“Andie is fabulous and has definitely earned her status as a star sitter. She sent lots of pictures while we were away, and Sugar was clearly being well taken care of and having a blast to boot!”

“Joanne was a great sitter! She was kind enough to allow us to come pick up our two pups each day to take them for outings on the beach. She let us come and go as needed and our dogs were happy to come back to her house at the end of each day. It’s obvious that Joanne is a true animal lover. We will definitely bring our dogs back next time we’re in town.”

“Laura met us at the door and quickly picked up our Peaches and made her feel at home. Peaches was all smiles when we received pictures of her and was very excited when we picked her up. It was a good experience for our first Rover Sitter!!”

“We were exceedingly pleased with the experience that our dog had when she was under Jenn's care. Jenn really seems to love animals and cares deeply about them. She seemed to care for our dog as if it were her own. She took her for many walks and spent a lot of time with her, which is really great because our dog really thrives getting lots of human interaction. Jenn also sent a number of pictures every day, which we really appreciated. We would definitely use Jenn again in the future.”

“Rover wants me to give a review. To be fair I must ask my dogs to do the review since they are the ones that were being cared for. My experiences are/were extremely positive. Of course both Zoey and Bandit have not stopped talking about their Caitlin and all the lovings they got. They asked to go back and I will be using their sitter again.”

“Thanks for always being great with my two pups and being so accommodating! I love seeing them having fun with you & appreciate how you are able to give pills or extra support when needed”

“We chose Sandi as our Rover sitter for our Golden doodle, Carson because she had by far the most return clients and positive reviews! The fact that she was the closest sitter to our location was just a bonus! Sandi and her husband treated Carson as their own. She sent daily updates and pictures which clearly showed how content Carson was with them. Carson happened to have a birthday while staying with them and got a birthday scarf for the occasion! If we ever repeat this summer trip, we will not think twice about where to leave Carson!”
“I'm so glad I reached out to Jeffrey to board my 9 year old black cat for the week. I was very concerned to "relocating" her to his home for the week during Christmas. Knowing he had no other animals in the house and kids at home during the holidays to keep her company is what made me decide to go this route. It was worth it. Although it took my Pepper time to adjust to the relocation, it turned out to be less stressful to keep her there, than leaving her home alone. (If I leave her alone for a week, she is howling in distress for days after I return) This is the 1st time in years where Pepper was actually calm after my return home. I hope Jeffrey and his family will consider taking her again for my next trip.”

“Maddie was amazing with our boy Banks. Hey did Grainger was a great bud for Banks to play with. Maddie provided restart updates and videos so we didn't have to worry about how things were going. Highly recommend!!!”

“I can’t recommend Mari enough as a pet sitter! She took such great care of my dog, Riggs, while he stayed at her home. Her house was spotless and very pet-friendly, which immediately put me at ease. Mari was incredibly attentive—she made sure Riggs took his medicine on schedule and kept me updated daily with messages about his behavior and little adventures and pictures. It was clear he was happy and well-loved while in her care. I will definitely be using her again in the future!”

“We had such a wonderful experience with Liz watching our Cootie Girl overnight! She did an amazing job caring for her, especially considering that Cootie is an older girl and needs a little extra patience and attention. Liz’s home was absolutely perfect for Cootie — it was dog-friendly, comfortable, and all on one level, which made things so much easier for her. I could tell right away that Liz genuinely loves dogs and took wonderful care of Cootie. It gave us such peace of mind knowing Cootie was safe, comfortable, and being so well cared for. We would absolutely trust Liz with Cootie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will treat your dog like family! ❤️🐾”

“This is the 2nd time we’ve used Karla and the first time overnight. She is fantastic and easy going -which makes our dog feel very comfortable with Karla and her husband. She communicates throughout the day with pictures, videos and messages — which makes us anxious owners feel better. I would definitely use Karla agai. And highly recommend!”

“The absolute best! From the moment we met her, I felt completely comfortable leaving Billie in her care. She is incredibly personable, caring, and attentive. Billie came home happy, exhausted from all the fun, and clearly showered with love and attention. She also had a great time playing with her adorable pup! We couldn’t be happier with the experience and can’t wait to book again. Highly recommend!”

“I felt very comfortable leaving my older small dog with Nicole. She sent lots of pictures and was reassuring, and my dog was in great shape and very happy when I picked her up. Will be using Nicole again!”

“Jacklyn did above and beyond with taking care of my senior dog, Lotus. Very caring for Lotus' for conditions and took care of her with intent. Thank you Jacklyn for making Lotus feel at home and letting her sun bathe ?”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Graves home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Graves.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Graves sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
