“Thank you so much! We can tell from the photos you shared that Josie had a wonderful time playing outside and being spoiled with her treats! We will definitely reach out to have you watch our pup again!”

“Brittany is amazing and professional. She kept my cat happy and stimulated during her visits. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for someone that’s great with taking care of cats.”

“My Ezzie loves people but tends to be shy at first. Lisa got her to come out, eat treats and get pets!! That says amazing things about Lisa. We kept in communication with pictures and texts. I never felt nervous. I would recommend Lisa to anyone that asks and will be using her in the future!!”

About: I have always had animals around in my life. Overall, I have had the pleasure of having 8 dogs, 2 rabbits, 2 guinea pigs, 1 hamster, and lots of fish (both freshwater and saltwater). Additionally, I have had the opportunity to care for the cats of family members. I have experience with: -Positive Reinforcement Training -Leash Handling -Muzzle Usage -Reactivity Training Guided by Licensed Animal Behaviorists -Veterinary Medication Administration Currently, I have one dog, Josie, who is an Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler Mix. Josie is dog reactive, and I have spent an extensive amount of time working on her training and care. I am currently available to provide pet care Monday-Thursday from 4:30 pm - 9:30 pm. Oftentimes, I am also available to provide pet care at any time on Saturdays or Sundays. I have availability at any time during the day during these days in July 2026: 7/10, 7/11, 7/18, and 7/31. Since I have a dog at home who is anxious and reactive, I am not able to care for your pet in my own home; however, I would love to care for your fur baby where they are most comfortable -- in your home or in your neighborhood. I typically arrive with small treats in a pouch to share, ensuring my greeting is always positive. While at your home, I will ensure your pet receives exercise/play, multiple potty breaks, and refill water/food as needed. I believe in positive reinforcement, ensuring my interactions with your pet are always kind and respectful.
About: I can't wait to meet you and your furry family member! I've trained my own puppy and attended several dog training classes, giving me a strong understanding of canine behavior and care. I also have experience caring for a senior dog who is blind, which has taught me patience, compassion, and adaptability. My goal is to give your pet exercise, companionship, and attention while taking the stress out of long days at home. I also happily care for cats and treat every pet as if they were my own. 🐕🐈❤️ Need a helping hand with your pet's care? I'm available for 30-minute walks during the lunch hour, as well as weekend walks, check-ins, and pet sitting. I'd love to help keep your pets happy, active, and cared for. I treat every pet with the same love, patience, and attention I give my own. During walks and drop-in visits, I provide exercise, companionship, fresh water, and personalized care based on your pet's unique needs. I carefully follow your instructions regarding feeding schedules, medications, and daily routines to ensure consistency and comfort. For pet sitting, I work to keep your pet's routine as normal as possible while you're away, helping them feel safe, relaxed, and well cared for. I have experience caring for energetic puppies, senior dogs, and pets with special needs, including a blind senior dog. I also care for cats, providing feeding, playtime, litter box maintenance, and plenty of affection. My goal is to give your pets a positive, stress-free experience and give you peace of mind while you're away. 🐾❤️
“Maria consistently does a fantastic job taking care of my pets. She arrives promptly during the designated time, ensures they have their potty breaks, refreshes their water, and gives them plenty of love and attention. Her Rover cards are detailed and include lots of pictures. I know that are in good hands with her!”

About: I have several years of hands-on experience working with dogs, beginning with volunteering at an animal shelter and progressing into positive-reinforcement dog training. Through that experience, I’ve worked with dogs of different ages, sizes, personalities, and individual needs. As a dog trainer, I have experience with puppies, adolescent and adult dogs, basic manners, leash skills, enrichment, scent work, and helping dogs build confidence in new or challenging situations. I pay close attention to canine body language and believe in meeting each dog where they are rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. I understand that a drop-in visit is about more than simply feeding a pet or letting a dog outside. I want your pet to feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I’m happy to follow established routines and provide potty breaks, meals, play, enrichment, companionship, and plenty of individual attention based on what your pet enjoys. I’m also comfortable caring for cats and understand that they often have their own preferences when it comes to interaction and personal space. Whether I’m caring for a dog or cat, my goal is to provide patient, reliable, and thoughtful care while treating each pet as an individual. My schedule allows me flexibility to provide drop-in care throughout the week, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings depending on availability. I intentionally limit the number of visits I accept each day so I can give each pet the time and attention they deserve rather than rushing from one appointment to the next. I’m also open to recurring weekly care for families who need consistent support. When caring for pets in their own home, I follow the routine and instructions provided by their family while paying close attention to the individual pet’s behavior and body language. My background in positive-reinforcement dog training has taught me to prioritize safety, choice, and low-stress interactions. I take time to allow pets to become comfortable with me rather than forcing interaction. I’m mindful of doors, gates, leashes, feeding instructions, and other household safety needs, and I’m happy to provide updates so you know how your pet is doing while you’re away. My goal is to leave your pet feeling safe, comfortable, and cared for in the environment they know best.
“When we had to be out of town all day, Alyssa was a godsend. She came over a couple times to let him out and play, and sent us the cutest photos of him having fun. We will definitely rebook with Allissa again!”

About: I've taken care of dogs since I was 10 years old and have a passion for giving them the best life! I will treat your pet as my own, making sure they are well taken care of and happy. I'm always ready and willing to go for walks, give them approved treats, lots of play time and willing to give them medicines if needed as well! I am available most of the time!! I can be available for early morning walks, afternoon potty breaks, or weekend runs around the block! Pets are a huge priority in my life and I will make your pet one of my biggest priorities. I currently have three rescue dogs and one rescue cat. I understand that every pet is different in their comfort level with humans. I will work with your pet, at their comfort level, to ensure we create a positive and safe relationship. If possible, I'd be happy to set up play dates with other dogs as well! Leashes and harnesses are what I use for my pets, but I'm open to walking your pet how they walk best.

“Jessica was great! I am a self proclaimed over worrier and I felt very comfortable leaving my cats with Jessica. She was communicative and flexible to my requests which I really appreciated. We could tell from the pictures that our kitties felt comfortable being themselves and weren’t too stressed by our absence. We would definitely recommend her and will book her again for future services if she’s available.”

About: My mom’s friends have always trusted me to watch their pets. I have had to take care of senior dogs including my own having to give them their pills. After work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and the weekend until I can make enough money to do this full time! I want to be a able to quit my current job to do this full time! Giving them enough attention whether it be playing and taking them for walks getting them outside as much as possible. Feeding, bathing, training. Making sure to not leave them alone too long.

“Patty was amazing and helped us relax and enjoy our vacation knowing our cats would be well looked after. Even though they were not receptive to having a new human looking after them, she didn’t give up in trying to win them over and I know they appreciated her being there, even though they didn’t show it. 😹 We definitely would not hesitate to rebook Patty in the future.”

“Taylor was very helpful when our carbon monoxide detector went off during her pet visit. We appreciated the communication to help us resolve the unexpected event. All while she took good care of our cat!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
