About: I have 1 of my own dogs who lives with me. But I also have experience with a total of 4 dogs as my parents have 3. All are Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. I am comfortable with all medium and small size dogs. I do request that they are house trained. I like to take dogs on walks but if they are smaller it is okay if they are not perfect at walking on a leash. I can even help work with them on that. I currently work a normal day job during the week. But I work remote, that means that the dogs would not be alone at all during the day. They would have someone to care for them, take them out and feed them if necessary. Every day it is not raining, I do go on a 1 mile walk with my dog on my lunch so that they get good exercise. HOUSE SITTING: I can work remote from your house providing care all day. However, my dog Charlie would also have to come with me. If this is something that you do not feel comfortable with, I can offer drop in help instead. I have 1 of my own dogs (Charlie) who lives with me full time. My apartment is fully equipped for a dog to be here safely. I have a balcony where the dogs can spend time enjoying the fresh air. My dog gets along with all other dogs and is very friendly as he used to go to daycare with many other dogs. I have the ability to walk the dogs, get them fresh air and exercise. I also have dog toys and bones available for them to use. Dogs are allowed in all areas of my place. Including the couch, dog beds and human beds. Allowing them to be where they feel the most comfortable.
About: I’ve grown up with many cats and dogs and have also taken care of many family members pets for many years! I’m currently working part time at a dog daycare so i’ll have plenty of time to spend time with your dogs and/or cats! My schedule is usually three days a week for about 4 hours most days but some days it will be 6 hours! I will follow any given instructions to keep your pet safe and happy! “Our little Larry instantly fell in love with Ciarra! We had peace of mind the entire time he was in her care. Ciarra is a very kind, gentle, and sweet person that anyone should feel comfortable trusting with the care of their fur babies. She went above and beyond to make Larry feel at home…and gave us some locals tips for places to go and things to see while we were in Charleston. We really felt like fast friends and that we were leaving Larry in the care of a friend. Ciarra checked all the boxes and then some for the things most people look for on Rover: ✅ Clear Communication & Updates ✅ Timely Responses ✅ Experience ✅ Kindness ✅ True Animal Lover ✅ Safe Space ✅ Reliable and Honest”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Greyledge commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone.
