I was out of town for the wholeeeee day, leaving very early and returning extremely late, and they kept him safe and very happy the entire time! Updates were frequently and detailed, which is great for this helicopter pet parent! 1000x would recommend to anyone looking for top-tier pet care!”

“Falen was so responsive and very careful to read everything in Makka’s profile and to make sure it was the best match for her it could be. Dani was the person home, and she was so warm and friendly and knows a ton about dogs. Even though my baby had an atypical reactive moment when she first met her puppy playmate, Dani wasn’t phased at all, and coached me on how to proceed. “That’s very normal,” she said, and within 30 seconds - 1 minute, Makkachin realized she had a friend and was her usual friendly, playful self! The had a BLAST running around their expansive backyard with her nee puppy friend, and Dani was very attentive. When I came to pick Makka up, Dani brought her right to the door, leashed up and bag packed. She said Makka did a great job and welcomed us back any time. We’ll definitely use them again soon!”

About: I've been around animals my entire life, so I'm very comfortable caring for pets of all ages and personalities. I understand how important it is to keep them on their normal routine and make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you're away. I also have experience dog sitting three dogs for an entire month, which taught me how to manage multiple pets at once while keeping up with feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and giving each dog the attention they needed. I'm dependable, patient, and will treat your pets like they're my own. I'll provide plenty of love, exercise, and regular photo updates so you can feel confident that they're in good hands. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine, and because I have a very flexible schedule, I'm able to give pets the time and attention they deserve. Whether it's walks, playtime, feeding, or just keeping them company, I'll make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you're away. I'm available throughout the week, including weekdays and weekends, and can easily adapt to your pet's routine. While my backyard isn't fenced, all outdoor time is supervised, and dogs will always be kept on a leash to ensure their safety.
“Maddie was so friendly and professional and also is home all days with the dogs, which is a huge plus! Makkachin is always unsure of new environments at first, but got comfortable quickly and definitely sees Maddie as her new friend. I’ve akready booked her again!”

About: You can trust your pup with me! My love for dogs and animals started when I was a child and has grown into a deep bond and genuine care for every dog I meet. I truly go above and beyond when it comes to pet care — and in my book, a little spoiling is always included. ;) I’ve had decades of hands-on experience caring for dogs since 2004, from training my first Mini Schnauzer, Ally, as a puppy to providing specialized senior care as she got older. In 2009, my husband and I rescued our first senior Schnauzer, Smokey, and cared for him through several medical issues including seizures, gastroenteritis, and inner ear infections. I’m extremely attentive to a dog’s needs, personality, comfort, and safety, and I always stay alert to make sure they’re happy, secure, and out of trouble. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your fur baby, and I would care for your dog like one of my own. *Please note: I can only accommodate dogs up to 15 lbs. Requests above this size will be declined. Please do not request bookings for larger dogs. I’m a stay-at-home pet parent, which allows me to give my full attention and care to both my own dog and the pets staying with me. At our home, pets are treated like family and will receive lots of love, attention, supervision, and playtime throughout the day. We have a securely fenced yard for safe outdoor time, potty breaks, and play, but dogs will always be supervised while outside. I pay close attention to each dog’s personality, comfort level, routines, and needs to help them feel safe and relaxed while away from home. Whether your pup enjoys playtime, walks, cuddles, or simply relaxing in a calm environment, I’m happy to accommodate their routine as closely as possible. I also understand the importance of consistency, patience, and attentiveness, especially for senior dogs or pets with special needs.

I have over 15 years of experience helping and taking care of animals. I love being around your fury friends helping them feel safe and loved while you are away. Working at a vet also taught me how to give animals their medications if needed. I love being able to pet sit because I genuinely enjoy my time with the animals and helping the owners feel comfortable that their pets are in good hands! Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope to be hearing from you shortly! I have open availability, pet sitting is my full time job! About: I grew up in the country taking care of dogs, horses, cows, a pig, a lamb, bunnies and probably more that I can't think of! After years of service in the military where having a dog is difficult so I didn't have one, I finally got a corgi last year. His name is Gnocchi he's over a year old. I also got Luna, she's an Austrailian Shepard puppy and she is 6 months old. I recently had a 6 foot fence installed so my dogs can run free! They love other dogs to play with. I am comfortable with senior dogs, puppies and dogs who might need medication as well. I'm currently not working but I am looking for a remote position so being home while my kids are at school is my normal routine! I have a 6 ft fenced yard with an undercover area that is also fenced. I plan on getting some dog houses for that undercover area so they have a warm place to snuggle or they can come inside as well when it gets really cold or really hot!
“Thankful to have found such a great pet sitter to watch my puppy for the day! I knew my pup Arlo was in good hands and he would have a great time. The cute pictures throughout the day were a bonus. It’s so nice to have a reliable, responsible pet sitter who clearly loves and cares about dogs. Thanks, Kaylee!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Dillon commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone.
