“Sadie is always phenomenal with our Josie girl. The true testament of her talent with animals is that our anxious girl not only at her meal for her (which she often leaves for later), but that she also brought Sadie her favorite crab toy. Josie, my husband Brandon, and I are always so glad to have Sadie come and help out, and she always goes above and beyond. Thank you so much, Sadie!”

About: “God speaks to the creatures through the creatures.” -Dr. Chase. “All you need is love.” -John Lennon. Plenty of love I have to give, but I also have the experience of 35 years as a science teacher. I’m well-versed in how animals like dogs and cats talk to us through their gestures. Dogs evolved with humans, and I understand that relationship and how dogs meet our emotional needs. Please read my first four reviews which I received from pet owners that I served even before signing up with Rover. The pet owner decides when treats are allowed, if table scraps are allowed, and how much food to give. The dog decides when it wants to go potty. 😉 Just in case, I usually take the dog out before it decides and always before any discomfort. Snuggles welcome. 🐾🥰😻 When serving you and your pet, I like to send pictures. We can also use FaceTime or Zoom to check in. 🐶🤩 At age 61, I’ve been a retired teacher for 3 years, and my activity level allows me to run or play with your beloved dog. In your home, I follow instructions and do the routine for your beloved just like you would. However, if I’m allowed to give more snuggles, or more walks, or more training than you normally have time for, I’m at your service.

About: I have owned and operated PawSau Pet Sitters in Wausau Wisconsin since 2017. We recently moved to Sheboygan and I've decided to team up with Rover, operating under Leash by the Lake. I'm an insured and bonded Pet Sitter, certified through Pet Sitters International (2020) and The National Association of Pet Sitters (2026.) I'm a very active walker and can take up to three dogs at a time (one household per walk.) I have extensive exoerience with all household pets from puppy/kitten to seniors. I also have a special interest in exotic pets. **Please note** there may be times when my four year old daughter will be in attendance with me. She has been pet sitting with me since she was a baby and is calm and kind. Thank you for your consideration! I'm a full time Pet Sitter for over ten years and a mother. When my husband is working and my daughter, Winter, is not in preschool she may come with me to do care. She's been doing this since she was a baby and is very calm and gentle with pets I update my availability daily. I house sit for one home at a time and I love caring for all domestic and hobby farm pets. Exotics are my specialty and I have a special interest in bully breeds I am comfortable caring for pets with all temperaments as long as there is a safe way to do so. I am comfortable using a gentle lead, harness, pinch collar and muzzle .

About: I’ve grown up caring for cats and dogs and have always enjoyed spending time with animals. I have an active dog of my own who loves going on long walks, so I’m very comfortable keeping energetic dogs active and entertained. As a high-level athlete, I’m active myself and genuinely enjoy being outdoors, whether that’s walking, playing, or simply spending time with a pet. I’ve also helped neighbors care for their animals while they were away. Right now I’m training in Milwaukee and have practice at 3:30 so I can take care of your pet during the day but also after practice if needed. Would be preferred if I did at the clients house but I live in a apartment right now they have a dog park and sorts.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
