About: I am a 4-h kid and I have always loved animals! I love playing and taking care of dogs. I have watched friends and family dog for years and I promise I will do my best to make your pet happy! I am updating my schedule and I will be available to watch your pets!! Weekends and check ins along with dog walking will also be adjusted! I would love to stay or check on your pup or cat! About: Hello! My name is Ireland, I have taken care of pets for as long as I can remember. I was raised on farmland in Central Texas, so my first pets were barn cats, as well as my childhood dog-- a sassy pug named Poppy. I currently live with my roommate, who has two lovely dogs: a Weimaraner and a Boston Terrier. I help her watch them when she is on vacation and if she needs me to feed them because she is coming home late. I had my childhood pug, Poppy, from puppyhood to her geriatric age, and helped with every phase of her life (including helping with sickness, incontinence, medications, trips to the vet, and eventual deafness & blindness). I take pride in having cared for many animals throughout my life, including: chickens, cats, dogs, fancy-rats, parakeets, guinea pigs, and pigs. I have recently offered pet-sitting for friends & family, to which I usually stay at their house overnight when it calls for it. I like to have fun with the pets, offering enrichment by offering "head massages" and watching movies. I love to pamper! I once volunteered and worked for a dog shelter/SPCA in Central Texas. I did various tasks, such as: administered medication, offered first aid, walked dogs for daily exercise and potty breaks, cleaned bowls, provided dinner and snacks, played with toys for enrichment, and maintained shelter guidelines for canine quarantine. My approach to caring for pets is to come from a place of compassion for their experience, especially keeping in mind that I am a new person in their environment. I hope to be a safe space for the pet and the owner, and always a source of trust. Thank you for considering me to care for your sweet loved ones! I work weekdays, 9 AM to 6 PM. I can work some weekends by special arrangement. I am open to picking up shifts randomly when it fits my schedule-- I do not require scheduling in advance. ***I will not be providing care at my house** In your house, I will keep my eyes on your pets to ensure they stay near if you let them out in the backyard, which I typically go outside with them. I am comfortable with these services: bathing dogs, feeding and giving water to pets, putting dogs in crates as instructed, walking a dog on a collar or leash/harness, administering medication to pets, and playing with enrichment toys.
