid reaching out to find a sitter. I have yet to be there when someone else's pet passes away during a sit, but I once cared for a pit bull where I arrived and immediately knew the dog had days to weeks left to live. I was also not informed he had recently become immobile. It broke my heart being there for a full week and I worked around the clock to help his condition improve. The owners returned to a healthier dog, but I was not okay. I carried that poor senior to and from the restroom and bathed him anytime he soiled himself. I vowed to never take that experience on again. So, please be honest when describing the needs of your fur babies. Thank you!

About: I’ve always have had pet dogs since childhood. Each with a different personality and adapted to them. To know when it’s playtime to knowing when it’s their nap time. I’m currently working part time but most likely to catch me weekday mornings. Even so shoot me a message and I can always try to accommodate you into my schedule. I don’t have a home to accommodate your pet but I do have a park close to my living area where me and your pet will be enjoying our long walks together.

FAQs for House Sitting - Havana

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Havana on Rover is $46.62 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 136 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Havana. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Havana walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Havana maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Havana choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
