“Byron and Martha were great hosts and took great care of our Yorkie boys! They sent daily pictures and messages to let us know how the boys were doing, so we didn't have to worry during our trip. I highly recommend them, and I'll be bringing the boys back whenever my wife and I travel again.”

“Kim is great. She did an amazing job making Jax feel at home, as well as giving me the peace of mind knowing he was being well taken care of. She sent plenty of updates, pictures, and videos throughout his stay. I could tell he was having fun. She even shared some useful training tips that I plan to use. Jax is definitely looking forward to seeing her again.”

“DEE IS AN ANGEL! My mini poodle is an anxious/reactive dog so it’s hard to find people who are willing to watching him and understand his quirky behaviors. From the initial meet and greet, it was obvious how much Dee loves animals and dog sitting. I left my dog with her for 5 nights and couldn’t be happier with how comfortable he was with her. Dee provided multiple daily updates with pictures and videos, and she kept up with his 3 time a day feeding and his daily meds. It’s great to know that there is someone like Dee who will care for my baby like I would. Thank you so much!!!”

“This is the first time I have left my dog with anyone other than the Vet or family and Jennifer is amazing!!! Soo loving and kind! She knows so much about dogs and is a great communicator with pictures and updates every day!! I will absolutely use her again! So grateful to have found her!!”

“Jacob is amazing! He puts the dogs and the owner at ease! He was so great with our Sophie and sent pictures each day!:). We can not say enough good things about him!!:)”

“I was very anxious about leaving my large elderly bulldog with someone new. Chisato kindly allowed us a meet and greet prior to our reservation to alleviate my concerns and allow my dog a chance to visit her home. During my dog's stay, I received very regular text updates with lots of pictures, video, and descriptions of her day. She took my lazy pup out for many slow walks, and did a wonderful job managing her medications and dietary needs, including a medicated bath. I am extremely happy with the care our dog received, and will absolutely recommend her to our friends and family.”

“Christy communicated really well. I had a family emergency at the end of Kali's stay and needed to extend her stay. Christy accommodated and wished us well. She even let me pick up Kali for a "sleep over one night since I was going through Kali withdrawal. It meant she had to get up an hour early the next day so I could drop her off again on my way back to the hospital. AMAZING team her and her daughters.”

“Norm and Mary watched our golden retriever over the weekend and really made us feel comfortable with his first Rover experience. If we need someone to watch him again they are our first choice! Made the transition from our home to theirs seamless as possible for Kobe. Thanks!”

“Megan, provided a safe and comfortable environment for our dog. She was awesome about sending photos regularly and communixating on how she is doing. We recommend her highly.”

“Jean was amazing with my golden. I loved getting pictures and videos daily and knowing that he was having a great time. My big guy has terrible anxiety during storms and is on a high dose of anxiety medication that sometimes works. When a bad storm rolled in Jean was compassionate and loving and notified me about his condition. As a very overprotective dog mom I trust Jean and we will definitely be using her again.”
“Dublin’s stay at Sarah’s went well. She sent pictures and gave us a report out when we picked her up. I was a bit concerned that the fence was fairly short given that we have a lab, but she assured us she keeps the dogs on a leash whenever they’re in the yard. Thx, Sarah, we’ll definitely reach out for any future needs.”

“This was our second time boarding Haru with Hannah and we can not express how excited Haru was. At first he was a bit hesitant since it was his first time, but after his first experience he was just so ready to have fun! Hannah and her family are so kind and such a wonderful family. It was such a relief seeing the photos and updates Hannah sends showing that Haru himself is having a vacation with his friends. Our family is so grateful for Hannah and her family! Thank you so much! \(^-^)/”

“Halie and her family looked after our puppy with love and patience. They didn’t mind we’re still potty training, chewing what we shouldn’t and struggling with separation anxiety. Our puppy had the best of times and we always got reports and photos of their day. Also, she became available super last minute. The only thing you need to worry about, is that your pet wants to stay with Halie. 🥰. Gracias!”

“Jayne was wonderful!! You can clearly see she loves dogs and will pamper your furry babies. During Jazz's stay, she hurt her paw but Jayne was right on the case - she let me know right away and was able to take care of Jazz. I came back to find a super happy pup! Will definitely use Jayne's services again!”

““Our dog’s spring break vacation” The overall care & true love she shows to her furry friends is like no other. Our senior dog got such a boost of energy & felt like a young pup frolicking in the forest preserve & swimming multiple times within the week in Lake Michigan. She has the sweetest dogs and cats & looking at pictures of them all snuggled up in her bed at night made us so happy. She has the coolest backyard for the pets too. We’ll book with no one else.”

“Angela and Dave took great care of our girl Ivy! The updates and videos were really helpful knowing that she adjusted well and was having a great time playing with Honey. Highly recommend!”

“Edwin and his wife were amazing! It was our puppy’s first time being boarded while we were away, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The home is so lovely, with a nice fenced yard for playtime. We got many pics and videos of our pup, who had a great time at Edwin’s. Thank you!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Great Lakes
Matt was just incredible. Perfect home away from home for Zuka. My girl Zuka is half Otter Hound and half Airedale, so she is a big pooch. His own dogs were both friendly and energetic offering Zuka tons of playtime. Matt was great to check in with us un prompted to let us know that all was well in Zuka’s world. He sent pictures as well as immediate follow-ups. I would recommend Matt to anyone who wants a safe, experienced, fun-loving dog sitter.

Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
