About: Nothing sets me apart from other sitters, seeing how we all put in effort to learn what it means to be a sitter for pets. However, describing myself to you is important, because by doing so we can start to build trust. The only few things I can describe myself as is someone who is responsible with whatever instructions are given to me, someone who is also understanding, and someone who prioritizes being gentle with pets to help them be comfortable around strangers. If having a conversation helps you build trust with me, I would be happy to do so. I'm currently looking to do something on the side in order to earn a bit of cash, as well as something that accommodates to my religious responsibilities, consisting mainly of Tuesday mornings, nights, and Saturday mornings. We regularly stick to our feeding schedule three times a day, whilst also refilling or replacing their water so that they are drinking the cleanest water possible. As for client's pets, we simply follow this same mindset, or we follow any instructions left behind for specific care of the pet.
“Joyann was a great great sitter. She was very attentive to everyone and shared pictures daily with us. We were able to enjoy our time away knowing all was well cared for. She's excellent and such a gem.”

“Katrina stayed with my dog for a couple of days. I am very picky with who I let watch him and she made me feel comfortable. He is very shy and she was so patient and treated him as if he was her own. I would recommend her to anyone!”

About: I’ve had pets my whole life and love caring for them like they’re my babies. I also help watch my family and friends' pets when they’re out of town, so I’m used to giving animals lots of love and attention. You can trust that your pet will be safe, happy, and treated like family with me. I’m attending the university of the rio grande valley. However, I only attend on certain days and right now it’s summer so i’m free. I will make time. I will do my best to clean any mess the pets make and I am reliable to give them food and water and take on walks daily.
“Samantha was amazing with our Zoe! We really appreciate everything she did taking care of her while we were out of town. We loved the photos we got from Samantha and reassured us that Zoe was in good hands. Would absolutely book with Samantha again in the future!”

About: Taking pet portraits while caring for them is enjoyable for me and a souvenir for you. All the pictures in my profile are portraits I’ve taken of fur babies under my care. We never know how much time we have with them so I want each moment memorable. I update with plenty of pictures so you feel at ease! I work from home and take care of the pets. I give them time, play with them, and ensure wellness. I am studying for exams so have some flexibility. I care for and comfort the dogs as my own giving them plenty attention. Your dog will come to love me that they will look forward to seeing me. I am a dependable professional.
About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up on a farm caring for many different types of animals, which taught me responsibility, patience, and how to understand each animal’s unique personality and needs. Over the years, I’ve also trained several of my own dogs, giving me experience with basic obedience, routines, and handling pets with different energy levels and temperaments. In addition, I’ve pet sat for friends and family many times, caring for pets as if they were my own by providing plenty of love, attention, exercise, and dependable care. I’m passionate about creating a safe, comfortable, and fun environment for every pet I meet. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine because I have a flexible schedule during the weekdays and full availability on weekends. I currently work full time during the week, but I’m able to leave on breaks and also accommodate early morning visits, walks, feedings, and check-ins. My weekends are completely open, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to pets in my care. I enjoy staying active and spending time with animals, so making sure pets are happy, comfortable, and well cared for easily fits into my lifestyle. When caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, I always focus on making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while maintaining their normal routine as much as possible. I make sure pets are fed on schedule, have fresh water, get plenty of exercise and playtime, and receive lots of attention and affection. I also pay close attention to their behavior and needs to ensure they are happy and stress-free while their owners are away. I have experience handling animals with different personalities and energy levels, so I’m patient and adaptable with each pet. Whether it’s walks, potty breaks, play sessions, administering basic routines, or simply providing companionship, I care for every pet as if they were my own. I also respect my client’s home by keeping everything clean, organized, and following all instructions carefully.

“Best babysitters by far!🤎This was my first time leaving my dog with anyone, mind you, he’s a 140 pound big boy but Brando and his mom took the absolute best care of him! I was so nervous at first but throughout the whole time, they were constantly updating me with pictures of my big baby & constantly keeping me posted with any updates as they were also administering meds. Atlas is a high energized dog that requires a lot of attention & that is what he got on this mini vacation! There is no one else I will be going with moving forward to take care of Atlas! I will 110% return! Thank you for taking care of my big baby🐶”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 123 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Citrus City. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Citrus City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Citrus City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Citrus City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
