“I can not say enough good things about Shonna!! I had a medical emergency and ended up in the hospital. I have just moved to the area don't know anyone here yet, so I turned to Rover.com and found Shonna. She actually came to the hospital to meet me before going to check in an my sweet Kitty Finn. She updated me when she got to my house, sent pictures of Finn and some of her holding and loving him! She also let me know when she was leaving. She even checked up on me after I was discharged frim the hospital! She will always be my choice of people to look after Finn. She is just wonderful.”
“Mrs. Casey was amazing with my babies. One gets scared and can become aggressive at meeting new people due to pass trauma. However she was so patient with him until he got comfortable enough to greet her and became the sweetest little boy with her as he is with the family. We can not think her enough for all her patience she had with our boys. Mrs. Casey was amazing, giving us daily updates, wonderful pictures, and most of all give them all the love and head scratches they love. She gave us so much peace of mind knowing our babies were being loved, with every interaction. We can not recommend her enough.”

“Veronica was amazing! She is personable and reliable and really took her time taking care of our cats. She was very flexible when we had adjustments and last minute changes. She was very thorough with her daily reports and we felt very comfortable the entire time! She went out of her way to help us with a cat that was a little under the weather and gave the cat her medication every day. Our cats were so much happier at home than in the kennel. We came home to happy cats! Veronica made this first ‘at home’ trial a success! We hope she will consider helping us out again in the near future!”

“I highly recommend Olivia! She is reliable, responsible, and truly kind. She followed all the instructions, kept me updated, and took great care of both my cat and my home. Everything was clean and tidy when I returned. Most importantly, my cat loves her! She clearly cares about animals and takes the time to build trust with them. Knowing my cat was happy and well cared for made all the difference. I feel lucky to have found such a dependable and caring cat sitter. I will definitely book her again in the future!”

About: I have been taking care of animals since I was a small child. I chose Veterinary Medicine as my career and have worked in both day practice and emergency medicine. I can administer medications and recognize when your beloved pet needs medical care. I also have experience caring for horses and chickens. In addition, I can care for your house plants and gardens and will bring in your mail and packages while you are away. I am currently working Part-time at a local veterinary office. I will have time before and after work and on my days off to walk and play with and care for your pets. I like for your pets to stay in their own home where they will find the most comfort while you are away. I can offer long walks and play time and regular feeding as well as some couch time catching up on their favorite shows.

About: As a former zookeeper, I have been able to care for and work with so many animals beyond just cats and dogs: owls, macaws, sloths, flamingos, anteaters, reptiles of all shapes and sizes! That being said, I have always been a dog person and have taken care of other people's pets since I was 15. That particular part of my resume (dog sitting and walking) spans from walking pairs of huskies through the suburbs of Charlotte as a teenager, to walking guest's french bull dogs and what-have-you at the RV park I worked at in Wyoming! I am available for drop-ins and walks, and potentially pet sitting if they are able to stay at my house (2 acres, spacious interior, 2 welcoming dogs). I myself have owned dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, fish, chickens, ducks and horses and am available to check in on all of the above. I can thaw out a rat and feed a snake, make sure your tarantula is still alive and well, and clean a bird cage - you name it I've probably done it! I currently work full time at Wild Heart Brewing which takes up my evenings between Wednesday and Saturday. I also work at a horse barn on Thursday/Friday mornings. Between all that I am able to fit in a few house visits and walks on those days, and have open availability on Mondays and Tuesdays. In my own home, I have a senior dog who mostly naps and a puppy who mostly plays, but is either with me at the horse barn (he's an excellent farm dog!) or crated when I'm not home. My own property is 2 acres and not fenced in, which is fine for my 2 boys who stay with me, but I would keep a client's dog on a long leash and on me at all times. My house is very dog friendly and I have a crate, doggie gate, lots of water dishes, and plenty of beds and toys.

About: I worked for 4 years as a med tech and have experience caring for many different types of pets. I have a lot of experience giving medicine and fluids if your dog needs any special care. I currently have 5 very well behaved pups that love to play with everyone. I also have experience with other types of animals including reptiles and amphibians. I have always loved caring for animals and enjoy giving them as much attention as I can. I live in a more rural area with a big yard that is fenced. I go running with my youngest dog everyday and love going out and exercising with the pups. All my animals are treated like my children and I give them everything they want. Thanks for considering me, I'm sure I will make your pets feel like one of my own! I work part time helping out with a dog daycare a few days a week and the rest of my time is spent at home with the pups! I have 2 fenced areas to be able to separate any dogs that may need to be and multiple indoor areas for them. If they are used to being crated at night/when you’re out just let me know. I have large crates for them if they do or plenty of beds and if they don’t!

About: I have had dogs and cats as pets my whole life. I currently have 2 labs/lab mix. I’ve also pet-sat for friends and family for years. I would love to care for your pet while you’re away! Teacher on summer break! I can pop in to walk or care for your beloved pet at anytime! Thank you for trusting me with your sweet baby! I currently have 2 dogs, so I’m very familiar with doggie needs. I am able to leash your dog for walks, supply doggie bags, play lots of fetch and more. I’ve also owned cats in the past and could care for their needs as well!

I am available on weekends and holidays for walks, house sitting & pet sitting. I have a fenced in yard and a bunch of toys and love to give. I love to play and work out with the pets if they like too. Water play in summer too. I am available to watch your pets at you home as well as do drop ins throughout the day.
“Mr. Alan was a wonderful person and took care of my babies wonderfully. My boy Blu can be handful at times and can become aggressive at meeting new people due to his bad experience at a boarding facility. I am grateful that Mr. Alan could work with him and give Blu the time that he needs to get to know him. I really appreciate that he did not rush the process but took his time until Blu was ready. I was so pleased with all the work that he did with my baby. Blu and Chopper had a great time with Mr. Alan. He made it easy for us to be gone from the house and enjoy our trip knowing that our babies were well taken care of. I highly recommend Mr. Alan to anyone.”

About: My family owned dogs and cats all my life. Once I got old enough to take on responsibility, I started feeding, bathing, walking, and cleaning up after my pets. I love pets of all kind and I've owned dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, and guinea pigs. I currently have 8 dogs of my own which are 7 American bullies and one Boston Terrier (Abel, Nyx, Hella, Cash, Holly, Buckshot, Zarah, and Maddie) a gecko named Leroy, and a baby quaker parrot, named Sully. I am very familiar and comfortable with all size of dogs as I have owned so many different breeds over the years. From Great danes to small dogs. I love spending time with my pets as well as getting to know and spend time with others. I understand the importance of doing what is asked by the owner of the pets! If you want someone that is a huge animal lover and who is reliable and trustworthy, look no further! I can't wait to hear from you and meet your fur baby !! I currently work full time, my days off vary and change a lot due to be being in management. I am normally available early in the day. If we have already pre booked something, and my work schedule changes, I will still make accommodations to make sure your baby is taken care of! While caring for your pet inside your home, I will do exactly what you ask of me and treat your fur baby and your property with respect. I will love and care for your baby as if they were my own and make sure the house is left in the same condition it was in before I arrived.
“Janie was very professional. She sent me pictures daily of my babies and even made a point to play fetch with the dogs in the backyeard, I will be using her services everytime I have to go out of town. I know that my babies will be taken care of.”

“Mikayla L. did a good job with my 5 "babies". I got updates on my "babies" every time she was there. Oreo and Nicodemus came to her for tummy and back rubs. I appreciated her hard work. I would like to use her services again. Sincerely. Leslie M.”

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
